@RiikChan Checkout our youtube channel, a few weeks ago I posted some real time bandwidth results. Games may very but you'll get quite a bit of time on a 5GB account. The big thing that will chew into that is game downloads, patches etc that use more data. Simply playing the game online with your friends doesn't use nearly as much data as you'd think!
@3Gstore Clear 4g offer unlimited plans, but they throttle your speed. I average 1 mb download and 1.50 upload. I'm paying way too much to getting low speed like that (I paid $50 plus tax per month)
@Clear4GPromo No, pretty much everyone has a 5GB cap. Judging by your name you're a CLEAR users and I'm not sure if they offer unlimited access still (I know Sprint removed their unlimited 4G WiMAX).
We tried verizon and the signal is blocked by something we think it is our metal roof but we are trying AT&T today to see if that goes any better. Btw we are in verizons extended 4g LTE coverage area.
@AdnaPirate2309 Did you try picking up one of our external 4G LTE antennas? If you have a metal roof getting an antenna outside could make all the difference to get a strong reliable signal.
Ok so we are going to get an AT&T USB modem and a cradlepoint ctr35. But I know that I cant have an open nat type with AT&T and I wanted to know if you have joined parties successfully on AT&T. I played all weekend at my grandmas on a strict nat type and joined parties with no problem. I am also right on the edge of verizons 4g so which one do you think I should choose. I have an AT&T tower right down the road so I get really strong data signal. If I can join a party easily with AT&Ts nat type
@AdnaPirate2309 You should still be able to join party's with a Strict, but you may have some issues getting into certain rooms. If Verizon is launching 4G in your area shortly I'd recommend going with them as their 4G LTE service is going to be better than AT&T's (Fake 4G). If AT&T has true 4G LTE in your area then the two should be comparable.
Ya I had a defective MBR95, but only question I have is that I called Cradlepoint Tech Support and they said the NAT issuses relate to the usb modem. I have a LG VL 600, its fast, but has a strict nat. Cradlepoint said to call Verizon and say to open the NAT on the modem that has a fee. This is from Best Buy. I heard a theory that if you keep the 4g usb modem in a 3g state then it gets no strict NAT thing, I recalled when I update the firmware, before firmware update, no NAT warning
I have Xbox Live and am using MBR95 router, connection is fine, but with MW3 it says strict nat type, Ive been looking around for the best way to fix it, but none of them work. Anyone know how to make the MBR95 router have an open NAT instead of strict???
@playstation406 Yes, just look at our compatibility charts for modems that are compatible with Cricket. You can use our router advisory tool to see compatible modems - 3gstore[dot]com/ra
@3Gstore I am thinking of getting a verizon usb modem or a 4G Novatel mifi 4501L or the 4G Samsung SCH LC11 and use one of theses to connect to a cradlepoint router and to my my ps3 slim for online gaming. But I dont know which of these three products will give me more speed. Which item do you recommend for online gaming on the ps3? And which cradlepoint router do you also recommend I want one that will give me good results?
@playstation406 I'd recommend going with the Pantech UMl290 and Cradlepoint MBR95 as a great low cost gaming setup. We can setup the Verizon account and that qualifies you for additional discounts on accessories as well as free tech support for a year! The reason we recommend this setup is because the MiFi's have some issues with a secondary firewall and don't provide as low as latency as direct USB style modems.
@3Gstore Will both the MBR95 and MBR1000 work for ps3. Also I plan on getting a cradlepoint mobile router that will work on the ps3 too which mobile router you recommend? And are there any mobile routers that I can connect to a car and that are rechargeable or that I can power using a rechargeable battery pack?
@playstation406 Yes, both will work, but I'd recommend the MBR95 because it's the newer model and better for virtually everything. The MBR1000 is an old obsolete model that will not receive any firmware updates in the near future for new devices. For a mobile router checkout our PHS300 3gstore[dot]com/phs300
@3Gstore I forgot to mention you could also look at our Tekkeon battery packs if you wanted to use the MBR95 instead of a battery powered router. I did a demo of that product in another video. Search "Tekkeon MP3450i R2 Backup Solution" and it should be the top item by 3Gstore
@3Gstore Im definitely buying the MBR95 but about the PHS300 it has no ethernet port I want one that I can also use with ps3. Will the CTR500 work with ps3? And can I use the Tekkeon MP3450i R2 battery pack with both the MBR95 and PHS300 and the CTR500? Or do I have to use the MP1860CP battery pack for the 2 smaller routers?
@AdnaPirate2309 Nat types really only affect joining different lobbies or voice chat with friends. Lower latency with a Nat type 3, would play better than higher latency with a Nat type 3, you just may have issues merging hosts or joining some games.
