  • Sweden is stupid if Sweden asked the U.S to "borrow" a b-2 stealth bomber to learn how to detect it and defend against it America would laugh but Sweden gives them this sub real smart ...

  • @cksteele The US hasn't borrowed anything, they leased a submarine and the crew. This is nothing strange at all, it was basically just a very long military exercise and training with other nations is very useful. And it's not like our Gotland class submarines are brand new and top secret or anything, we'll have a newer class of submarines operational in a few years from now.

  • We are Allies with USA but we are not in NATO and Sweden is an Neutral nation. And we are only 10 million in population..-.- so then WHY give USA our security away like this..??

  • Btw why does USA want to know how to destroy our submarine? hm? let me think perhaps to get back the advantage on water?

  • Why the fuck should we tell USA how to beat our technology?

  • varför vill dom lära sig ätt spränga vår ubåt för? nåt i kikarn? hehe

  • and how to kill them...wtf

  • US whant to know how to detekt and how to sink it!! Stupid americans.

  • proud to be swedish! , Sverige!

  • nice submarine :)

  • @012332154

  • The USS Kitty Hawk battle group did some war games with the Aussies and got its ass handed to it. Australia's old Collins-class boats were able to approach, attack, "sink" the carrier with dummy torpedoes AND get away. It proves that a smart submarine skipper can make up for lack of the latest technology and still get one over on the Yanks.

Very recently, a Chinese submarine deliberately surfaced at close range inside a U.S. carrier battle group just to let them know not to fuck with China.

  • This is and old submarine now, Sweden have new one coming up in 2018, so beware..

  • @ceasar112233 Source? And it's not old Gotland was built 1995. Our other uboats Södermanland is built 1987-1990 and is still in use today

  • @Bullen934 i think the newer sub is called A26. not certain but its going to be better and one of the most advanced in the world.

  • @JORDHOLMEN Yeah I saw a video when they talked about te new submarine. It will be awesome!

  • When Sweden is mentioned in a american tv-studio, it just makes me proud.

    (weird?!)

  • Sweden is the only country that could sneak up any other nation's coast - and totally annihilate it.

We don't need the NATO (Sweden is not a member) to be the most successful nation on Earth, just like Volvo, H&M and IKEA don't need Tony Soprano to make it big time in New Jersey.

  • Ofc thay wanna know how to destroy them, tho if we wanted, there whouldnt be a power block with a navy in the world we whould make quick work of them in 6 months xD safest way to accualy protect there ship is to dry dock them 24/7-

  • So sweden gone just bend over and give this system to US Navy ???

    thats od

  • @federyko00 The Neitherlands as well, they have also build classes of AIP subs, and Spain the same.

  • @Bullen934 Gotland is built by the same german owned company that also builds the U 212 class.

  • I must say this: the Swedish naval jack looks great on a ship, especially a submarine. Oh yes, and I am Swedish. :)

  • där fick ni U.S.A in you'r face

  • @federyko00

True but the HMS Gotland class was the first. ;)

  • @Bullen934 where did you read, that we´ve told them "how" ?

  • was that the us president (yeah i know hes black irl) in the end and he was like... "FU*K!" ? x)

  • Ha ha Sweden rules!!!

  • great country!

  • @ombud74 hahaha any former soviet state kick sweden's ass.

  • They will never kill us, RUN!

  • Haha, gf USA.

  • I think its very clear Submersible vessels > Surface vessels

  • u realize sweden did fight in WW2?

  • @zfxcvgbhnjmk where?

  • I thought the Germans had a new super quiet submarine.

  • sell it to Iran and watch the U.S navy take a shit

  • And it all started when the Gotland snuck up against a U.S. aircraft carrier, took a picture and took off again. When the Navy saw the picture they said "WFT" !

  • I wonder why the US navy did not borrow a German sub... mouuuhahahhaha... Gotland is excellent!

  • @gamer5274 This submarine was studied by the US navy for a year in a loan program, it;s detectable now. The worlds quietest sub is the Astute class now anyway.

  • How do you know these are detectable now?

  • @iluvdx60 they do indeed. And the techonology in Gotland and the german sub are very similar neither is detectable by current standards btw.

