@huntman497 We do hunt a lot of other species as well: elk, deer, bear, turkey, etc, on public land. This hog hunt is just a fun, annual event for a bunch of old friends. It is kind of like a "live 3D shoot". Hogs are such pests in Oklahoma, and are such good eating, so it works out.

this is embarrasing. My 12 year old could shoot a fenced hog. Spend the money and go out west. Its half the bill and twice the fun. Texas is where to go.

A twelve year old kid can also hit a target at a 3D range...but adults still have fun doing that as well. A lot of our guys are brand new to archery; it is a fun way to introduce them and have a great time.

I've hunted with David at his place for quite for a few years and had a blast every time excluding the last. Unfortunately, the last time, David and I had a falling out and I haven't been back since. But he does have a nice place. Hopefully reconciliation may be made one day, but two bulls in the same pen cause a headache. Good place though, definitely worth the time to visit.

If its on a ranch... or a farm, don't they usually run fences? If not to keep livestock in, I'd say a responsible owner would run it to keep the pigs from getting to the neighbors ground. Has nothing to do with what PETA thinks... hell, they'd like us to stop hunting whether there is a fence or not. Sure makes me want to go shoot a hog, it looks like a great time. The one pig stuck several times.... makes em look pretty tough.

actually if you think about it a bow an cross bow a quite primitive. an the only thing fancy bout them are the sights(scopes for crossbows) broad heads notchs releases. the modern hunter has made them look fancy by using fancy attachments
Oh yea it deff is! With a bow you should be around 50 yards an under, with a rife you can be like 2-300 yards dependeing on your shot ability, weather conditions, and the rifle your usin.
The majority of the hogs we killed that day were killed with one shot and died within a hundred yards or so of the shot. Some however did require more shots. No one is perfect; some of the hogs were moving; and they are tougher animals than most realize.
I'm not a hunter, but even I know that no animal will die from just one shot on the spot (or very rare if its a perfect shot to the spine maybe). Its part of the hunting to track the injured animal down till it gets too tired to continue running. Same goes for Firearms btw

Yeah, we originally posted it with Guns and Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"...and that was awesome. But, it got pulled due to copyright infringement. So they added this music for us. Not our favorite either...maybe we will try it without music as well.
We actually caught two. One little one tried to charge the guys and got kicked in the head...when he was dazed they grabbed him and got it on film. We let them both go.