@AdnaPirate2309 If you get the Momentum you'd want to get a newer NetBSD router like the CTR35, MBR95 or MBR1400. These are the latest gen router and offer support for the newer AT&T modems.
I have very strong AT&T coverage at my house and I was wondering what is the best USB modem to use from AT&T. I am going with the same cradlepoint router setup you have in the video.
@AdnaPirate2309 The USBConnect Shockwave for an older legacy modem (We have no contract versions available), or if you plan to sign a new 2/yr the USBConnect Momentum. If you go with the Momentum you'll need to be on 3.4.0 router firmware, which we include instructions and tech support if you need help upgrading.
@AdnaPirate2309 See my other reply, if you get 4G at your address then it's a good chance you'll get 4G coverage. Only way to know for sure is find a friend that may have a 4G phone to see if you get LTE 4G at the location.
Finally!!! I'm going to be 15th in BLOPS!!!! Thanks alot bro. But I went to verizons website and it said I have 4g in my area and I was wondering If there is different signal strengths of 4g of it's weather your in the area or not.
@AdnaPirate2309 The map is just a guide, dark red is very good and in the lighter red you may or may not need an antenna. If you order everything with us you'll receive additional discounts on the hardware (Router, Antenna, etc) if you find the signal not up to par. You can call us or email sales[a]3gstore[dot]com for more info. Congrats on 15th, time for MW3 :D
mm i hope someone can help me , a friend lent this to me for a bit and how do i get 4g out of it , when i turn it on it puts it on 3g . do not know much about the thing but when i try to look it up there is really no info on it
@runescapeman210 Are you in a 4G area? If there isn't a 4G signal available it will connect to the 3G network. You can see if the coverage is 4G by visiting 3gstore[dot]com/coverage
Just select your carrier, input the address and see if it even shows 4G at your location.
No worries, if you're not in a 4G area you can still game over a 3G connection, it just won't be quite as smooth. Did you notice if you have 3G in your neighborhood?
Yes, lower end models like the CTR35 will support 16 WiFi devices, 32 for the MBR95 and all the way up to 128 connections with high end models like the MBR1400.
The equipment used for this demo was a Verizon Pantech UML290 3G/4G modem and Cradlepoint CTR35 router. I was located in a Verizon 4G area with a moderate signal of about -80dB. If you'd like more information feel free to send us an email at sales[at]3gstore[dot]com!
@chickmagnet46 At some point I can probably do a video on configuration, but if you need something now we do have a gaming tipsheet with configuration instructions. You can request one by providing your 3Gstore invoice and email us at support[a]3gstore[dot]com.
Hey I Was Wondering If Anyone Could Help Me,I Have A Verizon Pantech UML290 USB Modem And I Mainly Use It for Online Gaming,But I Wasnt Until I Used It While Playing Call Of Duty That I Found Out I Have A Moderate NAT Type Which Makes It Hard To Join My Friend's Gaming Parties Somtimes. Since The IP Address Changes Everytime I Connect to It Is There Any Way For Me To Get An Open NAT Type Through Any Kind Of Network Tinkering?
I'm guessing you're just using ICS to get online then? It's tough to say what the problem is since you don't have any control over port forwarding. It could also be a setting off directly in your PS3.
I game on Sprint's 3G Network on my PS3. I use an MBR-1000. In MW2 I have no lag and 3 bars all of the time. In Black Ops I switch from 2 bars to 3 bars. MW2 has a latency matchmaking system, that's why it runs better. Also, you can reduce ping times a bit by changing your Home Agent. Also, I have Millenicom's unlimited 3G plan, they are a re-seller of Sprint.
@CbkShadowxNight Yes I use a USB modem, the 598U, it has an external antenna port which I use a 24dbi directional antenna. I had Sprint for 2 years but at $61.43 including taxes and all for a 5 Gig limit was horrible. So I went with a re-seller called Millenicom, I just gave them my device ESN and they hooked my modem up. $69.99 a month, no contact, no taxes and unlimited gigs. Get a router, mbr-1000 and you will get more speed, and connect multiple devices. It works very well for gaming.
hey matt, i have the ctr35 hooked up to a att lightning 305. i connected my ps3 to it but i only get a NAT type 3. i also own a ctr350 but i get a NAT type 2 with it. i would like to get a type 2 with my new ctr35. any ideas on how to do that? thanks for this video
You need to go into the admin interface and under "firewall" enable "Static Nat Ports" and save the settings. That should get you back to a Nat Type 2.
Could you explain (or even better make a video) on how to open up the NAT settings to type 2 or even type 1 for a cradlepoint router, I'm at a loss, I can only find help for linksys and dlink routers. I'm running the new MBR95 with a UML290 on Verizon's network (mainly because of your promotion/advertisement of them) Thanks!
