@mophsto Think about it this way. Why would there exists an order for the other AUTOs out there in space to retrieve just the captain of a ship that somehow found it's way back on Earth? They're not allowed to even come close to Earth. On the other hand, the humans and bots could all go back in space to rescue the remaining humans that are still floating about in their own AXIOM cruise space ships. All of them equipped with AUTOs, functionally indistinguishable from one another. Que AXIOM Wars.

lol not really, it would be easy to make a movie about follow up events. Everything is going good on new earth and walle and eve set out to fix it meanwhile one of them gets kidnapped by the evil antagonist. The movie climaxes in a point where walle or eve find a way to free the captive other and foil the plot of the antagonist and everything returns to the way it was when it began. That is why I think a sequal would runin this movie. It would simply suck.

That depends. Sequals are never as good as the original, but if Pixar made one, I'm sure it wouldn't be all corny like you say.

...of course, I could be wrong... :D

They could at least make one of those cool "short animations" that Pixar's good at.
