  • i wonder if the 22 dislikes realizes this is sarcasm?

  • Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

  • What bothers me more is these celebs that want to save the world by adopting children from other countries instead of looking in there own back yard (meaning right here in America)!

This country has thousands of children that need good homes but instead celebs go to other countries to rescue children.

I say FUCK YOU Oprah & FUCK YOU Angelina Jolie for not trying to help your own people right here in America!

I think you forgot that it's America that made you what you are, RICH & FAMOUS!

  • @scorpionkings I agree that there are all kind of problems anywhere in the world, but they're doing good things, don't be blind about that. Why don't you blame someone who's doing nothing?

  • @scorpionkings I though Oprah helped some US residents to some free vehicles.-Her own country, her own people....This did not HELP them ?

  • That's a very good question!

What the answer is is no, what we really become is deaf and blind to what's going on in the real world!

  • Show no mercy, for you shall receive none, thats the motto i have.

  • Richness comes from appreciating what you have and not grasping for the things in life that really don't do anything for you..

The beauty magizine and comersials jus get thier wording mixed up..

    "Feel great, look great"

    instead of

    "Look great, feel great.."

but then there would be no money to be made from that...

    Just a happy nation.. !

  • I want to be ritch enough so I dont have to rely on my boss tho eat and pay my bills thats it! Ritch enough to live my life, without having to depend on a job! Ritch enough so I can use my time to help others.

  • Wow! A pretty girl who is saying what I've been thinking all my life. Now I can die content.Truth is, the love of money is the root of all evil. But there was no money when Cain slew able,or when Eve ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.I don't need to be rich. Our corrupt system requires that to survive with our needs met adequately that we accumulate an unbalanced proportion of more. This will cause us all to crash and burn as it is unsustainable.Bitter proof that life is spirit.

  • he he, like it ; )

  • YES, I DO.

  • People who are that rich who can, as you say, sip mimosas on some beach and have the privilege of not thinking won't be staying rich for too long.

These days when you're rich, you have to actively watch your back...and your bank account.

  • Miss, thumbs up! I cannot agree with you more on everything you said!

  • the resident, you're great!! (I miss your brickwall too)

  • your awsome

  • I miss your brick wall!

  • Absolutely. I wanna be rich enough to stop wanking.

  • That makes two of us.

  • Or at least to be able to do it for pleasure rather than necessity?

  • Pardon me. Too many Carlin videos!

  • twitter, another name for idiotville

  • Because you don't use doesn't make it idiotville.

It's entertainment. We all entertain ourselves different ways. Be happy that people are happy!

I don't have a twitter but if it works so don't knock it

  • Hmm...just smart enough to see the ridiculous nature of pop culture, mass media, and middle class white America, just dumb enough to think pointing that out is original, and just pretty enough to get a job talking about it on TV...it all adds up to mediocrity.

  • oh wow, you really showed how smart you are. you're so smart you question everything, wow you're a genius. you should become the next multimillionaire.

  • As many will quote, "money is the root of all evil" -- and yet, that is a misquote -- for "the love of money is the root of all evil". This depends on translation too, of course, but I don't see money as the problem -- more ourselves and our views regarding money ...

  • Speaking for myself, I do give when I can, to worthy causes -- but there is so much more that can be achieved with wealth when it is set to work for the good of others. Sure donations help, but an active legacy is better! Give a man a fish and he eats for a day -- teach him how to fish and he eats for life ...

  • For example: building and funding schools in disadvantaged communities, orphanages and other ongoing solutions to improve people's lives -- way beyond the basics -- but don't forget food, water, clothing & shelter too :-)

  • No, rich would be fun for a minute but then I'd just get bored and end up giving it away.

  • Yes.

  • If you become rich, you will most likely become out of touch with regular folks, get an attitude that is snobbish, and take comfort in your bank account, not in God.

That is the way it works.

  • This is the reason that we are called Capitalists Pigs by many countries, I do not mind us having free enterprise but at the same time there has to be a sence of responsibility from our local, state and Federal government that they are there to serve and help its people.

  • LOL

    I love the resident.