If you picked up your MBR95 from us send us an email over at support[at]3gstore[dot]com and we can send you a copy of our gaming PDF to help you get things configured correctly!
Depends on the game you're playing, but most typically use 50-75MB an hour. That would work out to about 204.8 hours (50MB/hr) to 136.5 hours (75MB/hr).
You can optimize the connection and open the correct ports, which could potentially help with the lag. Using a router also allows you to place the hotspot in a different area of the home where you might get better reception, which can sometimes result in better speed/reliability.
@3Gstore it says on the box that it should be 1.4 Mbps on speed but i only gets up to 300Kbps its too slow. i was wondering if the caddlepoint will help get a higher connection.
That's just the advertised average speeds; IE 600-1.4Mbps down and 400-700Kbps up is the typical range for a 3G connection. It sounds like you may have a signal or capacity issue in your area. Have you conducted a site survey yet? You can find instructions here - 3gstore[dot]com/rssi Run some tests and post the results - The goal is to see if better signal results in better performance at your location and how far you need to go before it gets better.
Can I plug a Verizon 4g USB into the Cradlepoint router, then hard wire the router to the PS3, therefore negating using the PS3's Wi-Fi connection? If so, would this reduce latency? Love the video btw. Thanks!
Absolutely, if you watch the other video I did demonstrating a 3G connection you'll see I'm connected via Ethernet. I always prefer a wired connection because it can reduce the latency slightly and gives you the most reliable connection. I'd only use WiFi as a last resort to connect a console for gaming.
One last question and i will be done. Is it possible to go pro on this internet and i was wondering this isn't 3 and 4 bars like the same just 3 bars a bit weaker.
I don't see why not, but you may be at a slight disadvantage when somebody has a lower latency than you. If you're good at the game you should do will with 3G or 4G; 4G just gives you an extra edge over 3G with reduced latency. 3 bars to 4 bars should be a pretty good signal and indicate that your latency to the host is adequate to play.
Just wondering I have virgin moblile and sprint 4g is coming into our area real soon and i was just wondering if 4g was good for gaming because when I research it "4g sprint is good for gaming" they start putting it down. The thing i heard was that sprint 4g was faster then verizons 4g. And if that true do you think its possible to get 4 bars easy. And not lag like crazy.
Sprint 4G WiMAX is much better than their 3G network for gaming. Latency is typically lower on average, which results in more signal bars when you're playing in a game. The latency isn't quite as low as Verizon's 4G network, but it's unlimited so you can game as much as you want without worrying about overages!
I have my mifi on the windowseal, but i get so frustrated when it doesn't work somedays, help me please! also my county is Gloucester VA, just so you know if you can find out when 4g will come for me. thanks.
sorry for the 2 posts, but anyways, it will also sometimes go from being perfect to 1 bar on my mifi device and horrible connection to host on call of duty, I reset the mifi device, 3 bars! Why does it do this? Why do I SOMETIMES get 3 bars and SOMETIMES 1 bar yet it sits in a stationary position. Also it cut off on my neigbor and me at the same time while we were play and he said wtf happened and we couldnt play anymore. its wierd, what is causing this? It also works better from 10pm-10am....
It sounds like you're just in an iffy area. The only other thing it could be is if you're between two cell towers your card may be jumping between towers. Use antennasearch[dot]com to see where the towers are in your area. If you find that you're jumping between towers I'd recommend a directional antenna, then you can point at either tower and use the one that gives you the better speeds/latency! FYI - At my location I can connect to 3 different VZ towers and use this method.
@3Gstore I think you may be right, There are two towers the same length away but one is straight east from my house and the other is south east. 1 is considered a "High Tower" (200ft+) 1 is considered a Medium Tower (100ft+) I bet it is getting from both and when it gets from the lower tower I get bad signal and when I get signal from the good tower I get good signal. It seems this is the problem. I am guessing I can buy a Directional Antenna at your online store?
Yes, we offer a variety of directional solutions. If you need any help with a decision email us at sales[at]3gstore[dot]com or give us a call and we'd be happy to go over the situation and what may help give you the most reliable performance.
