I miss it i miss it all. Back with vanilla wow.The big adventure! Now that you know so much about the game it gets boring. Then new games come out and you leave your old game sitting there on the computer or uninstall it.I miss wow but i have already explored all the world.Wow used to be so fun.Goodbye level 85 hunter D:
For me the best part of this song is at 5:24 because i remember back when me and my friend had just started the game and we were running around dun morough feeling so full of fun and knowing that there was so much more to do and explore... Ah the good old days ill miss them :.)
Sounds like a cool MMO, is it called War of Worldcraft? There could be some awsome expansions, boiling crusade, Anger of the Leech queen, Destrcutionism and u would work on Fog of Pandaria. :D
I encourage anyone who's feeling the nostalgia to check out therebirth(dot)net... it's a 1.12 vanilla server that strives to be as close to the original vanilla wow as possible... don't be turned off by the crappiness of most private servers, there are no instant levels, donations, vote rewards, free gear, xp boosts... just pure nostalgia. One of the least buggy private servers you'll find as well, the people running it are amazing. The closest you can get to experiencing what you once loved...
2:30, i have never really enjoyed this game, until one day i realize the old days are gone, it's just like my life, i haven't ever lived, and i'm not young anymore.
IDC people can call this just a game but this was my childhood and what i grew up on, i dont have pictures , obects or special things to go by all i have is this music and my old in game gear , This is were all my friends were and now most of them are gone and quit . . Love You Guys and I havent forgotten .. you and hope u havent forgotten me nethier
I'm crying in my mind, oh the nostalgia. While it's nice to relieve it with this music it does depress you. Just the thought makes you sad, not finding another MMO that will give you the same feeling as WoW did when you played for the first time. Just hoping Guild Wars 2 will do the same but its doubtful.
I miss those sunny high school days, since I started WoW in the summer. Sure I may regret wasting my study time on this game but it will always be a part of me and I'm glad it was.
breathtaking just listening to this again... remember when you'd duel out here all day with your friends and leveling in that classic quest hub... I miss this!
Vanilla WoW had an atmosphere never before, and never since, matched by any other game, either MMO or otherwise. 50% of the reason for this was the music. I consider it the best music ever in a game. PS WoW sucks ass nowadays.
@Slightylstupid Painful ? Never thought of that, you're totally right. It kind of hurts when the game that you loved so much is dead. But at least it makes us appreciate it even more. This music can makes you cry.
Those 5 notes remind me of when I was a noob dwarf hunter, running around Kharanos, farming those yeti's for their hides with the ridiculously low drop rate.
It also reminds me of when you had to search in channel 4 for 2 hours just to arrange a group for Gnomeregan, and you would either have to run the the instance on foot or on a 60% mount.
some may say wow what a bunch of nerds but whats nerdy about this MUSIC and music makes us all feel good inside and this song reminds me of when i bought this game a long time ago:) but then i lost it but i still list to this musicX)!!!
4:25 is one of the most beautiful moments in the history of game soundtracks. That part alone has such an immense atmosphere, it is almost undescribeable. The climatic part at 4:46 is also incredibly beautiful, I can already picture those high mountains and snow.
I remember my first dwarf character I ever played. Best of times I had in WoW. If only Ironforge had all the things the new Stormwind has... Then the new Stormwind could go to hell, for me.
@MrGuitarfordumies me too vanilla wow was the best, tbc was playable but the things were changing, i hated that all the things that i did with my friends, item won defeating difficult istances were useless because with two quests you got a green better than your epic. I remember with a smile doing mc bwl in 40 and speaking with ts or ventrilo. But the best part of wow was questing doing the 60 level, exploring the world. More the time goes on more the game becames shit like
@MrGuitarfordumies a free to play corean game. If blizzard will do another moorpg i'll try it but i think that i won't play wow anymore, because the differences between the past and now will making me fucking angry. Sorry for bad english
damn, i gotta say this music bring back memories of my lvl 1 dwarf warrior running away from every npc because i though that they would kill me.. vanilla wow will always be the best part of wow! no such thing as itemlvl, dps meter or whatever, no things at heirlooms, before every duel was fun.. i miss this soundtrack and vanilla..
you know i think its bullshit, that i should have to go join a private server. just to enjoy a game now. Come on blizzard it's pretty clear what people want to play...
This song is just amazing. Ill never forget it. Wow may be pretty bad now but man oh man... I remember going into the world for the first time and hearing this. :/
I'm kinda amateur on WoW, but I remember swimming up that river between Azshara and Ashenvale and heard that piano (for some reason) and sought out to find this song!!!!
Being in college now with no free time, i was glad to have witnessed this beauty, to have met so many friends through the game, learned so many little things about the game that now nobody understands unless they played vanilla too.. So many happy memories, when all else failed i had this, and this was simply beautiful.
So glad I got to level to 60 before BC. I almost missed the train...Though BC was actually amazing. It all went downhill with WoTLK, expansions for expansion's sake.
@ironforge10035 - They decided that leveling was just a filler and made the entire game so efficient that places like Loch Modan, Wetlands, Duskwood got forgotten about. Places which during the old PreBC days people used to struggle through for days when nobody knew what they were doing and leveling was fun and not something you had to do before you could start raiding. Though even so, endgame back then was still hilariously fun but sadly got a little old.
@RandomBananas13 - BC was perfect. It was time for a change, 4 years is a little long to farm the same raids over and over. They didnt change it though, they simply added onto the old experience. Then once the money rolled in I think Blizzard got $'s in their eyeballs.
But what a trial it was... I remember long ago this music and that of Elwynn Forest. This is making me so ridiculously nostalgic...
