This is also available on Netflix, that's actually where I first found and watched them all. I not only kinda can't believe Lion's Gate produces NON-violent media (I've found other things they've backed that weren't 'horror movies') but that they and Shelly Duval put all this together back in the day. These were cheesey but cute ^_^ but ... Jim Henson's "The Story Teller" kicks ABSOLUTE FAIRY-TALE ENACTMENT ASS!
Thank you for posting these! you have given me a nostalgic little piece of my childhood. to others who want to enjoy these, after finding this video I found they are actually available for instant play on netflix!
The is the first and prob last comment i will make on youtube.
WOW. I remember borrowing these videos from my local library and watching them over and over again. I always loved this one and I never knew what it was called. I havent even pressed play and I am so excited. Its been so long that I though I had dreamed this as a child since everyone I tried to explain the story to, had no idea what I was talking about. I'm about to go back to the age of 6!!! Thank you.
I've been looking for this for years! I rtemember renting it from Blockbuster when I was little. The next time I wanted to rent it, it wasn't there anymore. Thanks so much for the upload!
Thank you for this! (Specifically, this one, Rapunzel, and a couple others; I'm doing research on several faerie tales for a novel. Thank you, again, so much!!)
This is one of my favorite fairy tales! Fairy tale theater and Grim fairy tales (or whatever that show was called on nickelodeon) made the only decent existing versions (that I know of ) of this story. I used to love disney movies as a kid, and I'd always wish they would make a movie of this one. Maybe they or someone else will someday... (fingers crossed)
I've never heard of this show until last week. This is the second episode I'm about to watch. I'm hoping it will be similar to the Mattel movie "The 12 Dancing Princesses."
Today I finally found the show!!! Used to watch it when I was 6/yrs old, it used to be aired in Bangladesh in the late 80s ... I wish I could explain how happy I am feeling :) ... found a piece of childhood back :)
This one was stupid to me. All of the girls liked the drifter, and he got to pick one. I thought the dancing and talking was dumb too. It's for young girls with princess dreams, and that's about it. That's okay.
This was one of my favorite stories when I was little. I made my mom read it over and over to me whenever we borrowed it from the library.

@kilssj2250 Actually, this is a different Lion's Gate entertainment...the one known for violent movies is just Lionsgate.