  • @zfxcvgbhnjmk Pretty much yes becuse of the end of the war we did get our hands on a XXI class sub by the german navy ^^ whit that we did create some nice prototypes :D

  • @zfxcvgbhnjmk Pretty much yes because of the end of the war we did get our hands on a XXI class sub by the German navy ^^ whit that we did create some nice prototypes :D

  • I dont worry about Russia. Its America thats verry triggerhappy. They smile one day and say "freedom". The next day theyre bombing your family looking for oil.

  • Ha HAA yanks beware! the swedish are coming to GET YOU !

  • @gamer5274 The point Is that other nations can build these types of subs, aggresive nations. Its better to share this technology whit our "allies" so two USS air craft carriers dont end up at the bottom of the ocean.

  • Att avskaffa värnplikten var en dålig idé.

  • we are few but good!

  • hahah are they scared of a SUBMARINE? dude americans ARE paranoied XD sry by the english ey, im a swed u know ;)

  • @Frajdsson yeah a sub that is practicly invisible and can shot missiles at u while u can't see it or do shit about it... yep i would have been scared as fuck....

  • @thatdude034 what, do you really think that this submarine just gonna attack the US just like that? hmm no!

  • @gamer5274 haha

  • Don't mess with the Swedes!

  • im from gotland :)

  • Swedish warfare FTW we have the best subs, tanks and fighter-aircrafts in the world.

  • @yezz933 yes....but way to few to be of any importance :(

  • Sweden is the most technologichally advanced nation on Earth. Today, Stockholm beats Silicon Valley (and this is in many ways due to the prescence of American companies).

The Swedish population size is small, but I still claim Sweden, without difficulty, could produce over 500 extremely advanced tanks on a DAILY basis. A nation like Russia could not.

  • @scholion Yep, and who would drive those tanks? Even our military service is becoming optional now, I don't think we have the crew to operate even 400 tanks.

  • Goo Sweden!! (lol i'm from Sweden)

  • @LOSVOLA2 Did it have a Swedish crew?

  • The world should be happy that we swedes are such nice people :)

  • kick ass boat haha ;D

  • Jas 39 Gripen is the biggest world wide nation selling aircraft during the 21th century.

Visby Corvette Class boats are undetectable on radar until 9 miles away.

    Sweden is underestimated.

  • @anttonoo

?? Jas Gripen is a nice jet but only South Africa has bought 26 of them, Hungary has lease-and-buy 14 of them.

F-16 easily outsells any other plane sorry.

  • @OlderG0ds He said during the 21:Th century, and we have sold more of those than you list.

  • @Red0100

It's wrong no matter what. Jas Gripen is not some best selling jet, sorry. Hardly anyone has bought them.

  • @OlderG0ds Can you read? Yet again, he said of the 21:Th century.

  • @Red0100

I know he said 21st century. It's still fucking wrong.

  • @OlderG0ds that JAS is nice is pure bullshit. Their start was horrible. the project was a disaster. They crashed several times, and never seemed to get it working. Their main concern was getting a CHEAP aircraft. so NO, it's not nice.

  • @henraisse You describe the development and testing phase, do you say it's a flying disaster right now too?

  • @henraisse Only 6 have crashed and that is not a high number, and they have not resulted in any casualties or serious damages. And it is in fact quite natural that such accidents happen, Eurofighters have crashed, Rafales have crashed, MiG's and Sukhoi's have crashed, American F-16's and F-18's crash, even their new advanced and really expensive F-22 Raptor has crashed several times. The fact is that the JAS 39 Gripen is a very good and a very safe aircraft.

  • @henraisse To develope a unique aircraft sutch as the Gripen takes losses. You could easily continue with old techniques and traditional productions, but then it would have been an old aircraft even though it just left the line. To breake new barriers and spearpoint techniques has never been easy, nor free of incidents, it´s a price that has to be payed in order to stay at the top.

  • @henraisse Well then youre a total idiot. The J39 Gripen crashed twice during development. And if you do your homework youd find that its much less than most fighterplanes, even the J37 Viggen.

The only reason the J39 caught so much attention was because it crashed during an airshow.

  • @Lillie1986 JESUS CAN YOU PEOPLE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE I DONT CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU'VE BEEN DOING YOUR COLLEGE RESEARCH ABOUT THIS DARN MACHINES, JUST STOP FREAKING HARRASS ME, IS THAT SO FUCKING HARD TO GRASP???????