  • Hey Lori. I finally started posting some videos. Check them out if you get a chance. Just be easy on me, it's my first time trying to do a show, :)

  • Interesting theory: be rich and you don´t have to think anymore. So you think that´s the reason for Maria Carey (for example) to talk about her sorrow for starving African children, but who at least had no weight problem. - Maybe it´s vice versa: intelligent people (like you) do realize the real worth of money and go a different way.

  • i would like to be rich enough to help poor people.

  • she's hot !

  • ATTA GIRL

  • Yes.

  • u don't understand people she's sarcastic!

  • yeah I sorta do.

  • You. Are. Awesome.

  • You are the DaVinci of the sarcastic art form! Well played.

  • Yeah. If you were rich enough you could hire people to do your thinking for you. hmmm. Isn't that what we as a nation are doing?

  • I would like to be rich enough to stop thinking!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want to be rich enough to be self sufficent.

  • Good job Lori, you are sweetly telling it like it is.

  • why have you applied so much foundation(make up) on your face????

  • No I don't! Neither do you...Lory! :-)

  • yep.

  • I got it. Some people didnt. Its an exaggeration to get the point across. With the upper 5% of people that own all the money she might not be exagerating though. The point is that our whole society is in this stupid cycle that revolves around money making people very shallow and stupid at the same time. The buy this or that to make you happy mentality. Its just plane wrong!!!

  • She seems to be talking about wealthy celebrities more than just wealthy people in general. Most wealthy people got that way by working damn hard and dont sit around with nothing to do.

  • This is a very generalization of wealthy people. Majority of wealthy people are nothing like this. The people who are portrayed in this video are people who are in the minority of wealthy people that are out there. So I don't think this video portray's wealthy people accurately because it is not the majoriy of wealthy people. It's the rich hollywood types who we do this type of thing. Not your normal wealthy people.

  • You don't have to be rich to stop thinking. You just have to open your mind enough for your brains to fall out.

  • Oink..Oink... Yep! I used to have a chip on my shoulder against the rich. Then I landed a very unusual job for me. I went to work for Edward Hamilton furs in Portland Oregon in the 70s. Eddie is a GREAT guy and pretty rich all by himself. I found out through working for him that the rich are by and large pretty nice people. Most of them are rich enough to hire other people to manage their companies and their wealth. So in my mind it is NOT the rich. It is the system that makes for evil

  • Have friends with money. And eventually you'll establish connections and you can work your way up from there. I've done it.

  • Looks like we got something in common...

  • yesme2

  • and do think this video was gonna be about monetary policy. this channel still aint quite to the intellectual level it should be.

  • Hey Lori, I've been a big fan of you for years now, but I have to say that I'm not crazy about your new set for your videos, the brick wall was better I think... this one makes me kind of dizzy, lol... audio could be better too, I mean, I'm not an expert on making videos but I've seen videos of you with more quality (talking about the setup, not about content of course, that one's always great!)

  • I tend to feel sorry for people who hate wealth and think that there lives would be happier not being wealthy. I'm not a wealthy person at all so I sure wouldn't mind having a ton of money as it would contribute to my happiness more than actually "going green" or something like that.

  • DUDE! you said what we're all thinking or least should think about! It's awful the world we live in... makes you wonder when it started to become more important to have money than it was to have love.... That may sound lame, but I dare you to tell me it isn't true.

  • r u a communist?

  • Why do people slouch and slump all the time? I think women looks pretty when they slouch and slump. Do you slouch and slump?

  • Oh c'mon resident be honest, the reason you're talking about the affluent is because since you can't be one at least you want to know how they live. It wouldn't be America without People magazine and all the fashion mags. America thrives on capitalism and people like you who care about materialism and all the glamor that it brings. Ever since you were a child you were conditioned to want things.

  • Obama your wonderful president hasen't made you rich yet??

  • u dont get it, do u?

  • Preach sister.

  • Scathing sarcasm ...Awesome sugar!

  • This whole world is about the riches ... no one gives a damn about the poor ones. Ands its ordinary people like us who r fooled by the media over and over again.. for example... News Headlines like 'Angelina julie is pregnant' ok good for her but is it tht important to make a headline? We need to break free.. and focus on more important issues. instead of buying all the cheesy crap these newspapers sell..

