  • Ok review. Very monotonous. Sounds like you are reading (which you probably are). most information is from wikipedia and other famous reviewers.

  • I'll get the flashback 3 because i hate pitfall and river raid.

  • Thanks 4 the review. Just ordered it

  • Great review. Very detailed. Looks very faithful to the original (I had no clue the Genesis controllers would work on it). Definitely looking into one now. :)

  • what do you think of the flashback 3, better or no?

  • @TheCrazyplaying Get the Flashback 2. It has the best hardware and strongest game selection. If you can manage to track down an original Flashback 2 (as opposed to 2+), you get Pitfall and River Raid.

  • Great review. Got the version 3 today.

  • Chinks doesn`t wash themselves ever

They think soap is an American bacteriological weapon

  • 1:40 LOL Classic Game Room.

  • @SNESFanboy64 Hey Chink monkey, what are you doing in a tard video??

Go get your ass fucked by a Japanese soldier`s cock LMAO

  • @windchaseRTeatshit When did the Nanking Rape occur? 1937. What year is it now? 2011. I guess you are far behind in reality.

  • @SNESFanboy64 That`s a twisted question

    It never happened

  • @SNESFanboy64 Nanjing Rape is 100% fake, but there is a Nanjing orgy

Chinese women were prostituting themselves for Japanese soldiers cocks

    This is prostitution, not rape

    Use the proper words

  • @windchaseRTeatshit I have a book called "The Rape of Nanking". 100% fake? My Ass :) but even though the Japanese were raping, guess what happened after? US dropped 2 Atomic Bombs at Japan, Japan surrendered and then the captains were jailed. Want the Japanese to kill more Chinese? Then your stupid race of America should have never existed.

  • @SNESFanboy64 We call this a propaganda book LMAO

  • @SNESFanboy64 US dropped 2 Atomic Bombs at Japan

Only because of Pearl Harbor, nothing to do with the worthless Chinks

What`s funny if Japan would have sticked to kililng the Chinsk in Unit 731, America would have done nothing to stop it

    And I wouldn`t

  • ♦♦♦ ATTENTION ♦♦♦

    @windchaseRTeatshit = Taiwanese SHIT-EATER

A 47-year-old, jobless, Taiwanese freak suffers from a massive Psychiatric Disorder in Montreal, Canada. The sicko channels his desire for communication in a perverted way and becomes an Internet psycho / faggot / pedophile on YouTube 24 x 7 for 4 years

He eats shit for a living and bullshits in incoherent TAIWANESE ENGLISH to seek attention by childish provocation and laugh at his own retarded Taiwanese wit. LOL

  • @SNESFanboy64 Want the Japanese to kill more Chinese?

    That sounds a good plan

But I want to kill some too :)

  • @windchaseRTeatshit Japanese aren't barbarians anymore who want to take over Asia.

  • @SNESFanboy64 FYI : You're right about the 47-year-old Taiwanese SHIT-EATER @windchaseRTeatshit. He's been an Internet psycho / faggot / pedophile on YouTube for 4 years. He's jobless, of course, dwelling in the Taiwanese ghetto of Montreal, Canada. Without work, he has to eat shit for a living. His brain is full of shits. He recycles his shits daily, sometimes as soon as they come out of his gapping asshole. What a middle-aged Taiwanese jobless imbecile! LOL

  • @windchaseRTeatshit <--- I know you're a loner, loser, psycho, jobless Taiwanese Sicko of YouTube who dreams about having anal sex with Jap homos, but do the world a favour and stop dreaming. At 47, you're still a fucking virgin and have never had sex in your life. What an imbecile when you talk about sex. I know you Taiwanese asshole masturbates daily. When it isn’t enough, you go to YouTube to fish for unsuspecting young girls. You need to kill yourself for good! LOL

  • Actually The Magnavox Odyssey was the birth place the home video game console!!!!

