Unlike a movie, Wrestlers don't have extra protection, and don't have object or set-up that are gonna be adapted to their needs. When you have a pro-wrestling match, you don't have a special environement, you know you're gonna take hits, throws, suplexes, real techniques and land on a ring made of metal and wood.

But I see why you don't get it, you have never been in a wrestling ring. You have to get in the ring to fully understand.

I loved this idea. How the producers gave the hardest working athletes in the world an opportunity for wrestlers after college or the olympics to continue their career like the NBA, NFL, NHL, etc. Its sad how it crashed like it did. People now a' days obviously just like watching body builders in goofy outfits put on a soap oprah.

Found an article in a 70s issue of Sports Illustrated not long ago while going through some boxes in storage. Seems they tried something like this back then too. It met the same fate. Maybe someday someone will find the key to making this type of pro wrestling work. I certainly hope they will.