  • MIKMA WAS HERE

  • Yup!

  • How many Republicans were at Cannes? Hmmmmm?

  • Shiek...it was full of the hypocritical hollywood elite. *barf*

  • The film festival?

Who would want to go there and see movies no one really gives a shit about. I would much rather watch Transformers 2 than some of the crap they show there.

  • I want to be rich, but do I have to thnk to?

  • C'mon, Lori. You're a pretty girl. You can't parlay your hotness into making a few bucks? :)

  • Here's food for thought

If money is the root of evil,

    Why don't churches pay taxes?

  • Yea class warfare! Rich people = BAD!

  • Lori, this video was like good sex, leaves you wanting more. Here's a joke: did you hear YouTube, Twitter and Facebook plan to merge? They're going to call it Stupid Twit Face!

  • Ha, there is something better than "good sex". Have you ever had to run out of a house and jump a fence to escape a girl's dad?

  • hater in the house!

  • Hollywood people who have millions and millions call it "F. U. money"

  • you have to think to be rich.

  • i still want to figure out how to fit inside a computer

  • Nice vid:)

  • spoken word!

    word.

  • I love your videos. Especially when you don't tell exactly what you are trying to say, by making the viewers have to think about it. Love it

  • Nothing outside of ourselves can make us happy or content. Look at Elvis, Marilyn etc. We take ourselves with us where ever we go and there is no geographical cure. Your message is right on target. Our biggest battles are with ourselves.

  • I like Monkeys :-D

  • bring back the brick wall!

  • Wow this video is amazing

  • There is nothing wrong with having wealth. The problem with this post is that like the media, you focus on the small percentage of wealthy people (famous or not) who in your view behave poorly. When in fact, just like with taxes, it is the wealthy that contribute the overwhelmingly higher percentage to charitable organizations.

And if someone decides to spend THEIR money on 5K shoes, doesn't make it wrong. Trying to bridge that against world hunger is ridiculous.

  • Actually, TheyROutThere,

    that's not true.

They've done studies. The poorest quintile (the poorest 20%) contribute a much higher percentage of their income to charity than the richest quintile.

But don't tell that to the richest quintile: they're very thin-skinned and used to flattery.

  • ReliableInsider -

We are both right. It is true that poorer people give a higher percentage of their income as you have stated. But it is also true that the wealthiest give more in total dollar amount as I have stated (which is what I was talking about).

But the notion that spending money you've earned the way you want is somehow wrong because you're not giving it to Africa or "saving whales" is ridic. Every penny spent on a product or service gives someone else a job.

  • The keyword is a percentage of ones income so if you make less whatever you donate is going to contribute to that number.

Now if you make trillions you could easily outdonate the poor without it taking to much of what you actually make therefore being a lower percentage of your income.

  • So you're saying the rich are much less generous than the poor and much less charitable.

But that the rich have more money than the poor.

    I agree.

  • No I was pointing out the falsehood that rich people donate less money to the poor simply because they don't donate a higher percentage of their income to the poor.

  • Well, the poor are more generous -and- give more money to charity than the rich because percentage is the relevant number you look at when you are determining how generous someone is.

How much of a personal sacrifice they are willing to make.

The rich have more money than the poor. Whether or not they actually earn what the universe gives them is a matter of dispute.

It's actually easier for a camel to go through the head of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.

  • I really doubt that Jesus was against money or even having it because why would a loving compassionate god actually want to see people suffer or even be unhappy.

  • because money distracts people from God while pain and suffering keeps reminding people to seek for God.

  • On some people. I was very poor in my life... too poor to effort something to eat. I havent been searching for god. I don't believe in Religions.

  • Whatever pain and suffering we have is usually caused by ourselves through our own actions. I don't think its God's will for us to suffer even if we do not believe in God himself.

  • If it's god's will for us to suffer, that certainly would explain a lot. If that's true, however, god can kiss my white ass.

  • I like the brick wall better than this green computer room.

  • Greed is the mother of all crimes.

  • Resident, the solution is simple. Have a friend lure your husband into infidelity, divorce him, collect alimony, and then go off and marry a rich man. Problem solved. It's not like you're a guy or anything, and have to earn it all yourself.

