When they were trying to move that thing in the beginning, they were all over the place. One was climbing on it, one lifting, one dragging. No cooperating at all. UGH it frustrated me. Give them some direction! Or ritalin!
Classic Sesame Street holds a place deep in the heart of anyone over the age of 30... Such beautiful innocence... So loving all of this old footage...Thank you..Thank you so much...
I remember this one! When I was a kid I thought they were moving a swing set or jungle gym. I guess I was wrong. As a parent now, my first thought is, get off, someone's gonna get hurt! Too funny. Times were so different then. Anyone else have their mom's put their mitten's on strings and run them through their coat's arms too?
Oh yes, the strings on mittens I remember that well! I remember playing like these kids too; moving things about and our mums dressing us in those one piece mud suits..remember those? I was out there rain or shine making mud pies and tumbling about. I also loved watching Sesame Street everyday. Such a wonderful show it was!
Man I have been looking for this one. Havent watched it in 15-20 years. Do you think the writers of Sesame Street just went around and filmed kids playing in the parks, and then put a song to it and threw it on t.v.? Bc that is what it looks like they did here. Could you imagine kids getting filmed now a days playing in the park. They would have parents and police all over them.
Also who cares what they are trying to lift, it makes it that more funnier.
I remember watching this in the mid 80's when I was recording all my segments. It was new at the time, so I wasn't interested in it. Now, it's a 22 to 25 year old classic!
Doesn't look like an A. Looks more like some other unknown structure. I hope someone knows what that wooden structure they're trying to lift is REALLY called.
O MY GOD!!! I haven't seen this in YEARS!
Sawing, thanks sooo much for putting these up. This was such good stuff.

This is a classic! Just think those kids are either pushing or past 40.

at the very end of the video, the one boy stands on the wood pile and ask the camera man, "Does that look like a ship"?

Today's parents would be fussing about the kids getting slivers!

I agree. I would doubt we would ever see something like that on Sesame Street today.

I thought of that first thing as a big "A" when I was little.

Thank you!!! This is a "lost" Charlie Tyson song I've been wanting to hear for a while! Some other great SS tunes by him from the late 70s:
What's It Like to Be in School?
All By Myself (Well, Why Not?)
Listen or You'll Be Missin'
