I heard gotta give him props, not the bit before though
Anyway, fair play man, this is a hard song, ive been tryin to play it the past week and havnt got much further than the part where you play the B octave. Excellent performance for sure
Awesome mate!! you inspire me to go and learn the whole song myself. I only know the middle bit, i posted it on youtube. " Tritty doin Petrucci" have a look.
Your a gun at such a young age mate, keep it up!!!
Good heavens! That was amazing and the ending was fucking sweet. How could you do that on an SG? Also, why did those people go insane after witnessing that?
Well actually, all of the progrock and progmetal songs i have learned, i have learned them in my Gibson SG. It's a very playable guitar, and has quite a surprising tone if you distort it right. I personally use it through a Blackstar dual tube distortion and to a Vox Valvetronix VT30.
Crazy pinch harmonics, and amazing performance. 5 stars, It's really cool to see someone playing a song live instead of sitting in there room playing along with the song and being able to do it over. That ending was sick as fuck, too. I've give you 40 5 star ratings if I could.
Hmm wow that was very nice, but please a little more feeling;)
...And a little smile would have been nice;p
It's so good to see that people r actually enjoying their music while they'r playing it, and that they'r playing it because they want to, not b cuz they have to. Once again, nice.
i will agree with you maybe a little more to let everyone know how much fun your having...but you tied it all up with an absolutely incredible petrucci-like ending...dont be nervous...we all know how good you are pretend your the only one in the room when your doing that..still one of the best thus far...send more..
Strange choice of guitar, and Amp for this song, but you know the song well. Try going for a less muddy sound. What you got there works nicely as a rythm guitar. loved all that at the end man, stunning.
Well, it was a student performance. I brought the guitar but didn't have a choice about the amp. And a lot of muddyness is due to the reverb from the gymnasium and the nasty quality of the camera's mic. Thanks for the comment.
loved your performance man, but in this video i'm not hearing much vibrato, which is really what makes john petrucci's music what it is. otherwise, awesome.
Hey man, I was blown away by your performance. As you probably know, a majority of people in America will never respect progressive music. Their musical standards are so dumbed down by the constant spew of crap that's called "rock" today (sans a few mainstream bands that are very talented). If you would have played that in South America, Japan, the Middle East, or Europe, you would have gotten much more of a response from the crowd. Keep it up, man.
I really like the way you play. It would be great to hear a recording with clearer acoustics. Don't worry about the crowd... progressives are rare in the world! \m/
Very nice, no more minor mistakes than anyone else would have playing it live ;) Don't stress over it, it was an awesome performance, and you should be proud of it!
haha... Most audiences wouldn't be ready for some Dream Theater, lol... a lot of them are probably like "When is this song going to end?" haha... but it's an awesome song, and an awesome job... kudos
dude , that was really good... u a young man and u play really grate... congratulations, and the end was awesome too... diferent that the real , good luck.
amazing! don't listen to the haters, i WISH i could play like that. awesome.

That's quite unfortunate, an amplifier can be as much as an instrument as the guitar itself. Still exceptional job, keep it up.

hes not petrucci, and he did very well. thing stated cooking up around 5:12
beavisthelizard 4 years ago
i said that he did very well, and his tone was great considering the amp circumstances. it was merely constructive criticism.
