  • Esto es una joyita!!!!

  • Was this Rob's Robert Plant look?

  • Mother SON, NOT SUN.... 08-22-1975 (Reading Festival)...

  • I'd say it's probably called "Mother Sun",I saw an interview with Halford where he was recounting the early years & said that back then everybody was in to this whole astral projection/inner self exploration,etc...He was refering to Dreamer Deciever but this song sounds alot like that type of concept...I totally tripped out hearing Glenn Tipton doing his falcetto backup vocal parts in this tune too..Excellent treasure you've posted,1000 thanx for sharing this extremely rare JP collectable..

  • Great song!!

And to answer your question the name of the song is Mother Sun it even says on the back of the CD that this is from :)

Theres a video of this song that shows the CD front and back covers if you don't believe me.

  • @alucard1948 Thanks man. Sorry about my bad english but I' m from Brazil ok?!

So, it's "MOTHER SUN", thank you and, as Robert John Robert Halford says: " Keep the Faith!"

  • What a fabulous early piece of Priest, thank you so much for uploading. I don't hear any Queen in this but a lot of Led, only fitting for Halford's early appearance which closely mimicked Percy the Plants'. I wonder how many people in this small audience realised that they were listening to the voice of all future metal, one way or another.

  • big thank you for posting

  • Very Cool! Thanks for posting.

  • mother son

  • Dude, where'd you find this? It's a priceless piece of history!

  • Interesting stuff. I was fortunate enough to catch the band at a couple of gigs pre' Mr Tipton & this tune reminds me of those times. Incidentally, those gigs were supporting the also fantastic Budgie.

  • The only time I ever see 0 dislikes is in Judas Priest videos.... the way it should be

  • exquisite vocal.

  • I think queen sold out but so did preist with turbo lover. The old stuff with most great bands is better.Preist will roast most metal bands got to see their last tour in san diego hope I can get the money for it in this shit economy

  • @Dude I bought the tickets on the lawn at 18 bucks, I think you should check if there still are on there, can't believe I'm gonna see them!

  • @joseenriqueof Thanx for the tip I will see em even if i have to beg for weeks in the street after working all day.

  • @tristanatlaticus

The spelling is PRIEST, NOT PREIST!!

  • Love it! Thanks for sharing!

  • its Mother Sun

  • this is awesome

  • This song sounds a bit like early Queen from Queen I or Queen II LPs. Judas Priest maybe got influenced by them.

  • @UpTheSnakes Run Of The Mill, Prelude, Epitaph, Last Rose Of Summer, Here Comes The Tears, Listen to em, you can imagine that is Queen.

  • @UpTheSnakes Yeah and Queen took the bassline for Another one Bites The Dust from Nazareth's Waiting for the Man. And Freddie Mercury took his vocals from Ronnie James Dio just listen to Elf Driftin. Queen was influenced by Nazareth as well. And Priest is far better than queen instrumentally and vocally by far far vocally.

  • @UpTheSnakes you are crazy ?

  • @FanOfJudasPriest

why not, queen is pop-rock but it has vocals similar to heavy metal vocals (high and melodic), and queen rocks!

  • @1231robi Hell, if you listen to Gimme The Prize, they even touch upon metalesque style a bit.

  • @GTAfan421

    agree :)

  • @1231robi it's true, rob halford always looked to freddy mercury . you can see in some poses he did in seventies and eighties

  • @hovogliadileggere

I wouldn't be surprised if they looked to each other. Didn't Mercury adapt the biker look for "The Game"?

  • @eveningtsar I was watchign an interview with Rob Halford and he talked about it, how Judas Priest and Queen were doing the biker look and Rob and Freddy both agreed that they couldn't both do it. So Rob challenged Freddy to a motorcycle race. There never was a race but Freddy Mercury dropped the look.

  • Reading Festival 1975. Outdoors. Glenn used to sign backup occasionally in those early years so it might be him behind halford.

  • Unbelievable! Obviously a bootleg. Sounds like an and outdoor concert festival.

More importantly, -WHO- was singing harmony with Halford. (a kind thank you to the bootleggers of the world without which this would not be possible)

  • thank god they found the distortion button and cranked it to 11

  • I wish Priest would properly record this song.

  • Yes, it sounds like a fucking PUB...stupid people bla bla bla, talking, eaten and drinking.

  • GODS!

  • mother son...from what i know...

  • wow GREAT SONG LONG LIFE JUDAS PRIEST

  • it sounds like the same gig as the dreamer deceiver on here with the people talking over the music. Priests humble roots.sounds like a pub. its nice to hear Halfords voice clean. its easy to hide behind distortion and volume but he pulls it off live. it be nice to hear a studio version of this one.

  • it sounds like the same gig as the dreamer deceiver on here with the people talking over the music. Priests humble roots.sounds like a pub.

  • Thought it was "son" as in the opposite in daughter. ^_^

Still thanks for the upload - I need the non-live version for a Judas Priest Tribute gig so I can hear the lyrics properly ^_^

  • I never saw Rob with much hair like this....

  • Hey buddy, sorry about my bad English ok?! I´m from Brazil and i' d like to ask you what is the correct name of this song: "Father, Mother, Son" or "Mother Sun" ??

  • @MrGisa123 its mother sun and your english is perfect!

  • @MrGisa123 we don't know for sure, that's why "(mother sun?)"

  • they sound like they are having a merry good time in jolly old england