  • 3 has 60 games

  • 2011, i walk in my local krogers and fing an atari flashback 3

  • This was good video thanks

  • I had an original new out of the box condition 2600 with new condition games and i gave it away and that person cut it up because they didn't have a power adapter! I can't believe i did that and i can't believe that person destroyed a museum quality machine!!

  • I have a good condition 2600 they're not hard to find and also i have 70 carts which are also not hard to find, the only reason id wanna get this is for the home brew games

  • "You'll probably never own 40 cartridges"

I bought an atari 2600 original yesterday, so far through ebay and stores I have about 30. Its not that hard when you can buy them for a buck a piece.

  • Yeah, but does it come with Custer's Revenge?

  • I actually bought an atari 2600 with 39 games (+ some 6 others 2600 games i bought for the 7800 before) the paddle controllers the original joysticks and the keyboard controllers for $200 in box with tape! And my friend and I actually had a 2 player atari 2600 marathon and my friend won! And I didn't even get a game system till 2003!

  • i got so lucky i got a atri 2600 from garage sale for a dollar i had to buy everything else to hook it up but it works perfectly and it is in good condition

  • im wondering is there a cable to plug the flashback into the tv?

  • thumbs up if u think the commercial can make some ppl not wanna by it! lol

  • my friend gave me an Atari Flashback 2 with 2 controlers, i love it, even if one of the controlers malfunctions

  • I have a perfectly working 2600 and 40 games...lol

  • I like how your "Atari Guts" picture looks so serious and typical "emo age" teenager, but in the actual review you're all happy and right into it. lol

But this is a good review/overview. Awesome! I like, and I'll have to hunt one of these down! The small size makes me want to mod it and use it as my main 2600 system.

  • Now they just need to start making paddle controllers again.

  • i rather have the real one but its probably really expensive

  • atari 2600 is freakin awsome

  • can you give me the code becaus i have my paddle controllers and i want to play pong and the other games

  • Just bought one of these on Whoot Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hope atari releases a system that uses actually 2600 cartridges. Its not like there impossible to find.

  • Nice job with this video. I'm gonna get one of these.

  • :D I HAVE AN ARCADE NEXT TO MY HOUSE!!!! AND IM GETTING AN ATARI 2600 FOR MY B-DAY!!!!!!

  • lucky!!!!!!!

  • what are the two hidden games?

  • @Actiomedey Warlords and Super Breakout.

  • 1999mortalkombat Solid gold NES! how much did that cost!?

  • FAG!

  • Does it do full hd or only hd Pls reply

  • IM kidding but you really stoled cgr review on game pad controller for atari 7800 am i right? reply yes or no? check it out 1:37

  • YOU STOLED CLASSIC GAME ROOM GAME PAD CONTROLLER REVIEW FOR ATARI 7800 LOOK AT 1:37 ITS THE SAME THING BY THE WAY YOUR RETARDED TAKE CARE OF YOUR SEGA GENESIS CONTROLLER!!! AND GUESS WHAT I HAVE 10 GAME CONSOLES ATARI 2600 ATARI 5200 ATARI 2800 AND ATARI 7800 AND NES SNES FAMICOM SUPER FAMICOM AND PS2 SLIM JAPAN WHITE AND JAPANESE 159K SOLID GOLD NES! AND ITS WORTH 150.000 USA DOLLERS BEAT THAT

  • @1999mortalkombat: nobody cares

  • @1999mortalkombat its just a short clip of the cgr guy holding a 7800 controller, no big deal.

  • @1999mortalkombat OMG YOU ARE SOOOO COOL WRITING IN ALL CAPS. THAT WAY, PEOPLE TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY! YOUR GRAMMAR IS AWESOME! you're such a fag.

  • awsome review

  • Great review, I actually learned a lot from it. I'm real glad I didn't give up my Flashback 2 - I had no idea it has real Atari guts inside it!

