  • @Walkerboy202 That's what I was talking about that too. Who the fuck cares about the program? it's just a show. I 100% agree with you and 0% of disagree.

  • End scared me

  • The end scared the living daylights out of me. I was watching happily, bobibng my head, when suddenly Pingu appeared and said, "NUG NUG!" and I yelled "JESUS CHRIST!" and fell out of my chair.

  • (NOT TRYING TO BE FUNNY)

The end scared the living daylights out of me. I was watching happily, bobibng my head, when suddenly Pingu appeared and said, "NUG NUG!" and I yelled "JESUS CHRIST!" and fell out of my chair.

  • I had my speakers on full and the end scared the heck out of me. I was bobbing my head and suddenly Pingu said "NUG NUG!" and I yelled "JESUS CHRIST!" and fell out my chair.

  • Did anyone else notice that Pingu's dad is always ironing, yet they only wear scarves?

  • MEEP MEEP

  • I Remember This :L

  • Ah, so many happy childhood memories

  • @Murdock129 yep too true last time i saw this was about 8 years ago

  • mythicalmistress is the kind of biatch that removed looney tunes cartoons becasue they are "violent"

  • Lol I listened to this on BBC Radio 1 on the radio onNick Grimshaw and Annie Mac's show Yesterday xD

  • Moot moot! <3

  • When i see the crap who go on TV for kids... Full of violence and with completly stupid messages, i think that we have to go back to the past.

If i gonna get kids, i will download all the episods of pingu, pink panther and all...

  • @MrLaveVaisselle goodd idiea i have to wait 10 or more years cuz i am 10 and this is my own account!

i have to wait 10 or more years for that to happen!YAY!

  • nug nug!

  • That walrus still haunts me in my nightmares... Q_Q

  • i used to love pingu when i was like 5

  • NUDE! NUDE!

  • Aww, this is so cuuuute. :D <3

  • YO PINGU WAS THE SHIT

  • This wasn't the original, this was the tune made for the bbc pingu, only british kids will be familiar with this tune.

I grew up with this tune, but it's not the original lol. The original is the one that goes "pi pi pi pi, pi pi pi pi, pingu pingu"

  • @Scullnblades BBC Pingu is original Pingu before it was redubbed. This is the original seasons 1-2 theme, but after redubbing, was changed.

  • So cute. But my brothers and I were discussing how Pingu MUST be harmful to children's development. After all, isn't the point of educational TV so that children can learn to SPEAK? This only teaches them to make vaguely penguin-like noises. I PROTEST THIS.

  • @MythicalMistress No. It never affected my development. Kids are smart. They can differentiate between real speech and penguin noises.

  • @weewhiteyrocks You're completely right, studies have shown that from the age of 2 months babies can differentiate between languages. Not just things like Japanese and German to pick two very different sounding languages, but even ones like Slovak and Russian (provided they have been exposed to one up until exposure to the other).

    NOOT NOOT!

  • @weewhiteyrocks my bestfriends little brother is mute. he talked and made noises until he was 2 years old and started watching pingu.

  • @weewhiteyrocks Nug Nug!?

  • @weewhiteyrocks I couldnt LOL... meeeeeeep

  • @MythicalMistress It teaches about body language and non verbal communication. The fact that children of all languages can watch and understand the story is cool and educational in its own way :)

  • @MythicalMistress also they were speaking in a different language, it was gibberish to us but in it's home country they made perfect sense

  • @MythicalMistress go to hell

  • @MythicalMistress Guess it makes you think about the story, rather than just listen. Teaching kids to use their imagination can only be positive. How it could be harmful is beyond logic.

  • @MythicalMistress have you seen in the night garden and the teletubbies!? =P They're worse, they misuse speech this just doesn't have any!

  • @JoRowlingRocks YEAH! My thoughts exactly! Rather have penguin noises than..... "EH OH, TUBBY BYE BYE NOO NOO". If anything confuses children it's the misuse of ACTUAL language. Children can see that Pingu is an animal making animal noises. Just like a dog would bark... and nobody complains when children live in the same house as dogs in case they learn to bark.

  • @weewhiteyrocks Teletubbies is proven to be beneficial for very young children ;) The noises are easier to imitate than actual words

  • @mojododo85 yeah. The only point i was tryin to make was that kids dont need programs to have real words in them. Pingu is not harmful to kids development.

  • @weewhiteyrocks Yeahh, why not put them in front of eastenders or something, That'll really get there speach going. It was just something to amuse us kids and we didnt have any problems with watching this did we? They were just 5 minute things to keep us amused while our mums did the ironing or something. and they didnt give us to many big words to try and mimick. Never confused me.

  • @weewhiteyrocks yeah ure right im just a kid or a 10 yr old girl (before you ask this is my own youtube account) and i still watch cbeebies or basically pingu mostly

  • @weewhiteyrocks

I agree with you, & in fact, I think on a certain level it teaches better communication than simply words, because it uses tone to indicate the mood, train of thought & context the penguins use when they communicate with each other. Half of human communication is in tone.

Therefore, this program does not lack in any means of education quality :o)

  • @MythicalMistress Pingu is supposed to teach children life lessons, not public speaking, number one, and number two, Pingu is epic, and number three, kids know that people do not speak like Pingu, obviously. I grew up watching Pingu since age 2 and I speak fine.

  • @MythicalMistress penguin noises is secretly the next generation of english O:

  • @MythicalMistress Rubbish. Pingu never had a negative effect on my developing speech as a kid, and I always BMUAH BMUAH MEC MEC, MEC MEC

  • @MythicalMistress But people from different countries could all understand the story, thanks to Pingu not using a "real language". There's no translation needed.

Also, kids tend to learn speech and behaviour from their parents/caregivers. They *can* pick up things from the TV, but if we solely relied on it to learn how to talk, I'd be a top ventriloquist as I'd be speaking with my mouth shut (old series of Postman Pat, Noddy, Fireman Sam, The Wombles ...)

  • @MythicalMistress I can understand what you're saying, but as others have said Teletubbies doesn't particularly promote speech development. It depends on your views on parenting really, for example, some people talk to their babies and children normally rather than using 'baby talk'. As it has been previously said, children can distinguish between the characters in these programmes being animals and therefore they don't talk properly (:

  • @MythicalMistress ARE YOU IN A COUNTRY that only shows educational TV? if so, that's ********.

  • @MythicalMistress Did he discuss this In fucking meeps? Didn't think so.

  • @MythicalMistress @weewhiteyrocks Fuck off! I am living proof of how it did not effect my childhood, used to watch it all the time (and at school sometimes) and I have an A* in Edexcel english and A in Literature at GCSE, so get on ya bike.

  • @MythicalMistress Personally, I'd consider it to be quite stimulating for younger children. When children first begin to read, they look at the pictures and ignore the sounds. It allows them to cognitively be aware of a story process.

  • pingu is the 1 of the best cartoons ever