I've always wanted to play WoW properly, but don't because it WILL get in the way of study, and I'm not that social to begin with. I just say to myself:
I'll play sometime, but not yet.
I just count myself lucky that I'm part of a small group of people who will be able to play as a noob again :)
@Robscrob1 Don't listen to the people saying its terrible, you'll be all alone levelling (unless you roll human for some reason) and it'll be disappointing to see all these amazing dungeons (tbc, lk) which will almost never be run again... But in the end, its worth it.
why did blizzard make the mainland so different? none of the other addons changed it. i feel like this game pretty much killed itself when cataclysm changed the maps, quests, etc. of the mainland.Cmon, gnomeragan as a starting point? That's sad.
Nothing.. and I MEAN nothing can beat this music, just every zone felt different and unique and special, and gave you so many memories along with them. I'll miss the old days.
OMG....i want to play again just only to listen this great music, running around Dun..and talking to the dwarves saying to me "keep your feet on the ground"..
Let's see..I must have been 13 when I played it for the first time...I made a night elf and it was the christmas after it had come out. I had played the other warcraft games and I was absolutely CAPTIVATED by what my eyes saw. Back in vanilla WoW on my night elf hunter(derf) I would get paid a gold piece to escort newbies from teldrassil to goldshire.
ill never forget the humbling experience of exploring this world for the first time
@Thecoolguy01 Dude I know EXACTLY what you are talking about, I too made a nelf hunter my first character. And I remember how hard it was to get from teldrassil to goldshire, it was a quest on its own. Good times :(
Even if i don't play anymore, this game was the best game when i was a gamer. It's dramatic to say that but i wish i had a time machine too... Wow vanilla was brillant
Those five high notes, as simple as they are, paint a picture in my mind that can never be erased.
Although I will never play WoW again I'm glad this music exists for me to return to and reminisce about playing with my friends. Never though I'd say it but I wish i could go back to being a noob, being excited to have 5g in my backpack and speaking to every single NPC I passed xD.
Vanilla WoW - gone but most certainly not forgotten.
@lastplacewin yea i kno the feelin, i remember i got 1g and i got all happy, i got into it just as BC was released and i stopped playing 3 months ago, for me cataclysm is the start of wows downfall imo, kinda sad as well, they messed up the old zones that i loved questing in and now with this new expansion pandas... seriously, they're turning a good game into a pathetic one, i guess they're trying to drag it on and make as much money as possible i dont think they care about the gamers anymore
I agree. I really don't care how lore-related Pandaren are - it's a stupid move and will break the game for whatever hopefuls hung around in Cataclysm.
Just listened to this whole track again... oh so nostalgic :(.
@Brady2k10 i think your right i tottaly agree pandas? what the fuck even a little kid these days would think its shit, and the animations are so fucking gay lol haha
@lastplacewin I think you quite possibly read my mind, those 4 high notes appeared in a song on a movie i had just watched, first thing that came to my mind, my first gnome rogue, eco, walking through the snowy fields of Dun morogh hunting frost sabers and just enjoying everything about it, the mysterious planes that lie ahead, the isolation, how frightened i was to even leave the starting zone, it felt so amazing, so mystical, what i would do to go back :(
man with cataclysm they changed the music :(, so right now i turned off music volume and im playing this while playing, still works :) stupid blizz stop changing stuff
Music is the best part of world of warcraft. Its the reason why I will never leave wow for another MMO until Blizzard finally shuts it down. World of Warcraft is more than a game, its hard to explain. I think the makers of the game sold their souls to the devil or something because there is something magical about it
Btw this was one of soundtracks that was played one Blizz off site specifically on the World Map page during TBC. Thats the place i happen to hear this lovely music.
Definately this brings back memories on my dwarf warrior, and the first 2 years of WoW,well i literally gave up school only because of it,simply breathtaking.
I didn't play Alliance that often, but when I did, I loved it. Being that little gnome that has to take long steps to keep up with the big guys, seeing the boars who was so much bigger than me and ofcourse, Ironforge. Seeing the entrance of the city and the people outside it was simply amazing.
the first time i listened to this masterpiece was when i travel to dun morogh as my undead mage mining some stuff in the mines, i was wasting my time back then, but man, this music is still in my head. so nostalgic, i love it ;_;
If you are craving for old wow why dont you play on a private server? I play on a great vanilla private server with 2000+ players on peak, great server indeed.
the time i launched the game for the first time and started a dwarf warrior...... *depressing sighhh...* wow will never be great as it was before burning crusade was said to release..... burning crusade was fine.. but then it was starting to be drained of the- ohh fuck it
@Hobnomb i feel you bro. I've started playing WoW 2 months before TBC, so i don't really know about high-lvl instances and raids but it certainly was fun. TBC was fun too, i enjoyed it the most (How terribly clumsy of me...). And then came Illidan... i mean WoTLK which ruined everything. But i had been patient, I have been waiting, and when the time is right, the Betrayer, will become, the Betrayed.
this song is so emotional i remember years ago i was so amazed by this song and it brought me all the way to where i am today. i wish i could go back to the days when i didnt know everything in wow and was still new and exploring i miss that feeling of being in a vast world with my friends. =( sad but very good memories <3
I remember my first ever character... a dwarf hunter xD i was so shit i didnt even know to leave coldridge valley until like level 6.... then running around kharanos, which now for some stupid reason has a flight path -.- sure its convenient but its not the same, and the new music is sucky.
Vanilla wow was such a fun time in my life xD i dont care if thats sad.
@convictPKlol I don't care about convenience ! when there is convenience there are noobs ! ! ! Cata proves it Ashenvale with 10 fcking flight paths ! !
running through dun morough with my bear at my side, up and down the snowy mountains, barely knowing where i was going, then going into the inn, and hearing the dwarf tavern music, which is just as awesome!