Hey I have a question for you, I use the MiFi 4150L on the Verizon network. I live in a rural county and usually get 3-4 bars 3g according to the screen on the MiFi device. I was wondering if you could find out when 4g would be coming to my area. Also, my MiFi acts wierd sometimes. On Call of Duty, SOMEDAYS I will get 3 bars constant perfect no lag awsome. SOMEDAYS I will see 2-3 bars and a drop to 1 bar every 30 seconds or so. And SOMEDAYS I can't even play to where it is unplayable.
Stay tuned at 4Ginfo[dot]com for the latest news on the Verizon 4G LTE network. It sounds like at times you may be seeing a ping spike. Have you ever ran a ping test when you notice the service is unplayable? I'm betting when it occurs you'll find your ping spiking around 400-500ms
Ping spikes are a result of to many users on the network at a given time. It causes a bottleneck and there isn't much you can do besides calling your carrier and filling a ticket. I bet this is happening to you mainly during high usage hours right?
@3Gstore yea, mainly during the day, for funny cus mostly all day today ive gotten 3 bars perfect on call of duty, it ended up not working after about 5 hours but i was done anyways. its not working right now, says 1 bar on my device, but yea mainly during the day i get bad signal when playing call of duty (not today), what does this "ticket" do?
One bar on the phone itself or one bar within the COD menu? If you're referring to the menu on the game, that signal bar is rating your latency to the host. As your latency goes up you'll see the signal bars in the game drop. This would relate directly to the ping spikes I referred to earlier and there isn't anything you can do on your end to combat them. If the one bar you're referring to is on your phone then we do have amplifiers that may help, but won't improve your latency.
@3Gstore thanks for the help and replys, I read that Verizon plans to have all 3g areas to have 4g by the end of 2013 I believe? Hopefully they will expand it to me in about a year, I have 1 more question for you. Do you always get the same amount of signal strength on your MiFi device when you turn it on? Mine gets 3-4 bars usually but sometimes it will randomly get 1 or 2 bars for no reason for a couple hours, of course I use my booster (Wilson Sleek) but that doesn't improve latency. Yes, I
@3Gstore talking about the Verizon MiFi device (phone) itself. Usually when I have 1 bar, my booster makes it 2 bars, 2-3 and 3-4 (max signal strength) I have also found out that when using my signal booster when gaming seems to make the latency a bit...jumpy (3 bars - 1 bar - 2 bar - 3 bar - 1 bar) but when I take it out of the booster and put it where I usually put it and get the occasional 3 bars instead of max 4 on the mifi device, the latency bars on the cod menu stay between 2-3 (mostly 3)
@3Gstore and yes, thanks to you I realize that it is ping spikes causing the problem and I cannot fix this and have to deal with it and just hope that I get good latency. it seems now that my Verizon MiFi wants to get better latency during the day rather than over the night now, wierd but OK. Seems I just need to be on at the right times, thanks for your help, if I need something for my MiFi services I will use your store in the future, again thanks.
Just to let you know we carry the Evo Shift, which would also qualify you for an additional discount on a router purchase. If you have any questions about the Evo Shift send us and email or give us a call!
I've been thinking about getting the Sprint 4G but the mobile hotspot costs like an extra $30 a month...how can I still use the 4G on my ps3 but not pay to for the hotspot..is that where your router things come in? I am technologically challenged and need some help lol. Do the routers plug into your phone or something? I dont get it...
What smartphone are you using with Sprint? You'd just need to enable the hotspot or download an application that will allow you to turn your phone into one. The router would then allow you to convert that signal into Ethernet out and give you a better overall gaming experience vs the phone direct.
ok, so there is a 5gb monthly limit for this..and im worried that if i play games using it, it will go over that. Would playing games or using xbox live use up alot of that in a short time?
It really depends on the game that you'll be playing. We find that most games only use about 50-75mb per hour, so at 75mb per hour that would equal about 68hrs of gaming per month on 5GB of data. You can also check out our "What does 5GB get me?" here - 3gstore[dot]com/5gb
Thanks for the video. Verizon 3G is my only option and I'm sick of it. This looks promising. What distance does the 4g signal travel from the tower? And have you tested any of the 4g mifis devices (instead of using cradlepoint) with the ps3?
The MiFi devices like the 4510L do work, however, without the aid of a router to do proper port forwarding don't yield the same experience. Also, distance is hard to predict depending on the topology in your area. IE - Out West in flat areas a tower is going offer a much larger coverage area than a tower that has several tree's and mountains to go through.
i use a metropcs phone with 4g haha of course its been rooted though