  • I'm getting one of these for Christmas! It's on the top of my list! :)

  • @gullwing14 i with u brother

  • You look like Jake from Two And A Half Men

  • This is quite possibly one of the best video reviews I've ever seen for a video game console (and I've seen many).

Purposefully retro and cheesy, very detailed, and highly informative.

  • Ha ha! That accidental controller tug was a classic retro commercial look.

  • What the--? Is it just me, or does it cut off at 3:02 for everyone?

  • @romevi no problem here

  • @MichaelVarcade Weird.

  • there is a reason for the really short controller cable, cause the systems reset is not on the menu built into the start button, but on the system itself. The video cable/power cable on the original is so freaking long, i normally just set the system down next to me when i play my 2600, but anyways, good review.

  • this review even has retro acting, it's perfect! :D

  • Nice review, just a little off in the history there. Atari didn't make these, we (Legacy Engineering) did. Likewise the release of the FB2 had nothing to do with listening to fans, that was our planned console the entire time. When we first came to them and they signed on, they insisted on a product for that Christmass (only a few months away), which if we didn't deliver then there'd be no 2600 on a chip version. Hence the NOAC driven Flashback 1.

  • In addition, the 2600 was not the longest running console (1977-1992). The Famicom (1983-2003) gets that honor.

  • hello, may i know what are the difficulty left/right button doing for?thank you.

  • @qtyqty4 On the original atari 2600 the games did not have a menu to chose your dificulty. Insted they had switches on the machine. That is what the buttons do

  • Good review, you had me until the very end... never have 40 cartridge games? I have over 200! Otherwise, again, well done.

  • @briguy1971 That would make you a collector. And if you recall I said only if you are not a collector. People who don’t collect normally wont have 40+ games

  • Atari 2600 is so fucking expensive here in Sweden, around 100 dollars for a console without games >_<

  • 1:43 Did I just see what I think I saw? Classic Game Room?

  • @MrStopmotion88 yup.you saw CGR.also go mark from CGR.

  • The Flashback 2 should come with a cartridge slot as standard. Then I would give it 5 out of 5.

  • I first heard about this system last year. Looks like a neat system. I am going to get the Atari collection on the PS2. There are many great arcade collections on the PS2. Great review. Looks like you took your time on this video. Did your research well.

  • i got one a few months ago with 57 games a it it works like new very rare to find that

  • i bought an original atari 2600 at a garage sale with 2 controlers, 2 paddles, and 4 games for 3 dollars.

  • You can by it in England.

  • its a shame, i dont think you can buy it in england :(

  • i had this when i was little then my brother threw it away and i still regret not stopping him

  • i have a flashback 2 :D

  • no the magnavox odyssey was the birth place

  • @seganerd89 Nope that was a series of board games that used the TV. you did not buy new games for the system an it used screen overlay.

  • @corndog125nalald Ok I'll give you that the games aren't necessarily cartridges they were jumpers. But The Magnavox Odyssey was The first video game system Magnavox actually sued atari because they made pong ( video game ) wich was included with the Odyssey ( Video game console ) And the Magnavox Odyssey was not the only video game console to have overlays, the vectrex also had overlays and the Vectrex was not a series of board games so Fuck You and have a good night!!

  • @corndog125nalald Not necesarilly it released different game carts for it and it had the first idea of Ping.

  • @corndog125nalald It had controllers a variety of Games I think you mean to say that they are not cartridges but jumpers, but just because it dose not use cartridges does not make anyless of a game system then the atari.

  • @corndog125nalald You're mistaken on that as well. The odyssey came with 12 games, and additional games could be purchased at retailers, 28 game total. Including the games purchased separately for the light gun attachment.

  • @corndog125nalald probably what he meant was that the Odyssey was the birthplace of videogame consoles by definition: an interactive entertainment computer or modified computer system that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game.

  • @corndog125nalald you could buy games 8,9, and their gun game 10

  • @corndog125nalald Well it used video and you played games with it.

