White fish, so that's what it is...

I caught on of these guys last summer, I had no idea what it was. I'm from california, now I live in western wisconsin.

It looked like a big shinner, so I cut it up for catfish bait. Caught 4 pretty big channels with it.. Don't know if they're good eatin, but I know they're good baitfish.

whitefish are pretty good. i like perch the best though (usually the smaller fish are the tastiest)

you should be able to tell me- is there a stripe of strong dark meat under the skin of a whitefish? -and the rest of the fillet is white like walleye?

whitefish are delicious..especially smoked!! my dad's friend is an indian so we can net fish and i would have to say that the tastiest is walleye and then after that whitefish..

Hey bud, we fish a deep channel where all the whites swim through, it goes up to 40 feet on both sides of the channel. Our honey hole for big whites, biggest i seen come out is 11 lbs.