  • @henraisse Well you should stop posting shit on youtube then. Do your research first.

  • @Lillie1986 THANK YOU, IVE REALIZED THAT A YEAR AGO WHEN I WROTE IT. USE A TIME MACHINE OR BE UP TO DATE WITH YOUR REPLIES IDIOT

  • @henraisse 5 months ago actualy. Your reply 5 months ago was to a post that was posted a 1 year ago. That makes it a 7 month time difference, where as mine was only a 5 month time difference. So right back at you.

  • It´s a fine balance between US and Sweden in military strategy. US got good stuff in quantity, and Sweden got exellent stuff but in very limited quantity.

The Swedish Gotland-class shows, that biggest, most armed and biggest group, wouldn´t always be the most powerful.

  • Gotland is also a diesel electric sub suited for coastal defense, the advantage is they are much quieter but lack things that our nuclear subs do, such as ability to stay out to sea and underwater indefinitely, and operate in deep ocean which is what they're meant to do.

But yes of course Gotland can find a carrier it shouldn't be very hard

  • I Thought it runs on compressed gasses, like oxygen and maybe N..... I know for fact it has compressed oxygen in tanks....

  • @kulmedfarbrorful It has an air independent propulsion (AIP) , I believe as an auxiliary source of power. Which allows it to stay underwater longer so yeah but it's still primary power is diesel-electric engines

  • @OlderG0ds

I can just say that two months is max, maybe three or SIX months if you want soldieers thats fatigued.... Sweden win. Stop sell guns! :(

  • a nice submarine but some really weird commentary here...

  • Somehow, any and I mean any video relating to military whatsoever will inevitably end with idiots arguing over WW2 and who was most powerful and yada yada yada.

  • these guys have nothing to do...:)

  • The vikings had the best ships.. today we still got the best ships.. im proud :)

  • During the coldwar Sweden had lots of spare parts and repair equipment for american planes such as F-14 tomcat etc. hidden on our military airfields. So US fighters could land, get fuel, repairs etc and then take of for operations in Russia. So yes Sweden has always been true allies to the west.

  • Comment removed

  • lol not allies with the west? because of "the pirate bay site" that even our own media corporations are battling against in court. You must be one of those conspiracy loonies here on youtube. Wake up ! :D

  • Well i you yanks promise to open a KFC in stockholm then will tell ya !

  • you couldn't even beat the IRA ass hole

  • truefagbrit2008 your a douchebag and you don't know shit

the Gotland is second to none with the U212

  • Haha ok. I didn't know they made vhs's anymore of something so recent, put it up so you can ram them 'dowm' my throat. As for the other comments...um...off topic a little? I want to know about your original comment.

  • I'm calling bullshit. The US never uses even close to 12 subs in wargames. Where is your source?

  • "the threat is real" american fear mongering, there like Stalin everything is out to destroy you

  • hehe... :) touché, my friend.

  • woohoo, sweden will rule the world!!!

  • Heil Sweden, long live scandinavia.

    Best regards, Limukone.

    Keep your flag high!

  • Sweden own ;)

  • impressive!

hope the Royal Norwegian Navy will buy some of those.

Our submarines aren't bad either. during exercise Joint Winter, KNM Utvær sunk so many ships that it was banned for 72hours.

The exercise halted because no landing craft could get to shore.

BTW, why are they leasing away their sub, helping the development of a countermeasure? ?

Guess they have forgotten what war is all about? (they haven't been to war for 200yrs)

  • Iam werry sure if Norway wants to buy some subs of this class from us, we would be happy to sell or build new ones to export them to norway

but I dont think we would sell them to USA, i just cant see it happed

  • yeah.. good to see that your big egos over there can be blown to pieces.. now: FIX YOUR FUCKING ECONOMY SO THE REST OF THE WORLD CAN EAT... just lost my job here.. and i know that i dont know all the facts in the crisis, but youre budget is stretched to the limits because "you guys THINK theres nuclear missiles in Iraq" and that shit.. stop being so damn naive and stop being a fucking world police and let the rest of the world be alone.. capitalist-assholes

  • Iraq is an expensive success story, freedom prevailed and instead of a antii-western tyrant we now have one of the richests democratic allies in the mid-east. Not a bad deal.

Withouth capitalism the world would be a dark pit.

