People say RIvers had such a bad season. He still was 6th in the league in Passing yardage and had a decent season. He threw so many picks because he was playing with a practice squad offensive line. Ive been debating who the better QB is, Philip Rivers or Matt Schaub? Theyre the same age and came into the NFL the same year. They have similar numbers but Rivers has been a starter a little bit longer than Schaub.

Eli Manning is the most overrated player in the NFL right now.
He's pretty good, but Rivers is still better.
Look at Manning's offense: Cruz, Nicks and Manningham - that's arguably the best receiving core in the league. Ahmad Bradshaw is great 3-down back.
Playing with a great defense that an hold teams to under 20 points in the playoffs helps a lot too.
What does Rivers have??? A porous defense, the worst special teams in the league, and hobbled Antonio Gates. Ryan Matthews is overrated.

I can't agree with this line of thinking. Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham have developed into top-tier wide receivers because of Eli Manning and maturing as a group. Remember, it was just last year when Eli threw 25 picks, with about half of them going off of the receivers' fingertips.
Rivers has had an array of talent around him since he's been the starting QB of the Chargers. I'd say he's better than Romo but not in the Top 5 as far QBs go.

People say RIvers had such a bad season. He still was 6th in the league in Passing yardage and had a decent season. He threw so many picks because he was playing with a practice squad offensive line. Notice how in December when Dumbrowskie was finally gone Rivers was on fire. Wait til next season, I have a feeling Rivers is gonna light it up.

Ive been debating who the better QB is, Philip Rivers or Matt Schaub? Theyre the same age and came into the NFL the same year. They have similar numbers but Rivers has been a starter a little bit longer than Schaub.

Rivers has developed into an elite QB since coming into the league in 2004. Idk how he didn't make the Pro Bowl in 2008, He led the NFL in touchdown passes with 34 that year.

@rdr27ification Yeah but he was never the reason we lost those games. In the AFC championship game it was 21-13 chargers over the pats and it was late in the 4th quarter and marlon mcree fumbled an interception when it was 4th and 5. They recovered it and the rest is history. Therefore it was not Rivers' fault.

2008- Beat a 12-4 Colts team wild card.
2009- Beat the entire NFC East which had two 11-5 playoff teams.
2011- dismantled Ravens.

First of all the Steelers were the defending Superbowl Champions. If you call beating the Colts 2 straights years in a row embarrassing with an injured roster, well that's your problem but everybody with a brain knows that is impressive. 2006 2009 colts went to the superbowl 2007 2008 couldn't beat us. Give me Rivers any day any game. One injured season by Rivers doesn't change a career of busting tails.