  • sorry but i agree with seganerd89. magnovox is the grand daddy of video games. it used screen overlays for the small technology it had. it had the board games cause it did not save memory and again, it had small tecnology.

  • @corndog125nalald Actually they sold a 9 and 10 Cartridge with new labels. Plus a Zapper Controller.

  • @seganerd89 acctually the oddesy 2

  • @seganerd89 pssst.... you're right

  • considering the games are bearly a few k each, 40 games seems a little limited...

  • nice to see someone with a 4 switch like me who does not have a heavy 6 switch 2600 (i am going to see if i can trade it in for a 6 switch)

  • For those wondering where to buy this, you can order it on the shop section of atari. com for 40 bucks

  • where can you find the atari falshback 2? i looked at game stores and radio shack in massachusettes and i cannot find one

  • @simplyxwilliam You can buy a brand new one on Atari's official website.

  • ur review of this is nice

  • i actually found a flashback 2 at a thrift shop for 3 bucks!

  • The only thing I didn't like about the Flashback 2 was that they forgot just 1 game, Kaboom! The Flashback 2 couldn't be the same without it.

  • @smokedscorpionV1 and pitfall 2 and space invaders

  • You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!!!!!

    12-100?!!!!

I GOT THIS FOR A BUCK AT A YARD SALE!!!!!!

  • @thedarkholeconsumer dude look when this video was posted, im sure the price has droped. not to mention yard sales are not a good place to determan the value of an item. i meen i have seen coutches sell for $20!

  • @TheGoldfishbaked ya, i got 2 nice partial wood couches for $25 at an auction. :D

  • Nice review. I like your style. I only have one problem, there are millions of working atari's out there and over 1056 games made for the system. I don't think finding 40 cartridges would be a concern, just a bit of a hassle.

Sorry if I came off as jerk-ish, I was just offering some criticism.

  • is this worth 30 dollars?

  • @mardfet Yep!

  • Should I buy this if I have an orginal 2600?

  • @TheBillbot Meah its your call. its a smaller version. But i also think its better to play the games with the original console. The FlashBack 2 is kick ass, but lacks the ancent feel of the 2600. Basicly if you LOVE 2600 games and dont want to lug around the 2600 on vacations or trips to friends, then then flash back 2 is perfect for you.

  • Next time...they need too have.."Custers Revenge" as one of the game choices lolol.

  • @ItalianAce custers revenge, sounds like a party!

  • 1:07-1:20

    You mean retrogamers?

  • @ECL28E I felt it explained its self

  • 1:07-1:20

    You mean retrogamers?

  • Great review, but it would had been great to tell us what the code is for the paddles! Also, what paddle games were they?

  • you gave it a 4 out of 5 but i didn't hear one con of the system

  • Take it all with a grain of salt. Its just an amiture review. the System is amazing, but its not a Full Fledged Atari 2600 . ..

  • i wish it had pacman

  • Flashback 2 for $100? All of the ones I find are in there $30's.

  • when the video was posted that was the price of em on line

  • I would give it a 5 outa 5

  • I do wish they would have used the original 2600 joystick design. In 77 when the very first atari heavy 6er was made, it shipped with a joystick that was much better than the later 2600 models. From the outside they look the same, but on the inside is a suspension system and even includes the fire button. The original suspension joystick is MUCH easier on your hands. Unfortunately, they are VERY hard to find. At 40 years old, my hands can't handle the non-suspension joysticks.

  • I'd have to say though that you are wrong with the statement that the 2600 is hard to find working. It's quite the opposite. I have only seen one broken 2600 in all my years of collecting.

  • Great review! I might pick one up just for the composite out.

  • Modding the Flashback 2 is very easy. You just need to buy an Atari 2600 cartridge slot for it. You can order the cartridge slots right from Atari. They still sell them.

  • I pre-ordered the Flashback 2+!!!! :-D

    It comes out on 2-22-10.

  • That was a good review, but I feel that you could've used a lot more voice when speaking. But, I still liked it.

