  • @TimelordR I think calling this an "RPG" is a bit of a reach. I recall it followed a common template for consoles of that era: move around a crudely-rendered pers

  • Many weren't aware but you could actually kill the monsters by ricocheting your shots before the they even appeared. Really came in handy in the harder levels.

  • As my Intellivision sits atop my gaming bookcase in its original box (jealous, right?) I still wish I HAD THIS DAMNED GAME!

  • Uh,would you say this is the trailer for an epic RPG? Geesh....

  • Didn't think that the Intellivision had any console RPG's. Thanks for the video.

  • Intellivision...good, underrated console. I've got this cartridge (it came when I got an Intellvision free from a friend-of-a-relative about 10 years ago...this was a few months before they became collectable) but I have never played this game. Not even once. Perhaps I should play it now?

  • this game is SOOOO GOD-AWFUL

  • She just wasted all my arrows!

  • Yeah I've played that.

  • Those children were eaten by witches. For the bible tells me so.

  • lol little girls are such pacificsts

  • game owned. intellivision owned.

  • What a great game that was...memories...

  • Did I just hear: "Eats souls separatly" at the end? =S

  • Roflmao! Awesome.

  • B-17 BOMBER!

  • I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!

  • HOLY CATZ

  • Now in days the KIDS hook it up to the TV for Mom and Dad!

  • Yeah, lolz. It really makes you wonder if we're going forwards or backwards in technology.

  • Actually I meant the bats steal the arrows...

  • That game is hard, no way in hell that little girl gets past even the first stupid rat. I was four when my dad bought this game, and I remember hiding behind the couch when the dragons were close by. I didn't like the snake sounds either. All of the sound effects from this game are ingrained in my memory. Remember counting arrows? Hearing only a few left was disheartening. Those bastard rats would steal them too.

  • Isn't that the kid from E.T.?

  • I'm 99999999999999% sure that is.

  • Holy cats you just killed the dragon...I haven't seen this commercial since it first came out and I remember that line...funny the things we remember.

  • o man i loved this game wen i was a kid good times

  • "HOLY CRAP, You just killed the dragon!"

Imagine if modern video games were advertised like that... "Holy Crap little sister who is 7 years old and never played that game, YOU JUST KILLED SNAKE EATER"

No one would've bought Metal Gear 4

  • She says holy CATS not crap.

  • Sorry typo, I mean HE lol. But yeah its CATS.

  • Great game!

  • I remembered I liked this game as a child....but was their any true ending? Or was it 1 of those games where it would just go on and on and on and on till you turned it off.

  • Yes, it had a true ending. When you got all three part of the Crown in the Large mountain. It would let out the omuinus hum, then show you out on the main map with ,now, your crown.

  • I liked the fact when you could hear the monsters, then almost Piss your pants when they came running after you growling and This was before Doom. Good times!

  • the dragons are loud as hell and even the rats kill you almost immediately!

  • This game was so good for its time.

  • I enjoyed playing this game back in the day. I never saw the commercial back then; if I had, I may have never attained it.

  • WTF?!?!? They're like their folks have to do EVERYTHING for them!

WTF are 7-year-olds doing with AD&D, anyway? Don't their folks know it's bad for children? (cue SpoonyOne)

  • You're right, they should start with DnD first.

  • HOLY CRAP, YOU JUST KILLED A DRAGON!

  • Holy Cats

  • you expect me to play with those controlls?! o_o

  • Is that Elliot from E.T.?

  • fully cats, you just killed the dragon!

im sorry, i didnt mean it...

this looks almost as bad as ET for the 2600 =\

  • (but not in a bad way)

  • it sounded like "Fully Cats!"

  • Aww, she didn't mean to kill the dragon.

Man, I remember this game and how frustrated I was playing it. I love how you fire an arrow, it bounces around and hits you, turning you into some kinda freaky mini-tornado of man flesh and bone. Classic.

  • Bouncing arrows were HILARIOUS! A D&D, I REALLY had to be in the mood but I did love that game!!!

  • "Hey hon--could you pencil me in for some time this week to hook it up to the TV?"

"Fine! But then *you* have to go hunting for little Bernie's latest issue of 'Comics'!"

  • I had this game, it was challenging.

  • "Holy cats!" and that smirk that kid does sooooo makes me want to ram my fist through his face.

  • me too

  • Isn't "bollocks" usually used in a derrogatory way?

  • Heh, I remember I went through a retro phase in college and actually was late to class because I was playing this game.

  • HOLY CATS!

  • I've never played this game before, but I think it sucks.

  • That's pretty funny...I was playing it even when this commercial was aired and even then, I thought I kinda sucked...it was too easy. Atari 2600's "Adventure" was so much more graphically primitive and yet was so much more playable...it was directly based on an arcade game called "Venture," if I remember right, which was grt. Good call.

  • Does anybody recognize the boy in this commercial. It looks alot like Timothy Hutton. E.T., Taps and most recently "The Good Shepard". I think so!

  • Henry Thomas was the actor who played Elliot in E.T. Does sort of look like Timothy Hutton though. He's a talented guy, but he was like 20 when they shot E.T. That would've been some awesome acting.

  • the boy does seem like Henry Thomas, I'd almost put money on it.

    "You killed the Dragon"

    "I'm sorry..."

    wow I remember this commercial!

-used to play the game quite a lot, too, lots of fun

  • lol this is the very first videogame i ever played loved the arrows bouncing around the walls

  • funny thing is..I remember this very commercial and thought the girl was annoying then. Of course I still convinced the parents to buy me the game. The sounds of this game ruled, especially when you could hear an animal coming up ahead but could't see it yet. You'd get all super nervous knowing a dragon was about to jump your ass. And the sound of the snake...classic stuff..

  • Oh good grief..the hours I wasted on this..lol. Grey mountains to stock up on arrows, coloured ones to gain pieces of crown.

I should hook up my old ITV and go play it now!

  • Holy Cats!

  • I love this commercial.

  • Way good game. Been playing it for years.

  • lol at 0:04, they cut it up

  • this one and b-17 bomber

  • One of the best games ever made!

  • The original RPG version is much more interactive.

  • I loved that game!

  • I could beat the whole game in ten minutes.

  • maybe on the low level where you needed only to get through 3 mountains to hit the main boss... Id bet the bank you wouldnt get two away from the gate on the hardest level.

  • Trust me I have had many a quest.

  • That game kicked ass!!!

  • Never played that game, always wondered if it was any good or not!

  • Yup I remember that. Those were the days.