@AdnaPirate2309 See my other reply, if you get 4G at your address then it's a good chance you'll get 4G coverage. Only way to know for sure is find a friend that may have a 4G phone to see if you get LTE 4G at the location.

Finally!!! I'm going to be 15th in BLOPS!!!! Thanks alot bro. But I went to verizons website and it said I have 4g in my area and I was wondering If there is different signal strengths of 4g of it's weather your in the area or not.
AdnaPirate2309 2 months ago
@AdnaPirate2309 The map is just a guide, dark red is very good and in the lighter red you may or may not need an antenna. If you order everything with us you'll receive additional discounts on the hardware (Router, Antenna, etc) if you find the signal not up to par. You can call us or email sales[a]3gstore[dot]com for more info. Congrats on 15th, time for MW3 :D

mm i hope someone can help me , a friend lent this to me for a bit and how do i get 4g out of it , when i turn it on it puts it on 3g . do not know much about the thing but when i try to look it up there is really no info on it
runescapeman210 3 months ago
@runescapeman210 Are you in a 4G area? If there isn't a 4G signal available it will connect to the 3G network. You can see if the coverage is 4G by visiting 3gstore[dot]com/coverage
Just select your carrier, input the address and see if it even shows 4G at your location.
3Gstore 3 months ago
@3Gstore No I'm not , when i read up on it i was like wow i feel like a dumb ass , but thank you
runescapeman210 2 months ago
@runescapeman210
No worries, if you're not in a 4G area you can still game over a 3G connection, it just won't be quite as smooth. Did you notice if you have 3G in your neighborhood?
3Gstore 2 months ago
Yes i have 3g , all games it works good with sept shooters
runescapeman210 2 months ago
@runescapeman210
You should be able to play over a 3G connection as long as the latency is good. What type of hardware are you currently using?
3Gstore 2 months ago
can you connect from an ipad or tablet as well, please respond ASAP for im thinking of getting one.
betopelotaz1 3 months ago
@betopelotaz1
Yes, lower end models like the CTR35 will support 16 WiFi devices, 32 for the MBR95 and all the way up to 128 connections with high end models like the MBR1400.

