All British land weapons get a land designation or "L" designation. So the first SA80 assault rifle was the L85 - the Hecler and Koch upgrade "SA80a2" is known as the L85a2.

There's a reason for the American's Afghan HQ being much better equipped than the British one, and that's due to the fact that American soldiers do much longer tours of duty. That and they apparently need to be pampered like girls.

@Azog150 Thats pretty funny, because I wasnt saying the brits were being papmered, and some clown says that American troops are pampered, when they do 15 month deployments with 2 weeks leave while the brits do 6 month deployments with 2 weeks leave and US Marine do 7 month deployments with no leave inbetween. And be advised I work with a bunch of brits and theyre well respected in my books, and they love US Marines also.... so keep your mouth shut clown.

@MarineInfantry00 Whats even funnier is both U.S's Top Military Generals Petrauses and ( the other one cant remember his name rite now) both highly praised British forces and said they are the best in the world,all their troops ecspecialy the S.A.S and S.B.S who BOTH U.S Generals chose to work with,saying they were incredible,not waiting for anyone and striking at night going out 3-4 times a night to kill Taliban Commanders,killing them on an industrial scale, while Delta sat waiting for orders

@MarineInfantry00 Like in 2006 British S.A.S found Sadams son,had him ready for capture with a 12 man S.A.S team had Afghan intelligence on the house,were ready to take him alive forl important questioning and intel, U.S said it wasnt possible the British couldnt do it and chose to blow the place to bits instead with a mass of helicopters,then sent in 100 American Marines to clean up what was left, killing Sadams son losing valuable intelligence, then screamed WOO YEAH A U.S VICTORY!

Its case of like in 2001,when the British S.B.S spotted (could of been) Bin Laden but wasnt 100% confirmation but they knew it was someone seriously important as they had body gaurds e.t.c. S.B.S said they were ready to go in and take him alive with MI6,U.S said "no wait for us we want him" by the time the U.S got there he was long gone!
