  • I am truly grateful to you for showing me how to do the Granny Square. I bought books , anything to learn. I can do the basic so I was sooooo blessed that a friend of mine found your video's and she had never crocheted in her life and did your Granny Square and shared with me. Thank you so much : )

  • yay me too, made my first granny square. so now what lol .......No really what now just keep making these squares. What if we wanted to make them all different colors. Do u have a video for that and also on checking your gauge.

    much love

  • @breatheoffreshair Search my channel for changing colors.

  • Yay! I made my first granny square!

  • Just want you to know I have watched 10 videos on how to crochet a granny square, to no luck... I watched yours and I got it. Not completely perfect- but definitley a good job thanks to you ! !!

  • Thank you so much for these clear and precise instructions. I am just learning to crochet and this was my first granny square and it turned out really quite well for my first attempt! This has excited me and motivated me to continue now, seeing that I have the potential of actually making more than rows and rows of practice squares of basic stitches! Thank you so much. I have subscribed to your videos becuase of your style of teaching. Thank you again andgod Bless you!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for your series on granny squares. I have watched dozens of videos here on YouTube trying to get going with crocheting, but just couldn't get it. I know some people may think you went "slow" in the earlier segments, but I found it PERFECT for people who are learning--plenty of time to pause, watch and try on your own.

    Thanks again!

  • Hah! I did it. :3 Thanks for the videos.

  • so far so good, do you happen to have a tutorial on how to change color or what if we run out of yarn? i know there r some out there but i really liked your tutorials, many out there r now as good

  • @mrsyayapr26 Yes I do. Use the search bar on my channel page. If you still cannot find it send me another note and I'll send a link in a PM.

  • Both my grand mother's crochet. I've always wanted to learn but I was always on the go. I now have found time to learn years after my grand mothers are past. Thanks so much for making the videos. I can't wait to start. God bless. 

  • This series of videos was great thanks. It really helped me master the basics.

  • Thanks so much for posting the whole series of granny square videos. I had started an afghan from a kit an their method of working in ends and color changing was not working well. I am doing as you stated and so far things are looking great!

  • This looks fun to make, I am going to try my hand at it, Thanx for the great videos! =0)

  • Your stitches are so neat, it's easy to tell where to put your needle!

My first granny square was more like a circle - I was just a kid and didn't get my tensioning right. Thank you for the very clear instructions!

  • I so appreciate you demonstrating things like this, changing colors, finishing the tails. This has been such helpful info and easy to follow, thank you very much!

  • Thank you for the videos. I have been crocheting for 50 years and was never happy with how I did the ends. Your method is very neat and quick. It's amazing how much I learn from seeing it done. That's why crocheters need to get together more often. Thankfully now there is the internet.

  • I love these videos. Thank you. I made a single blanket. Just as a great big granny square. When I was 12. And didn't do another one. I have started again now 30years later. And what to know how to do everything. From Easter chicks to roses. I think these videos you have made are a god send. Thank you.

  • when I pull on my tail, it doesn't do anything! HELP!!!! what didi i do wrong????

  • @wutevrasif You might not have crocheted over it as you made your first round. Just use your needle and draw it up under the stitches around the center, then pull it up to draw the center closed.

  • how do you join the granny squares?

  • You can whip stitch them together, or you can crochet them together. The only joining video I have right now is the continuous join, but it's not for beginners.

  • This is so great!!! i've just finished my first granny square and I'm so excited!!!! Thank you!!!

  • Your videos are so awesome! I learned to crochet when I was probably 4 or 5 from my great grandmother and I forgot how just as quickly as I learned! I was able to make a square (after may re-do's to get it right, haha) from your videos frustration free! It was fun. Now what do I do with it? I want to make a throw so do I just keep going on this same square or do I make multiple squares and connect them? And do you having any videos showing how to connect squares? Thanks again!!

  • I have been trying to l relearn how to Crochet for many years in my community it is a lost art. Thank you. Now for my question, can a granny square be used as a large thow until I learn a new stitch.

  • Absolutely. I made one for a king sized bed. It is one giant granny square. It took lots of yarn. I used a K hook and worsted weight yarn.

  • Hi, I have a question. How many Granny Squares can you make out of the yarn you had on the first video? I have the same yarn and was going to join the squares to make a blanket. If you are not for sure can you give me a estiment.

    Thanks!

  • You can make enough for a scarf with one skein. You need two for a baby blanket, three for a lap robe and four for an afghan. This also depends on your tension and the size of your hook. But these are my estimates. used 6 skeins for a twin size granny afghan for my son.

  • Thank you so much for posting this... I have looked for a nearly invisible granny square finish for the end tail in so many books but all they say is 'weave in your ends.' I'm working a blanket for my hubby and this technique will definately make a difference.

  • i lv it.. thank u so much..

  • Thank you so much foe explaining in such a good way. I have been looking everywhere for instructions, ever since my grandmother passed away, before she could teach me how to finish a bead-spread that she helped me learn how to crochet. Thank you. I will be able to complete it now, and granny will know.:O)

  • thanks for the great tips

  • Very Nice Vid Dahling!