  • My 2600 works as good as the FB2

  • @TheBillbot Great!

  • thanks

  • my friend has the atari flashback 2 its really fun to play but it has some games i dont like on it :(. i have something like it but its the console built into the controller it looks kinda cool and it has only 8 games awesome though. Thanks for this video :D

  • i am gonna mod mine. i have an original 2600 that works with some 100+ games.

however it's old, big and has its ware. the mod is easy and the parts common.

  • Seems like a great game console for younger generation like us to see what dad and mum plays during our age. Haha.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing!

  • That was a good review.

While you did praise the system, I've never seen it sold anywhere. (I live in Australia).

  • Great review, thanks. I bought my original 2600 in 1979 in 7th grade. I have it boxed up with about 40 cartridges. I have been meaning to hook it up again but maybe I'll buy a Flashback 2 instead. I'm 42 now but I still find these old games fun.

  • Excellent review.

  • Considering that I enjoy old game systems such as the Atari 2600, NES, and Genesis, I should consider purchasing this system. My family members had an original 2600, and they had Frogger, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, among many others. Thank you for creating this video. You're AWESOME!

  • does it have frogger

  • Wow, that was a surprisingly awesome review. I looked over this console on Ebay and mistook it as an Atari 2600. Then I realized it was a "Plug and Play" and thought it would be stupid, since I already had the first Flashback. Even though it looked very nostalgic, I ignored it.. God, should I have bought it. It looks awesome! The first one is okay I guess, but it's not nearly as cool as this! Nice review.

  • no wonder they gave pacman away for free

  • Great review brother!

  • This is a good review :)

  • Comment removed

  • the atari Flashback 2.0 is 29.99 at bestsku

  • So what games are on the 2600 that I can't get for this

  • There were hundreds of games released for the Atari 2600 - too many to list here - search "atari 2600 game list" to see them listed alphabetically.

  • The Atari 2600 was not the birthplace of the home console. the odyssey is although you could argue that they were fun or not.

  • Great review!

  • i bought it at a pawn shop for 15 dollars, and it was worth every cent =)

  • I actually got into old school Atari games with the first plug and play by Atari, the 10 in 1, and i'm very pleased to find the flashback 2!

  • the controllers arent the same. the slots that you put the controllers in are smaller than the original. I have an atari 2600 and a flashback 2, and you have tostuff the controller into the 2600 port.

  • oddesy was the birth place, nolan got his pong/cartride idea from it...

  • Is it good?

  • Yes i love it!

  • is it worth it compare to the REAL atari 2600

  • like i said in the review. I costs less then getting an Atari and all the games on the machine (not to mention you get some realy great home brew games) It feels and plays exactly the same. If you are a colector, you should get the real thing, but if oyu just want to play a handful of atari games for fun, the flashback 2 is realy great.

  • Okay, thanks

  • Keep in mind, it plays carts, too, with a tiny bit of modding.

  • I'm so curious to find out how we will view games of today in 30 or 40 years.

  • i got an original 2600 wit 40 games and an atari gamecenter thing, and it works perfectly, but it did cost meh a good 200 bucks

  • Nice review but theres's only one thing wrong with it. You said that it's next to impossible to find a working Atari 2600 that will work aswell as the Flashback, and that people will never own 40 cartridges and a perfectly working Atari.

I got 2 Atari 2600's, one Darth Vader and one woody 4 switcher. Those 2 work perfectly on my LCD tv and i got 24 cartridges, well on my way to 40 carts. It's actually not that hard to buy old carts and systems here in Northern Europe.

  • Seeing how you have 2 of the same machine, that tells me you are a colector of sort. As i clearly state in the review, This system is great for the non-colector. People who do not avidly colect games and just want to relive some old memorys are not going to have 40 games.

  • where can i get one only online or wat

  • I'd like to point out, you called the atari 2600 the first video game console

but.... the Magnavox Odyssey was the first system
