  • Ding dong the Wicked Witch is dead! Oh the Wicked Witch!!

  • she's kinda made to look ugly in the film but in the play she pretty <3

  • Awkward scene change at 0:27

  • It's funny when you see this from the Wicked context, Dorothy was always a stupid tool for the Wizard's evil deeds.

  • why did the witch light fierro on fire?

    i thought she loved him!!!

  • All hail the teleporting guard!! (at 0:24, 0:25, 0:26, behind the Witch).

  • Bitch please, that was a trap door. She's still alive. Fiyero got her. Shhhhh...Glinda doesn't know.

  • I'M MELTING!! MEEEEEELTING! OOH WHAT A WORLD! OOOOOOOOOH! xD

  • Estou derretendo aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • poor elpheba

  • Damn elphie! You let yourself go!

  • I cannot believe no one else did that before Dorothy.

  • @DarkUnicorn98 if water could kill the witch. why would she even let anyone have water around at all.

  • After killing 2 witches, Dorothy was subsequently arrested on multiple counts of negligent homicide.... after posting bail in Oz, she quickly beat it back to kansas, which has no extradition.

  • Hard to believe this was filmed before Pearl Harbor

  • I'm kneeling! I'm kneeling!

  • @stormtrooperwilliam Into a trapdoor!

  • Let's face it, Elphaba is the star of this whole thing,

  • Someone get Shirley Phelps some water!

  • does that make Dorothy a serial killer?

  • I don't know why but i find old movies scary..

  • I especially love the scene where she says: No wire hangers :)

  • Imagine how stinky the witch was before the water was thrown..

  • This story should be about monetary system (Wicked witch - Rockefeller, Dorothy - populist, Yellow Brick Road - gold standard). Other claimed this story has nothing with economy, it is about Baums personal life.

"Hansen, Bradley A. (2002). "The Fable of the Allegory: The Wizard of Oz in Economics."

What is this story really about?

  • As soon as Dorothy forges the ring they will sing a different tune.

  • @THX1146

Which would make Toto....the Balrog? @__@

  • ya know in one of the scenes when the wicked witch poofed out the smoke actually set her on fire and almost stopped the film in its tracks

  • This clip has it all wrong. Elphaba would never set Fiyero on fire. ;)

  • @dolphinportkey7

I like to think that it was a pre-arranged stunt to fool the others and that she had Fiyero stuffed with asbestos. Then, when the others were gone, she had him stuffed with straw again. ^__^

  • @dolphinportkey7 True but Wicked isn't canon and that isn't really how it happened its a re imagining and plus even in the book the Scarecrow isn't Fiyero thats only in the play. Thumbs up so everyone is smart enough not to post a comment like that!

  • @BatmanDarkGuardian I know Wicked is a completely different story, lol, don't worry. ;D

  • @BatmanDarkGuardian. I know all the Wicked comments on here are ridiculous. Wizard of Oz (both the movie and the book) were written WAY before Wicked, and Wicked is a revisionist on the story. Both stories are fiction, it's not like Wicked is the real account. PEople seem to forget that.

  • @dolphinportkey7 well, in the book Fiyero died and the scare crow is just a scare crow. But, if you want to go by the play instead of the book, whatever.

  • @dolphinportkey7 She may not have known it was Fiyero. In No Good Deed she is really confused at the spells and she doesn't find out about Fiyero until she ges the letter from him.

  • @dolphinportkey7 Either that or she knew the the fire wouldn't hrt him. (:

  • did she say "dont throw that water"?

  • @popsingerstar

Yup, that's what she said all right.

  • u know she never touched dorothy or them if i was the lion id have clawed her in the face

  • Best death scene ever filmed.

  • Oh... What a World What a World...

  • actually, in the book Wicked Elphaba did melt, Fiyero died, and Galinda is never hiding in the corner watching this happen. Gregory McGuire ends the book with the reader guessing if Elphaba did die. The last few sentences are "And there the Wicked Old Witch stayed for a long time." "And did she ever come out?"

