Fully share minds with you, jeremydechavez. Love Schubert from the beginning, and so agree with you that Kam plus Schubert equals infinite wonderful !
I find his posture to be particularly weird at times. This has to be due to where he places his stand. Beautiful playing regardless. Just started this piece. I, too, did not realize Kam was this great of a player. This is a really musical interpretation.
... again ... no matter the Venue ... no matter the accompanist ...( and now ,no matter the Viola ?) good recordings seem to follow Ori Kam. The viola is heard in it's SUBTLETY. Kam is not trounced as so many soloists are in other recordings. And what is especially evident with Kam is his ability to pull expressive phrasing out of his myriad accompanists! Unsurpassed Virtuoso phrasing and perfect tempos. It is Music worth listening to ....
wow, i never realised ori kam was this good! didn't enjoy the pianists playing though. he has the same viola as the lead violist of the berliner philharmonia. (if thats how spell it, i don't speak german)
A beautiful, expressive tone at the beginning! Is that an Iizuka viola? Regardless, the violist certainly seems to know how to pull the best from his instrument. Sophisticated and subtle playing from the pianist as well. Bravo!
Just beautiful. I can't stop listening to it. Schubert is one of my favorite composers, and Ori Kam my favorite violist. Kam + Schubert = Pure Musical Goodness.
