What a fabulous group. They sound great together. The whole approach is so original. They are truly unique. I can't get enough of listening to this album and I'm so glad the videos are here, too.
I think Casey Driesen and Ben Sollee could play anything if they truly wanted to. I checked both of these guys out.
I love their instruments. I think it takes a better ear for music to master cello and violin. My eyes are locked into these guys. I would rather not hear Bela or Abby. I am just here to hear Ben and Casey. Mesmorizing.
Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn seem very culturally conservative. This music is so traditional her chinese music is very traditional. they are so into conservative traditions to the point that I can't love it.
She is not like an artist, just some conservative person singing in church. if they cursed and stripped that wouldn't make them liberal. NYC is very conservative and so is Nashville. extremely culturally conservative. far from opened minded or opened. turn off
If you think the Bela's Flecktones are conservative, you are out of your mind! Thats some of the spaciest stoner music i've ever heard! There are liberals, conservatives, and independents in every small town, in every state. The views that the Sparrow Quartet expresses against our current administration in DC in the song "Captain" are very liberal. However, I still have no idea what NYC has to do with your point...?
Sinead O'Connor's got nothing on these guys! Sinead was a pop artist, with a folk influence, Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet are completely redefining folk music all together!
eh, he still is with them, and just saying that makes him look selfish, which he is NOT. This guy has sat in with hundreds of bands, he wouldn't be so self centered to go and say he doesn't want to play with these guys. He has been all over the world, he would be at least smart enough to say he would be glad to play with them...all to be said
yes...im glad you know that...people all too often do that...as a matter of fact, bela seriously dislikes pop...so it only makes since...but thats just him, washburn is NOT trying to sound like her at all...glad u called that guy down..
wow. what a great band. i was lucky enough to sit on the stage to hear them, dan tyminski, jerry douglas, marty stuart, alison brown, blue highway, and the infamous string dusters. :)

Abigail Washburn is very pro-Obama. Check her myspace page. It doesn't get much more liberal that that. But I like her music, anyway.
