I was unsure about this series (much like I was with Batman Brave and the Bold) but I warmed to it and found that I enjoyed it as much as the originals. It was an interesting take on a classic cartoon.

But the reason was kind of because many animated shows that I've seen with this kind of animation usually tend to suck somewhat and it SEEMED to copy Bay's film. But THANKFULLY I was 100% wrong. This even brought couple nice nostalgic feelings I had from Armada, which was my very first Transformers show.
i like the theme and idea, but how the characters look like people? i mean i dont want it stiff, but make them more bulky u know? so they look like robots

I grew up with G1 but to be quite honest, G1 took itself so seriously it came across as a bit cheesy. Animated might look cartoony but the storyline its way better than the original and the series is EASILY the best version of transformers in my opinion. Much has been said about the mouthpiece, but in a way it adds certain personality to the characters. The characters are very memorable and the backstory on Prowl, Optimus, and especially Ratchet is worth seeing. This is how is done. great show.

Most people here are blinded by nostalgia. I had never seen any Transformers show before this one. I watched it, then I watched G1. I find this far superior to G1 in every way. Take off the rose tinted glasses people. This show actually had a good plot, good character development, and the ability to actually tell the characters apart!

@Teddywolf You know, I wouldn't mind if everyone had their faceplate up all the time. It would look more robotic because you couldn't see the mouth. In fact, what if the faceplate was actually hiding a speaker behind it? I would like that. They need to try something like that next time.

If one is able to look past the incredibly goofy looking forms of the TFs in this..It actually brings back a lot of G1,and beast wars and such. Hopefully letting the characters get recognized again will make them more prominent in future series

@TheHappyLittleKitten Wow, you don't sound like a G1 fanbrat at all. The fact is that G1 was a cheesy 22 minute toy commercial that had terrible animation and little ongoing plot that got popular.
It had redeeming qualities, such as a unique concept, interesting lead characters and was generally fun. Animated took those good qualities and put a new spin on it, just like every other Transformers adaptation in existence. Animated isn't perfect, but it's far better then most adaptations.
@destro011 I think I speak for most here when I say "screw you". Animated was a great show, with great acting, great plot, great script (the last 2 of which improved in seasons 2 & 3, 3 being strongest) and a great opening. Don't diss the show if your notions of nostalgia and Saturday-morning breakfast battles with your kid brother are going to obstruct your critical standpoint. I mean, nostalgia's all well and good, but it shouldn't be used as a crutch on which to rag on about another series.
I'm not gonna lie, I never was interested in Transformer shows from the 80s. Well every show was bad in the 80s. But mainly it was because the show was boring and ugly. Transformers Animated, however, looked visually interesting. The designs were actually appealing, since I could actually tell them apart. They all had their own unique personalities. I wish the show could have continued. It had its flaws but I could tell it was getting better each episode.
it's a good theme the series imo was shakey, had it's good moments, and it's bad... but i guess tht could be said for any series... too bad there won't be a season 3... kinda a bummer

@mayhem9024 Actually the animation has the same feel as Samurai jack and Teen Titans. Nothing similar to Armada. As Justice league and Titans, the story is the main attraction of the show. Because is lends itself to be more comical, it can play on more serious and darker themes. This show is actually very dark, especially season 3. Magnus and Megatron are capable of doing anything, so they are not that different. Well written story.

Did anyone notice that they move more fluid in the intro than the show? Optimus's Hammer bends when he swings it, and Bumblebees car mode bent when he went under the Toll gate, thing...
It's nothing new. Most companies spend a lot of money animating the intro so it catches the audience's attention. Once they have it, most people want to stick around to see what the actual show is like. Tried and true formula. Works 9 times outta 10.
Granted, it's also something to be careful with; you don't want to have to put too many spoilers int them either... though it has hasn't stopped people from doing that.
im not the biggest fan of this version. but i agree on that. compare the two (bayformers and animated) and this is a billion times better and better written to.
Absolutely! I was kind of worried, when I first heard that there would be a new Transformers cartoon, that they'd attempt to create a totally new theme song.
But of course everyone knows you can't replace the Transformers theme song. Coupled with the revved up instrumentals and vocals, I think I actually prefer THIS version the best.
Still not crazy about the designs though. The only one I think they got right was Bumblebee's, which looks very slick and fun to watch in action.

@TheHappyLittleKitten Wow, you don't sound like a G1 fanbrat at all. The fact is that G1 was a cheesy 22 minute toy commercial that had terrible animation and little ongoing plot that got popular.
It had redeeming qualities, such as a unique concept, interesting lead characters and was generally fun. Animated took those good qualities and put a new spin on it, just like every other Transformers adaptation in existence. Animated isn't perfect, but it's far better then most adaptations.

@destro011 I think I speak for most here when I say "screw you". Animated was a great show, with great acting, great plot, great script (the last 2 of which improved in seasons 2 & 3, 3 being strongest) and a great opening. Don't diss the show if your notions of nostalgia and Saturday-morning breakfast battles with your kid brother are going to obstruct your critical standpoint. I mean, nostalgia's all well and good, but it shouldn't be used as a crutch on which to rag on about another series.

I'm not gonna lie, I never was interested in Transformer shows from the 80s. Well every show was bad in the 80s. But mainly it was because the show was boring and ugly. Transformers Animated, however, looked visually interesting. The designs were actually appealing, since I could actually tell them apart. They all had their own unique personalities. I wish the show could have continued. It had its flaws but I could tell it was getting better each episode.

@mayhem9024 Actually the animation has the same feel as Samurai jack and Teen Titans. Nothing similar to Armada. As Justice league and Titans, the story is the main attraction of the show. Because is lends itself to be more comical, it can play on more serious and darker themes. This show is actually very dark, especially season 3. Magnus and Megatron are capable of doing anything, so they are not that different. Well written story.

well, I like it more cause this Prime's a lot more relatable, he doesn't just automatically start out as the goody-goody two shoes leader, he works his way up to that position in this show. And I just don't like that they didn't have time to fully explain everything about Sari. She's obviously not just some normal Transformer.

Did anyone notice that they move more fluid in the intro than the show? Optimus's Hammer bends when he swings it, and Bumblebees car mode bent when he went under the Toll gate, thing...

It's nothing new. Most companies spend a lot of money animating the intro so it catches the audience's attention. Once they have it, most people want to stick around to see what the actual show is like. Tried and true formula. Works 9 times outta 10.

Absolutely! I was kind of worried, when I first heard that there would be a new Transformers cartoon, that they'd attempt to create a totally new theme song.
But of course everyone knows you can't replace the Transformers theme song. Coupled with the revved up instrumentals and vocals, I think I actually prefer THIS version the best.
Still not crazy about the designs though. The only one I think they got right was Bumblebee's, which looks very slick and fun to watch in action.
