@cheesemonster2712 yes, you can use Platinum on this game, and you actually CAN use the special Platinum-only pokemon, such as Giratina in Origin Forme - that is, assuming it's holding the item needed for it! Rotom's heat/mow/freeze/etc formes can also be used.

As for the second question.....SERIOUSLY!? Have you NOT read any comments? I've already answered this: Yes it can, although the only difference is that on the DS battle, your trainer will show up as the Platinum character of your HG/SS character's gender. So, if you chose the male pkmn trainer in HG/SS, you'd use the male Platinum trainer in DS battles.

I've connected my HeartGold game to PBR countless times, be it for a DS Battle or to update my pokemon in storage. I'm sure that it'd work for you if it did for me! The only thing you must know is that on a DS battle, if you use pokemon HG/SS for it, the trainer will look like a Pokemon Platinum trainer of the gender of your HG/SS character. That's the only thing, but it barely affects gameplay anyway.

If you didnt have the DS games, then you would have a limited set of options when choosing pokemon. The game hands out a sort of guest card and they pokemon are very mediocre. this game will not be fun and i recommend to not purchase it if you do not own the DS games.

@38rodboy39 You don't technically "transfer" pokemon onto the game. Instead, Battle Revolution "copies" the pokemon data of each pokemon in your boxes, including party pokemon as well. So, for example, a Rattatta in your Box 3, after copying data to the Wii, the Rattatta will still be usable on the DS game, but also the Wii game as well.

It is true that to play this game in any way besides with just rental passes, a DS and pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or platinum game card must be used. I have heard rumors that Platinum doesn't work, but except for Origin Form Giratina, Sky Form Shaymin, and the Rotom forms, it does.

Gameplay is redundant, but otherwise solid, controls are normally user friendly unless you are playing 2 player free battle, and graphics and sound are slightly lacking.

@mrjax107375 No, they can't level up in PBR. Although if you level up a pkmn on your DS game that you have already sent data to PBR with, copying the data again will make the recent pkmn appear. For example, say you copy data to PBR on Pearl version, and one of the pkmn copied is a Zigzagoon. After a while, you train it from level 10 to 30, and evolve it. Copy the data again, and not only will the Linoone show instead of Zigzagoon, but a card using the Zigzagoon will use the Linoone instead.

Despite having both Platinum and this game, I havent tried to see if converting them worked. Im sure Pokemon took this into consideration in creating an expansion series to work with the previous games. So, they most likely thought of Battle Rev, then just thinking being compatibable with DP. And there is no speech during matches. :/
