@LegendaryJellyDonut Hey man I have the custom the pickups are duncan designed. The guitar sounds very similar but could do with an extra kick although changing pickups would be easy enough. It only has one tone knob too therefore you can only coil tap both pickups at once. Still an awesome guitar though I love it. \m/

@dantheamazingful I tried one about a month ago. I found it a bit to raw for modern metal, not smooth enough, verging on muddy. If your thing is old school metal give it a go. But if your searching for a modern metal axe, keep looking.

@guitarfool2294 maybe youre right , well sure , if someone would come to me and ask to pick for free between Gibson or Schecter i would imediatly pick Gibson .. but at that price.... i would get a schecter and put dimarzio super distortion or some other seimor duncan(as bridge) which is better than the stock(better than the stock seimor duncan) and ive got a great guitar forever, well ime still with my parents and they have the posibility to buy me a Gibson but theyre still overpriced..

@guitarfool2294 I'm afraid you may be mistaken on all accounts the artists that you listed most likely have their guitars built by a ghost builder, at least I know Slash does. I highly doubt that gibson ever touched those guitars. They play under the Gibson name because of sponsorship. Look up Ghost Builder for guitars and see what you find out, you'll be surprised!

@guitarfool2294 would disagree. Lets face it, Gibson can make some great guitars, but they can also make a stinker here and there as well. For the price point the Tempest is a fantastic guitar. I recenlt spent some time playing a Tempest Standard that I absolutley loved. Now mind you I have owned several Gibsons. The Tempest IMO is a fantastic "Go to" guitar. t delivers but does not break the bank. Guitars are tools, nothing more.

I have a Tempest Hellraiser and I'm in love with it. Seriously, I wouldn't even trade it for Gibson. Retail puts it over a thousand, but I got it from Guitar Center for 7 hundy. My next guitar is definately going to be a Classic.

I don't own any Schecters but I definitely want one. I like that they cater to various kinds of players and their guitars are usually pretty versatile. Like Scotty said, a lot of Schecters have coil tapping. It's also nice that many of their guitars come stock with EMGs or Duncans for a fair price.

EMG pickups don't have 4 conductor wiring coming from the pickups, mainly because they're trying to go for this sort of futuristic look with their guitars.

but they already have a tempest guitar with 81/85 combo factory installed anyway.

I live in the UK and just tried this the other day without plugging it in and it played really nicely.

Although I play metal, I'd probably get this one as it comes with the ebony fretboard which makes your fingers corner like they're on rails.

In the USA they retail for around $849, and I live in the UK which comes to about £566 however, they sell for £££849 instead....AAAHHHH! and with no case.

It's just a normal bend + a harmonic.

Weight= like a half les paul..so it's NOT a pain, it's very light, compared to a Gibson les Paul...

Defintely you should try it... it's a great guitar

(almost any Tempest is an excellent axe... even the Tempest Extreme which is the cheapest one)
