@aquenwisey ...yes most do ..the doctor explained that since my boy was a premature twin this condition is common. He's actually one of the few that aren't born with more sirious conditions. Some are born with heart, lung or even kidney conditions. Our kids are 5 years old.
@psp10004 Some people don't belive science/medicine should be mixed. My son had his surgery done two days ago .The Dr. Said that he had some complication that only in surgery he'd be able to see how serious they were.We didn't know how far back he had this condition and if he be able to see ok again. The surgery was suposed to take an hour from the time they took him in and it took four hours. The doctor came out and said he was awwed that what he saw at the exams had disapered .Prayer works belive
The patient was under conscious sedation or so called "twilight" sleep. We can adjust it so patients can either be more awake during surgery or more sedated. In either case, they feel nothing.
That little bubble at the end of the surgery is harmless and evaporates shortly.
wow, if the person is awake while this is going down then they would see everything! if it was me then I would be flinching all the way through the precedure
@wmshprd I recently got a new doctor and now they actually know what their doing. So I should be getting the surgery in no time. But my case is more serious and sensitive then any other cataract thou that's why.
The patient was in twilight sleep with a little IV sedation. It is very short acting and they are soon up and alert minutes after surgery. No worries about the air bubbles. They are normal to see and resorb in no time.
Thanks. My dad is having this done soon and the video is very reassuring. Was the patient completely awake during the procedure? Also, I found myself worrying about the little bubble that was left at the end (see 4:55 at about 11 o'clock). Will that just disappear?
No. The patient is blurry throughout the procedure but not blind. All ones sees are lights like a kaleidescope. It's very beautiful according to patients!
Looks very dangerous.

It's not as entertaining with that suction thing as it is watching the surgery pull it out bit by bit, but I suppose entertainment isn't the point!
