They go on television and just expect the host of whatever show to accept their talking points. If they are challenged *at all*, they fold like a cheap suit.
It used to be that Republican spokespersons were prepped for these kinds of things, were ready for challenges to attacks and so forth. But they've gotten so used to a ball-less media that when the media does find their balls, they have no idea how to respond.