  • Vulva envy.

  • happy is a decision you make everyday, it's not a feeling. everything that is happening in the world today is the only way that it's supposed to be. my ideal world is world we live in. people can do what they want. governments can make laws and society can try to shape your world view, but it's your decision to be a force in the world, not a thing being acted upon.

  • What have you got against Cheetos?

  • yes

  • i also find it amazing when people with different backgrounds, experiences and lifestyles can come to the same conclusion.

  • when you grow up with less you learn that there are things that more important than money. like quality of life. i'm sure that money is being put to good use. although in the hands of someone more wise than those who attained it, it would make a much bigger impact. nice vid res! :)

  • ROTFLMAO

  • I think the moral of this video that money is the rood of all evil but how can that be when money, like a rock, is just an inanimate object that can't rationalize good or evil. Like money, a rock can be thrown at either another person to do harm or used to build shelter in the woods (camping) and is void of any good or evil in it. The only thing that has good or evil is the person that holds it.

  • What?

  • What is wrong with you? Who made yo the judge?

  • This video is disgusting.

  • You don't need to be rich to be mindless of suffering. Just join the republican party.

  • Skooby, apathy is not the sole property of the Republicans. Everyone wants to keep their own money - Republicans do it by cutting programs, Democrats do it by spending everyone else's money. The means are different, but the ends are the same.

  • You forgot to mention that some Dems do it by simply not paying their full taxes. My comment was partisan sarcasm. But be assured I see dirt on both sides.

  • I love you. Your awesome : )

    Laterz,

    -Omar.

  • "You're"

  • Bad hair day, Flaps.

    Give me a bitch.

  • Great video

  • You are a sage!

  • hmm.. I get your point.

But I happen to care about what my favorite celebrities do because I've grown fond of them through their work.. only a couple though, like 3-4 people. I don't buy gossip mags.

  • Oh, the elite think alright... They're thinking about how they can kill as many of us "worthless eaters" as possible, through perpetual war, starvation, poisoned water, poisoned food, and poisoned skies..

  • NOweWONT,

The rich don't call us -'eaters'-. They call us -'consumers'-.

  • Comment removed

  • I Googled it and the links all lead to Lyndon LaRouche websites.

  • you don't have to be rich to stop thinking about how to better this world. I'm pretty poor and I've stopped thinking years ago ;-)

  • Hit the nail on the head with Twitter.

  • The people I talk to are not rich, nor do they like to think. Most people in the United States are nice, but totally apathetic. They'll say, "unless it effects me, then I don't care". They really just don't care. Any conversation that's not about trivial matters, is going to frustrate them. It will be meant with resistance. Then the brainwashed consumer masses will think you're strange, and you'll have to apologize. Sorry, what's new at the mall, or the movies? Gotta love that weather!

  • We all do.

  • YES!

    Thinking is hard.

The new backdrop is very garish. I like the brick wall better.

  • don we all want to be rich

  • I think most people would rather be happy and respected and loved than rich and hated and miserable.

  • people can be rich and still be loved and happy and respected you know and not all rich people are hated and miserable so were did you get your stereotype from?

  • No, I'm saying that, given a choice, most people would rather be happy and loved and respected and admired than rich.

  • gosh, i wonder how many people take this literally.

  • There are caring and non-caring people within every social strata.

Do a video on the Gates Foundation to offer an interesting and balanced perspective.

  • id like to be rich now that i know what poor is for 25yrs... its rough check to check

  • Brilliant!... But I don't want to be rich... Couldn't stop thinking 100% of the time. Life would be boring... Although I want to be financially comfortable enough so that I only have to think 50% of the time. That would be sublime.

  • I wanna be rich enough to buy one of those "African babies conversions" that TokenBlackchic (Youtube STAR) was telling us about. If you don't know about those, you suck =) I'm ahead of the game.

    Good luck ya'll

    -Peace

  • I'll never be rich; I have a disability in this regard--I care.

  • NO...get rich taking money from other rich people and then set up a foundation. Money is power.

  • Like Madonna says, "Money changes people"

    I want to care.