@The0rangePanda Yep, those were the days when making the Wetlands run - in either direction - at level 15 or so was a right of passage.

Perhaps they'll make a realm for WoW classic
jacko5592 6 months ago
@jacko5592 Me too. If they created a server, solely for vanilla WoW, I would burst with happiness :D

Vanilla WoW - gone but most certainly not forgotten.
lastplacewin 7 months ago 118
@lastplacewin yea i kno the feelin, i remember i got 1g and i got all happy, i got into it just as BC was released and i stopped playing 3 months ago, for me cataclysm is the start of wows downfall imo, kinda sad as well, they messed up the old zones that i loved questing in and now with this new expansion pandas... seriously, they're turning a good game into a pathetic one, i guess they're trying to drag it on and make as much money as possible i dont think they care about the gamers anymore
Brady2k10 4 months ago
@Brady2k10
I agree. I really don't care how lore-related Pandaren are - it's a stupid move and will break the game for whatever hopefuls hung around in Cataclysm.
Just listened to this whole track again... oh so nostalgic :(.

@Brady2k10 i think your right i tottaly agree pandas? what the fuck even a little kid these days would think its shit, and the animations are so fucking gay lol haha

bizzeepoo 2 months ago
@lastplacewin I think you quite possibly read my mind, those 4 high notes appeared in a song on a movie i had just watched, first thing that came to my mind, my first gnome rogue, eco, walking through the snowy fields of Dun morogh hunting frost sabers and just enjoying everything about it, the mysterious planes that lie ahead, the isolation, how frightened i was to even leave the starting zone, it felt so amazing, so mystical, what i would do to go back :(

Music is the best part of world of warcraft. Its the reason why I will never leave wow for another MMO until Blizzard finally shuts it down. World of Warcraft is more than a game, its hard to explain. I think the makers of the game sold their souls to the devil or something because there is something magical about it
eyeofthelyger 7 months ago 10
@eyeofthelyger agreed! i keep dreading the day that blizzard announce WoW will be closed off :(

I didn't play Alliance that often, but when I did, I loved it. Being that little gnome that has to take long steps to keep up with the big guys, seeing the boars who was so much bigger than me and ofcourse, Ironforge. Seeing the entrance of the city and the people outside it was simply amazing.

If you are craving for old wow why dont you play on a private server? I play on a great vanilla private server with 2000+ players on peak, great server indeed.

the time i launched the game for the first time and started a dwarf warrior...... *depressing sighhh...* wow will never be great as it was before burning crusade was said to release..... burning crusade was fine.. but then it was starting to be drained of the- ohh fuck it
Hobnomb 9 months ago 5
@Hobnomb i feel you bro. I've started playing WoW 2 months before TBC, so i don't really know about high-lvl instances and raids but it certainly was fun. TBC was fun too, i enjoyed it the most (How terribly clumsy of me...). And then came Illidan... i mean WoTLK which ruined everything. But i had been patient, I have been waiting, and when the time is right, the Betrayer, will become, the Betrayed.