    "Not Yet. "

  • Because I am a witch and I love swimming if water got on me I'd be annoyed because it would be cold

  • Was elphaba Wiccan

  • @puppylove2616

    No, she was an agnostic.

  • My sugar is melting, MELTING! Oh! What a world! Oh...sugar....oh...oh.....

  • the witch is elfaba right?

  • I got 99 problems, but I witch ain't one

  • HAHAHA! she didn't die! Hey Fiyero, come back later & we'll partay!

  • Wow, I never actually knew that water was the witch's weakness!

Fiyero: Water would melt her?! People are SO empty-headed they believe in anything!

  • OH! I meant to!

  • THIS. IS. NOT> WICKED. TAKE YOU WICKED COMMENTS TO A WICKED VIDEO. Thanks. >_>

  • It would have been so funny if she said "I'm going! I'm going! I'm gooooone!"

  • Shes not dead ^-^ Its a plan Eplaba and Fiyero <3 :)

  • @GamerNerd121 Where do you see Elphaba? All I see is an evil witch who tried to kill four innocent people. :/

  • @LaneCormier Its just...u have to see Wicked first :O And like...you get everything then...

  • @GamerNerd121 I've seen Wicked and they are not the same thing. Seriously, The Witch in the Wizard of Oz is a complete and utter biz-snatch. Do you honestly think she has good intentions in this movie?

  • @LaneCormier nope, i saw wicked it was a great movie. your right the witch in the old one is evil to the core. yet wicked was a Great. seems like dorothy should be in jail for killing two people lol. for those who have not seen Wicked you should check it out you won't be disappointed at all.

  • For some reason I feel like I'm in the Wizard Of Oz World because my life I feel like I'm the scarecrow, my friends that they are twin brothers are the Cowardly Lion & The Tin Man, my ex girlfriend is the Wicked Witch of the West believe me she dose look that don't ask why & my female friend I have been thinking of latley is Dorothy & don't even ask but her pet rat is Toto. Its really scary & weird I think

  • lol thats what i do every time it rains :D

  • Not Elphaba :'(

  • A new 2012 version is being made. Cast in the role of the Wicked Witch of the West is Nancy Pelosi. It's a real bargain as Pelosi will not require any makeup or guidance - just Nancy being Nancy.

  • "What a world, what a world!"

  • and Glinda is hiding around the corner witnessing this

  • She's subliming--not melting.

  • "The last to go will see the first three go before her!" lmao!

  • Awesome! I just LOVE Margaret Hamilton! She's one of my favorite actresses!

But i've always wondered what happened behind the scenes after she melted. Since her costume is gone, did she come down naked? Hopefully she had a mini dress on or something to cover her up!

  • "So much happened before dorothy dropped in"

  • i always wondered why the tin guy didnt split the witches head open with his axe.

  • @Bribickhed6 lmao that made me laugh dude

  • She Had Her Fingers Crossed @ 1:08

  • you cursed bratt, look what you 've done,I

'm melting ,mellting, melting!Margaret Hamilton was the greatest witch ever!!!!!!!

  • Guess she doesn't get out much when it's raining?

  • OMGee! Right After Margaret Hamilton yells "Don't throw that water!" and we hear the quick suspense chord, you can see in the flash close-up insert of her where it looks like Victor Fleming is throwing a cup of water on Margaret!

  • @GHolcombe ...and two Winkie Guards disappear from behind her in the next wide shot. Oh Continuity!

  • So it took very little water to kill the witch. If someone spits on her face, she'd still die.

  • the wizard represents the jews of hollywood who appear all-powerful but are weak, old weirdos once the curtain is lifted.

  • Do you have any Wicked Witches in your life you'd like to through water on?

  • If that splash killed her, then she should have died long time ago since the air is filled with moisture.

  • Comment removed

  • Now Fiyero needs to get away from that farm girl and go meet Elphaba!!

  • We all know that Elphie's just melting to go meet Fiyero and save the Animals.... I need to calm down and listen to some Wicked music before I throw a brick at my computer screen. Sorry, I'm obsessed with Wicked.

  • Re watching this.... damn this movie is corny.

