In diversity, Jake, Randy and Zakk Share intense ability - blues, classical, etc. Each had piano training as well. Better? Best? PERSONAL OPINION!!! My opinion - Rhoads had more touch and finesse/ Zakk has huge Balls, and Jake had the best flash.

His energy says he was a fan, and the solo he played even a tad better than Rhoads. Thats commitment. This is the gayest concert I have been to. It was Ozzy and Motleys Crew at Seattle Center Coliseum 1984.  The lesbian singer for Motleys Crew kept asking of 'Seattle is getting any pussy tonight'. Later fat Ozzy paced the stage and kept saying 'we love you all' and 'clap your hands'. It sucked someone's ass.

If I remember this right (I could have a couple of bands out of order) Jake was one of the original members of Ratt, Jake left to join Rough Cutt for the Dio connection. he recommended his roommate Demartini to replace him in Ratt . he did (according to him) record some early demo stuff with Dio before Dio decided on Cambell (Jake claims the beginning to don't talk to strangers was his creation). Jake got the Ozzy gig through a recommendation from Dana Strum of Slaughter. After he did badlands

God why does everybody always say underrated? Jake E Lee was never under rated. Ask any guitarist, he has mad respect. The fact that most people seem to think Randy is god has as much to do with the fact he died so young as much as his actual ability. He was good, but even compared to his contemporaries, there were much better. He would have gotten better, no doubt, I loved his music, but he wasn't at the time of his death the greatest. Personally, I find Jake E to be a superior guitarist.

ya, word is that greek guitarist Gus G. of the band Firewind is taking Zakk's place. I don't care much for Firewind, other than the track Mecenary Man, but Gus is a mean, tasteful shredder. He has an instrumental video called the fire and the fury, I believe. Check it out. Jake is an amazing guitarist, much more tasteful than Zakk, however in his hay day, I do personally believe that Zakk was TECHNICALLY the best player of Ozzy's career. That being said, Rhoads was overall the best, obviously.