  • I suppose...I gotta tell you though its working for me . Im not exactly bill gates yet but I enjoy being able to have surplus so I can give cash to causes rather than not being able to if I made less money.

I think money only "changes people" if they're like madonna. She doesnt exactly seem like the most well adjusted person on earth.

Keep caring, but you are more useful if you're powerful.

  • Shes more well adjusted than the rest of Hollywood at the moment ::D

  • Did Pravda make you do this sad little eat the rich video???

  • "All I wanna do is be rich enough to stop thinking, dont you?" HELL YEEEEEEEEEEE mrs H!!!!

  • Also, I say keep the sarcastic routine. It forces the viewers to focus more on the material and interpret it.

If I was rich, I would just get enough to live comfortably and get a ton of video games then save the rest like a greedy American haha. Before you guys hate me, question what you would REALLY do, seriously.

  • Seriously hilarious. Actually, Lori, I believe you are on to something that is already in process. In fact, I believe that we're going to see people behaving more cautiously about money, and ultimately, I believe some of the tired cliched rich people affection for "excess" in every form is going to go on the wane. But, we'll see!!

  • Hey I am a huge fan of you.... and I hear what you're saying. But your hair is not brushed in the video...tut tut. It's normally so nice.

  • i would think by 40 years old you would have developed a little more class and dignity than that, or at least have something of relevance to say.

    i guess not though.

  • I guess you don't get irony.....

  • huh? It makes her have a sexier appeal.

  • If I was rich, I would still finish my education and get a job.

Challenging yourself makes life worth living.

If I had a lot of money, I would challenge myself to do and acomplish new things

  • Super rich? Don't think it's for me. I think it's one of those things that looks good from afar, but up close really isn't any better, just a different set of problems.

  • By following Twitter, you may be able to rob the wealthy as they describe their fabulous vacations...as their vacant houses sit there waiting to be robbed.

Good luck on your new career.

  • Nice Lori!

You should use some Absorption panels in your "studio" to make the sound less "echoey".

  • I agree.

  • Ahh...to be among the super rich... Yep, nice thought..

Instead of working today I would call down the to the airport and have them fuel up my private jet. Day trip to the bahamas just cause it rainy here today...

  • funny thing... I've been contemplating that as a reality. Why bother with such concern other than to walk around "feeling" as though it makes a difference. These "rich" people are enlightened by default.....and so it goes.

  • Envision a snacking called Cheetos

    With fillings that seem incognitos

    One bite and a crunch

As you have them for lunch

And your health is now lessened

    Oh neato!

  • mmmm cheatos

  • Invention of money has been a curse to humanity and disrespect to nature from the very beginning.

  • I don't buy the rag mags, but my mom does... and then she leaves them on my desk, where they shout senseless drivel about people I don't know! No thank you!

  • I sense sarcasm...

  • A wee. You think? hahaha

  • Gee, Lori, I don't think that you should read all those magazines about rich people and their shallow problems. Oh, wait, you said that last year!

I'm a little behind here, sorry. Luv ya! Keep up the great posts!

  • i find it interesting as the planes those folks are riding on, are probably the ones with the technology to allow them to do thier wireless stuff. Hell some of the new planes have the internest built into the screen on the headrest infront of you...

if you havent seen that...your either not rich enough to know about it or havent seen it on TV. Neither am i, but i saw a blurb about it on TV.

  • very very cool...those guys must shriek with excitement when they break that little airplane rule.

  • Thease people seem to forget that the Grim Reaper is comming. They alsow forget the fact that money has value only because it is ACCEPTED by the collective public and that it is printed out of thin air. THEY are Rich because OUR eyes are closed.

  • wow someone seems angry lol :)

  • Me too...

  • I'm tired of living in a society where consumption is the trend of the "era", which is a sad view on how we as a species are heading towards . . . (I hope we get out of this stupidity soon for all of our sake) GREAT RANT!

  • I began to lose hope for humanity when I saw ONE NBA Finals Lakers floor seat on stub hub for $59,000! (Talk about psychotic consumption)!

  • The masses want their bread and games. As long as they have their iPHONES, HDTVs, Clubs, etc they will continue to be controlled.