@saywhat1249

Since The IP Address Changes Everytime I Connect to It Is There Any Way For Me To Get An Open NAT Type Through Any Kind Of Network Tinkering?
decoy123123 4 months ago
@decoy123123 What router are you using to get online?
3Gstore 4 months ago
@3Gstore dont use a router,its a usb modem so i just use an ethernet cable to connect it to my ps3 and thats all i needed.
decoy123123 4 months ago
@decoy123123
I'm guessing you're just using ICS to get online then? It's tough to say what the problem is since you don't have any control over port forwarding. It could also be a setting off directly in your PS3.
3Gstore 4 months ago
I game on Sprint's 3G Network on my PS3. I use an MBR-1000. In MW2 I have no lag and 3 bars all of the time. In Black Ops I switch from 2 bars to 3 bars. MW2 has a latency matchmaking system, that's why it runs better. Also, you can reduce ping times a bit by changing your Home Agent. Also, I have Millenicom's unlimited 3G plan, they are a re-seller of Sprint.
Dexter9209 5 months ago
@Dexter9209 May i ask do you use the usb modem and how much per month?
CbkShadowxNight 4 months ago
@CbkShadowxNight Yes I use a USB modem, the 598U, it has an external antenna port which I use a 24dbi directional antenna. I had Sprint for 2 years but at $61.43 including taxes and all for a 5 Gig limit was horrible. So I went with a re-seller called Millenicom, I just gave them my device ESN and they hooked my modem up. $69.99 a month, no contact, no taxes and unlimited gigs. Get a router, mbr-1000 and you will get more speed, and connect multiple devices. It works very well for gaming.

I used my evo 4G with wimax and it played real well with a good signal. No lagging. Wimax and LTE is definitely a good experience 4 online gaming

hey matt, i have the ctr35 hooked up to a att lightning 305. i connected my ps3 to it but i only get a NAT type 3. i also own a ctr350 but i get a NAT type 2 with it. i would like to get a type 2 with my new ctr35. any ideas on how to do that? thanks for this video
bmayne0481 5 months ago
@bmayne0481
You need to go into the admin interface and under "firewall" enable "Static Nat Ports" and save the settings. That should get you back to a Nat Type 2.
3Gstore 5 months ago
Could you explain (or even better make a video) on how to open up the NAT settings to type 2 or even type 1 for a cradlepoint router, I'm at a loss, I can only find help for linksys and dlink routers. I'm running the new MBR95 with a UML290 on Verizon's network (mainly because of your promotion/advertisement of them) Thanks!

How much gaming can you get in with a 10gig cap on VZLTE?
raidergeek24 6 months ago
@raidergeek24
Depends on the game you're playing, but most typically use 50-75MB an hour. That would work out to about 204.8 hours (50MB/hr) to 136.5 hours (75MB/hr).

i have a 3G wifi hotspot can i connect it to a router in the back with the usb and get a better connecton.
TheKillermonkey3 7 months ago
@TheKillermonkey3
You can optimize the connection and open the correct ports, which could potentially help with the lag. Using a router also allows you to place the hotspot in a different area of the home where you might get better reception, which can sometimes result in better speed/reliability.
3Gstore 6 months ago
@3Gstore it says on the box that it should be 1.4 Mbps on speed but i only gets up to 300Kbps its too slow. i was wondering if the caddlepoint will help get a higher connection.
TheKillermonkey3 6 months ago
@TheKillermonkey3

Thanks!
MrTeacherDude 7 months ago
@MrTeacherDude

Is it possible to go pro on this internet and i was wondering this isn't 3 and 4 bars like the same just 3 bars a bit weaker.
terminator51763 7 months ago
@terminator51763
3Gstore 7 months ago
we have a repeater so we will have good signal probably 4 to 5 bars. and we only need to get an new amplifier.
terminator51763 7 months ago
@terminator51763
We only have amplifiers for 3G signal at this time, but 4G amplifiers are just around the corner!
3Gstore 7 months ago
But I will still be able to game good like on black ops get like 3 to 4 bars right?
terminator51763 7 months ago
@terminator51763
As long as you've got a good 4G WiMAX signal you should maintain around 3-4 bars vs 2-3 bars typically on a 3G connection.
3Gstore 7 months ago
Just wondering I have virgin moblile and sprint 4g is coming into our area real soon and i was just wondering if 4g was good for gaming because when I research it "4g sprint is good for gaming" they start putting it down. The thing i heard was that sprint 4g was faster then verizons 4g. And if that true do you think its possible to get 4 bars easy. And not lag like crazy.
terminator51763 7 months ago
@terminator51763
Sprint 4G WiMAX is much better than their 3G network for gaming. Latency is typically lower on average, which results in more signal bars when you're playing in a game. The latency isn't quite as low as Verizon's 4G network, but it's unlimited so you can game as much as you want without worrying about overages!

