Bought this at a record store in 1985 for $1...and would sing "See Spot Run...Run Spot Run." all the time. My parents must have thought I was regressing from my sophmore year in high school :)
Alas, this version cuts off the best line in the whole song, though-- "I don't know any other Middle Eastern countries"-- which is hilarious because of course the countries listed are not Middle Eastern. An otherwise delightful find.
I've always loved this song. I'm sorry I didn't get the album(only 'cause the import record store couldn't get any more). One of a few songs that influenced me into making synth music as well as the first song I learned to play on my first synth. Thanks for puttin' it on the tube!
KROQ in Los Angeles is where they use to play this song circa 1982. I bought the album too. The cover had a 3D feel to it if you stare at it for 20 seconds or so...lol
omg i cant believe i found this on here.... its a song that my best friend and i used to listen to when we were teenagers and laugh our asses off at it...(my kids father actually had the record(vinyl) and still does to this day) not many ppl know bout this song, glad i found it. ty for posting it.... :)

This is what made new wave so much fun . You were considered kool or a kook if you got into the Hawaiian Pups. I think a little of both.
