I think the speech, considering they were rivals when ARR came out with Roja, was very gracious. If people want to read between the lines and infer things he didn't say, that can't be helped. It is really sad the greatest of Tamil music scored by Ilayaraja could not have technological backup like DTS & sound recordings & support from media as available in the current generation (Satelite channels- Mobile - Internet ). If it was then things would have been entirely different. He has become old now and he cannot offer the music that is demanded by the current generation. Neither we can compare him with the present music directors as he is not in the same plane.Only people of his son's age (YSR) can match the taste of the current generation.
