I think this band is one of the best assembled groups right now. Vignola's already a legend. I like anyone who ignores the boundaries of what people say an instrument should do. Mark could play Black Sabbath on his violin and it would be excellent.
I'de seen the version of sweet suzanne live on sound check. I had no idea they could play it quicker!!! Not that you judge musicians by there speed but... flup thats fast
@DaManFromPlaid Thanks for the update -- can't wait to hear/see YOUR videos -- you know, where you play some REALLY hot swing, so that we can hear how it goes.
I couldn't believe how unkind and judgemental your comments were, so I checked out your channel -- only to find out that you're one of those "Christians" who keep the "Mental" in "fundamental"
Rage on, brother -- make a scourge of cords and drive this impostor (whose playing Grapelli LOVED by the way) out of the temple of swing !
@DaManFromPlaid Two Bible verses come to mind -- "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit." and "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou be like him." So here I am, unable to decide whether or not I should answer you. I don't want ot be drawn into a duel of wits -- especially with an unarmed individual. As a rule, if I can't say something positive, I don't say anything. I just thought that your castigation of Mark was over the top and wrong.
@DaManFromPlaid Your comments show a lack of respect that no good Christian should have. It's quite enough to say, "I don't like Mark's playing... he just doesn't have that drive." Any more than that goes against what (I hope) your mother taught you: if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all!
For my money, I love Mark's playing! I'm a fiddle player, and Mark's music has transformed my life. I started classical, and so he was a "gateway to hot swing" for me.

Wow, hearing Julian Lage and Frank Vignola side is great. Vignola has got him beat when it comes to this music!