  • haha this was so awesome! USA being owned by little Sweden ? haha just awesome!

  • this is like 3-4 years old news :P

we have been over ther working with USA for some yeras now and shiping new soldiers to practise with them every year..

  • Comment removed

  • that is trrue !

  • we own the americka you see swedish for life brother sverige fosterland )

  • sweden rules!

  • The best submarine in the world today.

  • Swedish military dont spend the budget on the number of soliders, instead swedish military spend it on technology, now Sweden have the worlds most best military to the number of soliders.

Swedish submarines, jetfighters, tanks. Is all in top 10 best.

  • Correct, very good, you win a cookie!

  • Wait, what Swedish tank? They use the German Leopard II now. The CV90 is an IFV not a tank.

  • The CV90 is a Swedish/Norwegian tank.

  • Again, the CV90 isn't a tank, its an Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

  • Its a fighting vehicle that can kill an tank, I call that a tank.

  • Is a guy with an anti tank missile a tank? No, and neither is a vehicle, tracked or otherwise. And no, the 40mm L/70 wont kill a tank, it'll barely dent it.

  • "Its a fighting vehicle that can kill an tank, I call that a tank."

Kill a tank? Since when does a tank has life? Did I miss that biology class?

  • If u have been in the army you know wht i mean. That's how you say it:Kill, exterminate or w/e you prefer.

Tbh....why do you even post stupid comments like this? If u have a brain you understand and if u are retared you post comments liek this.

    GL with your life.

  • and the Leopard II is german yes, but its been updated by the Swedes.

  • To A4 standard.

  • Sweden took the Leo2A5 and made it better.

The Leo2 in Sweden is called Strv122 or Leo2A5S.

The A5S became the base for all following Leo2 models.

  • I think all that sex you had with goats and camels in Pakistan has warped what was left of your brain...tell us again how the RN sunk the Japanese fleet in the Indian Ocean in 1942..tellus again

  • Please tell me you're joking. Did ms. coward really ay that? LOL It wouldn't surprise me.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we see her claim that GB invented water, air, land, etc. Ms. coward is such a bitch.

  • No, he really said that, and how the UK "saved the US West coast" from japan..you know his usual crap..he was some other vid..if i find it I'll send it to you

  • I kind of figured. I wonder how he feels on being known as one of the biggest liars on YT. I'll take a look at the vid. Thanks.

  • The last non-nuclear carrier just retired you fucking idiot. And yes, they visit ports around the world, but in time of war they sure as hell don't have to. U R so retarded it's unbelievable.

And, how the Gotland took out the carrier hasn't been released. Show me proof. Your theory that it was under the carrier is idiotic.

Problem with a sub launching cruise missiles is that it gives away its position. And carriers have many defensive weapons to defeat them. Get a brain retard.

  • Actually, Britain still has three of the Invincible class carriers in commission and they are working on the Queen Elizabeth class. Both are diesel powered.

Also, I agree with you on the Kilo, but all of it doesn't apply to the Gotland or the German type 212. AIP technology eliminates quite a few of the factors.

Also, so far, all their countermeasures are based on active sweeps.

  • Thanks for the info. From what I've read is that the Gotland and 212 are much more difficult to track than the Kilo.

  • They are. The AIP system is virtually vibration free. And just to point fingers at the rest of the world, they're already working on a successor to the Gotland, the A26

  • I just read that S. Korea is buying 6 more 212's. W/ their Aegis ships and these subs they are develping a damn good navy.

Thanks again for your info and not being so arrogant about it like so many other posters here. It's nice to see some civilized people have a discussion rather than the in-your-face junk. Take care.

  • Correction, 6 more Class 214's for South Korea. Go here to see more

    defencetalk. com/news/publish/navy/Six_More_Submarines_of_Class_214_for_Korea120016871. php

  • Yup, South Korea has to make due with the economy model.

  • I couldn't agree more

  • Sorry, but carriers don't need to go to shore. If they wanted to they could stay at sea for years. They don't need refueled and supplies are brought to them at sea on a regular basis.

The US did figure a way to defeat the Goland, thanks to the Swedes for letting us lease their ship. Only problem is the environmentalists that don't want the USN to use the sonor due to fear of harming wildlife. Supreme Court backed the Navy first time around.

There's an entire ring of defences. It's not easy.
