I feel sorry for the youth of today having not been able to be a hip hop fan during the days this came out. All 3 elements were alive and well and the music made us THINK...those were the days when record company board room peckerwoods were just starting to realize they can make some real scratch off our culture. The artists, nonetheless had some legitimate power over their product....they would get checks and do what they want and say what they want. Not anymore....that is why the music sucks.
old skool shit mannn!!! normally i dont commont on youtube, but this makes me wanna smoke an old skool rolling paper joint of the purest shit ever!! DAMM!!
94 through 98 was an epic era for real hip hop. some of the best shit was made during that time. then 99 came around and thats when the bling bling era was being born. so sad
I just thought of something. Ruck was giving an interview to a magazine one time and the interviewer asked Ruck if his own son listens to his music? He replied saying no. And that his son loves Papoose better than his own dad. That's some fucked up shit but hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
if u aint have no tims back den u was a fuckin lame!!.....erbody had dreads n army fatigye pants back den wu tang was da shit and you smoked philly blunts!!!........i wish i could go back 4 a week man!!!
i love heltah skeltah, and all of BCC, best rap supergroup ever, i love everyone else, like WU kicks ass, but lyrically street, and flow & beats, Sean P and the rest of the clik are rediculously INSANE, but just like every other group the early 90's to like 97 was the best years for BCC
I'm not bias from any point of view but it depends on whom you're talking about from the Wu. Rae, Meth, Inspectah Deck, GZA, and Ghost are as lyrical as anybody in the upper echelon in the game. UGod, Master Killa, and RZA are not so much as capable. I won't even mention ODB. Lyrics weren't his main objective: shock value was. RZA is better lyrically than Killa and UGod but his flow is his downfall....Those are my observations.
wu tang what the fuck they was on that pointless spaced out shit there music wasnt better than mobb deep or bcc rza and ghost are the only ones i would mention from the wu and they both had 2 hot lps and that was it
sry man i wouldnt say nothing comes closer... im pretty sure wutang is above all other rap ... number one on a diff level then theres all of these guys bcc , onyx, mobb deep, masta ace, blackstar
i agree. this is the best track on Nocturnal. This beat just makes me think of Amazon forests or some beautiful scenic shit. Then with the rugged rhymes.... pure illness.
Interesting you mention jungle/forest. This beat brings images of tall buildings, New York city night life, street lights restarants seedy back allys and just cruzin on the highway or streets with cigarretes and beer/weed in the air feeling mellowed out with your best friends.
you're absolutely right man, that's how i feel everytime i listen to my copy. especially soldiers gone psycho. for me, that track really defines 'nocturnal' and the grimey image and sound. best album ever right here.