  • if dorothy was black and "didn't mean to" kill the witch, she'd still be in deep shit.

  • @lordbazzelbottom

Tasteless comment for a classic movie. Shame

  • @summer20105707 Oh come on, it was a joke.

  • So...only a little splashed on her face. How the hell did that melt her entire body?

  • @BlackStarPrincess100

the wizard of oz represents the jews who run hollywood but who appear all-powerful.

  • @The096757 Spoken like a true NAZI!

  • die bitch.

  • Elphaba pretended to melt as a way to escape from Oz and start a life with Fiyero

  • @broadwaymike92

only in the musical! it's different in the book.

  • I wish the witch were more accurate in what she says (even as she dies). She is not melting; I don't see a puddle on the floor. Rather she is sublimating and should say so!

  • @DraagonFli oh now!!! if she would have said " im subliminating im sibliminating"!!! " it wouldnt sound as poetic now would it.

now which kids are going to re-inact THAT scene ? huh?

  • poor elphaba, and to think she was going to defy gravity

  • @Avatarwarriorcat was that her plan? she was on the broom

  • If she cant bath i bet her pussy fucking stunk

  • @GodofJin she didnt have one more than likely

  • Taye Diggs is hiding under the floor, so it's all good...

  • R.I.P she - devil

  • FIERROOO!!!!!!!!

  • 0:40 the witch looks like a small plump munchkin

  • All I can think of now after The Witches Guards yell "HAIL TO DORTHY, THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD"...The Guards take-off all their Guard Suits, Green Masks, and it's revealed that they're ALL Black People, dancin' in their underwear singing "Brand New Day". (I'm sorry...I like "The Wiz" as much as "The Wizard of OZ", so if Hollywood ever remade a version of "The Wizard of OZ"...it should be "The Wiz").

  • @eeeeeeclapclap the wiz sucks fuckin dick this one is fuckin masterpiece

  • At 0:09 The Witch has such a "Your ass is grass" look on her face :)

  • "Who would've thought that a small amount of water would ever fall on meeee..."

  • NOOO ELPHABA!!!

  • What a world, what a world.

  • Bit of a drama queen huh?

*Someone throws water on her* "AHHHH IM MELTINGGGGG!!! HEEELLLLLP!!!"

You could just get a towel...

  • hmm, where did the bucket come from???

  • i'd hit that...... the witch i mean

  • my youtube is not working well. Is it for everyone??

  • what a great actress she was

  • Comment removed

  • "She's dead. You killed her."

"I didn't mean to kill her, really I didn't. It's just that he was on fire."

good thing those guards hated the witch cuz that excuse wouldn't have held up well in court :)

  • @OneEyedGecko Seeing as how Dorothy was a minor and it was unintentional, AND the Witch was gonna kill her, it MIGHT have.

  • How did she bathe?

  • @inuyashaslvr read Wicked ;) she uses oils

  • @inuyashaslvr According to the Wicked book she used a special oil to bathe in, I know it's not canon but still it's a good idea :)

  • She doesn't need to touch the water to use it.

If you use fire to cook your meals, you'll be smart enough not to physically touch the fire.

  • @saolili I always felt she had a watery death planned for the Tinman.

  • @littlebit19801 Water can't kill the Tin Man. It can only rust him.

  • @saolili It could put him in a lot of discomfort and a LARGE amount might could rust him to death or keep him rusted paralyzed for ever, so that's why I've always felt she had water there, to pour on him.

  • ....why is there water in her castle to begin with? o_O

  • @MRauTObt Maybe she needs the water for her soup - for magic spell purposes.

  • @MRauTObt Well she was gonna kill the whole group and apparantly she was gonna kill them with what they are the most vulerable to, she put fire on the Scarecrow, so I assumed she was gonna use WATER on the Tinman to rust him to death since that's what is most toxic to him.

  • in the middle of 0:26 and 0:27 there is a flesh coloured hand in the camera - muuch to close to have been Judy's hand - i think that is so cool

  • she didnt dies she fell threw a trap door and lived happily ever after with the scarecrow according to Wicked

  • @TheSecretlyBlonde: musical-only, since in the book, she still dies & the musical made the tragic story disney-like, complete with a hokey happily-ever-after cliche.

