An appropriately titled song. Sheldon does have a certain vunerability that brings out our protective instincts. For all his intellect emotionally he's like a child.
What's adorable is that "Big Bang" fans are such hopeless romantics (me included of course). There is great underlying bonding that seems to be going on between Penny and Sheldon, and it took me awhile to figure it out, but the reason is the two characters implicity trusted each other in a deep sense from the first moment. Of course we all know that is plenty rare between a male and female in the world today, and it makes them instantly close and endearing even without them knowing why. Pretty
