  • holy crap my power outage from that storm was only for like 2 days

  • ugh i hated that storm. it was so cold outside that you felt like your lungs were frozen.

  • I remember that crappy storm. My friend didn't have power for about a week. Fortunate my house never did lose power, one of the lucky ones I guess.

  • Neither did my friend... She lived in a high rise behind Eastland mall here in Columbus Ohio... Bad thing was there was no food... We ordered pizza from a place that braved the ice and crap and I was never so glad when the power came on... I was glad that the dog I had survived the storm. Formerly TGAHFAN.. I hope to God we NEVER go through that again....

  • Yeah, that makes two of us. That storm was lame.

  • wow this is very bad.. i was told about is by one of my friends called infantry701.. he lives there you see and he said about it on my snowy vid that i did a few days a go... but anyway nice video and glad your ok :-)

  • Thank you Red! I hope it never happens again. It was a first for me. Take care!

  • your welcome :-)

  • that storm killed my christmas spirit..luckily the power came back on before christmas

  • like sept11 dec 19 i hate that date now

  • Been through that myself... I am disabled and my Brother and law toook me to a friends apartment where I stayed there for 2 days and I had to leave my doggie as he was too high strung.. No one in my family came and took him to where there was power and ALMOST froze to death. Went out to another relitives place X mas eve and stayed there and the powe came on X mas AM. That was over 3 years ago.. Scared me to death. Glad Ur OK....

  • Oh your poor pup! That was the big reason I stayed home. Also I have to say. never in "my" life have I ever had a power lost last that long, so part of staying was due to "hope it comes back on soon" Im glad you and yours made it through your black out also! Thank you for you nice comments and Happy New Year!

  • Christmas eve 3 years ago... I came back to get my puppy and it was cold in my house... Water running in a stream throughout the house.. Went to the bathroom to go and when I went out to thecar, I stood there feeling like it was the end of the world.. Thanks for the good wishes and wish the best for you too... :-) ((HUGS FROM COLUMBUS OHIO))

  • that must of sucked, nice vid

  • Totally sucked! But I did clean my ceiling fans lol

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. We had a devistating ice storm back in 1991 and also in 2000. Over 350,000 people lost power during the 91 storm, some for over two weeks. I live in Rochester, NY. It's 3 deg. here now. Brrrr!

  • Thank You for watching! We should never forget how good we have it normally!

  • Hey Kim, sorry to see you had such a hard time during the storm and I'm glad you made it through all right.

    Regards,

    Padraig

  • Thank you Padraig. I really loved your video of that great Dec. in FT Wayne!

    Kim

  • Sorry Kim I meant to post that on here.

    Let me try it again.

    Kim

This is a very good documentation of your perils. The cold, the dark, your emotions, can all be felt in this video. It put chills down my spine. very good job lady.

    Ray

  • Thank you Ray! To be honest I couldnt watch the raw video for a few days. It sort of made me sick lol. Im glad you felt what I was trying to show, It can be hard in 10 mins! Big Hugs...

  • Wow!! Kim.. that was incredible. I've never been without power for more than a few hours. I can't imagine. Still we walk from room to room hitting light switches out of habit. I hope the propane didn't make you sick..??

Happy New Year and keep warm!!!!!!!!!

    Peter

  • Hi Peter! I think im all better. Im not waking up with the instant panic feeling I had for a few days after. Its going to be a good new year! Thanks for watching and I hope you and yours haves a Very Happy New Year!

    Kim

  • Sorry to hear...

I remember on the Flintstones they used raw power...the traffic lights were powered by monkeys inside them pulling switches...and when Fred opened his car hood it was powered by a hamster on a wheel :D

  • Dang I didnt think to put my critters to work! lol but alls well that ends well! Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!

  • moan moan moan, that's all the Americans do! A little bit of cold weather and you think the world has ended.

  • thousands of people in our part of the state were without power for as long as you were. It just goes to show you how much we depend on electricity. I'm glad you're ok.