  • evil bitch.

  • Why keep water in your castle if you know it kills you?

  • @Roble30ttt Maybe the Witch needs the water for every day use.

I'm sure in your house, there are things that can kill you. Knives, kitchen gas fire perhaps, chemicals, just to name a few.

  • @saolili But then she'd melt whenever she uses it

  • @Roble30ttt

    Probably for flushing the toilets.

  • @Roble30ttt

Why keep water in a STONE Castle :p

  • @Roble30ttt its like saying why keep knifes in your kitchen if it will kil you ?

  • @rottweilers523 No its like saying let's keep highly corrosive acid in a bucket on the floor in my living room when I have my enemies over who don't know its corrosive. Then lets put some fire hazards around and use them to burn my enemies. Then hope they don't use the bucket to put out the fire even though their friend is in danger and the bucket seems perfectly harmless.

  • @Roble30ttt It had to finish somehow! :P

  • You know, as much as I love Wicked, I'm really irritated to see that the two top comments, as well as a plethura of other comments on here, are made by people who can't seem to make the distinction between this 1939 Judy Garland classic, and the show that is currently on Broadway. It's unfair to try and compare the two. MARGARET HAMILTON'S WICKED WITCH IS NOT ELPHABA. Get it through your heads and be done with it.

  • @KekoaOnorati Thank you! I love Wicked and Elphaba but please, don't blur the boundaries, it's not like Wicked is the true story, both are fictional and Wizard of Oz was written WAY before Wicked (almost 100 years before) and the movie is made about 60 years before. So enough with the Wicked comments on here.

  • Why is it zooming so close to her face o-O

  • She didn't deserve it....after all, she had a dream of defying gravity....now she's dead

  • "I heard her soul is so unclean, pure water could melt her!"

  • After the screen goes black...

FIYEROOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!! NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!!!

  • Lmfao, poor Fiyero, you silly motherfucker <3

  • Never get's old....

  • What's Judge Judy doing here? lol

  • @ addnamehere...what's an "affaird"...lol1

  • I like how the broom moved

  • dont burn the scare crow!!!! you love him!!!!!

  • Guys... Wicked doesn't jive with The Wizard of Oz at all. If anything, it's an interesting examination of Goodness and Wickedness filtered through the characters of Oz. But taking Wicked into account... Elphaba just knowingly set fire to Fiyero. And what about all those bloodthirsty witch hunters? The citizens of Oz are supposed to be pacifistic farmers!

  • THIS IS THE SHIT. I swear to God. If the media makes a redo version of this, like with Dirty Dancing and Footloose, I'll go to L.A., wait outside their studios and start yelling at them the moment they come out and hope they realize the shitty people they are -_-

  • I loe this oartt of the movie

  • Who would of ever guessed a small amount of water would ever land on meeee?!

  • bit dramatic there elphaba? we all know u were faking it ;)

  • IT'S A TRAP

  • Is it just me, or did that witch mentally scar you, just the same as the child catcher did in chitty chitty bang bang, from the ages of 6 till about 12. Bloody scary characters.

  • @letshakehands Hell, yes! Me too. I used to dream about her!

  • the witch of the west is dead. the wickedest witch there ever was, the enemy of all of us here in oz is deeeeeeeeeead.

  • The Wicked Witch must have made an account and disliked this somehow.

  • I don't mean to be horrible but I used to think that the Witched Witch of the West looked like my mum. She used to have the same nose and has the same chin as her. The weird thing is, mum agrees.

  • DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!

  • i am going to say this right now, i used to be terrified of the witch when i was 5. she scared the crap out of me

  • @Skullkid12349 me too i watched this movie in school and she scared me.

  • @Skullkid12349 That's why is a great movie. She's supposed to scare the crap out of you.

  • You know, if she knew water would kill her, wasn't it a "not so smart" idea to, i don't know, have a bucket of water lying around? lol