I have my mifi on the windowseal, but i get so frustrated when it doesn't work somedays, help me please! also my county is Gloucester VA, just so you know if you can find out when 4g will come for me. thanks.
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
sorry for the 2 posts, but anyways, it will also sometimes go from being perfect to 1 bar on my mifi device and horrible connection to host on call of duty, I reset the mifi device, 3 bars!
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@Buckkiller888
3Gstore 7 months ago
@3Gstore I think you may be right, There are two towers the same length away but one is straight east from my house and the other is south east. 1 is considered a "High Tower" (200ft+) 1 is considered a Medium Tower (100ft+) I bet it is getting from both and when it gets from the lower tower I get bad signal and when I get signal from the good tower I get good signal. It seems this is the problem. I am guessing I can buy a Directional Antenna at your online store?
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@Buckkiller888

Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@Buckkiller888
3Gstore 7 months ago
@3Gstore Thanks, why are these "ping spikes" happening? is there anything I can do to control them?
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@Buckkiller888
Ping spikes are a result of to many users on the network at a given time. It causes a bottleneck and there isn't much you can do besides calling your carrier and filling a ticket. I bet this is happening to you mainly during high usage hours right?
3Gstore 7 months ago
@3Gstore yea, mainly during the day, for funny cus mostly all day today ive gotten 3 bars perfect on call of duty, it ended up not working after about 5 hours but i was done anyways. its not working right now, says 1 bar on my device, but yea mainly during the day i get bad signal when playing call of duty (not today), what does this "ticket" do?
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@Buckkiller888
3Gstore 7 months ago
@3Gstore thanks for the help and replys, I read that Verizon plans to have all 3g areas to have 4g by the end of 2013 I believe? Hopefully they will expand it to me in about a year, I have 1 more question for you. Do you always get the same amount of signal strength on your MiFi device when you turn it on? Mine gets 3-4 bars usually but sometimes it will randomly get 1 or 2 bars for no reason for a couple hours, of course I use my booster (Wilson Sleek) but that doesn't improve latency. Yes, I
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
Buckkiller888 7 months ago
@3Gstore and yes, thanks to you I realize that it is ping spikes causing the problem and I cannot fix this and have to deal with it and just hope that I get good latency. it seems now that my Verizon MiFi wants to get better latency during the day rather than over the night now, wierd but OK. Seems I just need to be on at the right times, thanks for your help, if I need something for my MiFi services I will use your store in the future, again thanks.

Kaboose811 7 months ago
@Kaboose811
What smartphone are you using with Sprint? You'd just need to enable the hotspot or download an application that will allow you to turn your phone into one. The router would then allow you to convert that signal into Ethernet out and give you a better overall gaming experience vs the phone direct.
3Gstore 7 months ago
ok, so there is a 5gb monthly limit for this..and im worried that if i play games using it, it will go over that. Would playing games or using xbox live use up alot of that in a short time?
blueprint0130 7 months ago
@blueprint0130
It really depends on the game that you'll be playing. We find that most games only use about 50-75mb per hour, so at 75mb per hour that would equal about 68hrs of gaming per month on 5GB of data. You can also check out our "What does 5GB get me?" here - 3gstore[dot]com/5gb
3Gstore 7 months ago
Thanks for the video. Verizon 3G is my only option and I'm sick of it. This looks promising. What distance does the 4g signal travel from the tower? And have you tested any of the 4g mifis devices (instead of using cradlepoint) with the ps3?
MrTeacherDude 7 months ago
@MrTeacherDude
