Everytime my cousin is kind enough to go let her kids go and see him, they come home filthy, and hungry. Her son has come back with croup each and every time. Lost my Dad when I was 9 to ALS. Begged God to just bring him back. I was taught that if you asked in Jesus name, prayer was answered. It didn't happen, and I lost faith. Refused to pray and almost hated God for 2 years. One evening during service at the youth camp Mom sent us to, I went up to the alter. Don't remember why. Knelt and spoke to God, apologized, asked him to give Dad my love. Bawled for over an hour. Went out and sat in the dark (I was afraid of the dark) and just felt... peace.

I was blessed beyond words. My father was my best friend until cancer took us from him. He got 9 years after a 6 month prognosis; we called it "angel time". But this song still kicks me in the gut... I got to hear Jimmy Wayne once at an in store show at the County Music Hall of fame, but I am a lifetime fan. Jimmy, thank you for your music and helping me understand.

He was hit by a van and it nearly killed him. I heard this one 2 years to the day I had last seen him. My dad wasn't just a "great" dad. He beat me, and left me with my crack-headed mother. She finally got arrested and he figured out his responsibilty.. He died a few years ago, but I am glad that he did love me.

when i was little before i got put in foster care and adopted, i remember questioning if my dad loved me. he always put booze before me.... he was never home. he was always at bars and always drinking... and when he was home, all i rememember is hearing my parents fighting... and i remember seeing my dad holding a knife to my mom's neck.. i still love him even though i havent seen him for eight years...and i still wonder if he loves me... do you miss me??

I have 2 boys. One is mine biologically the other is an adopted son from a previous relationship. I got with his mom when he was 9 months, he is now 6 and is one of the most amazing people i have ever known. His biological father wants nothing to do with him, he doesn't even know him nor has he ever met him. It always amazes me how guys can do that. I didn't have my real dad for a while and I grew to hate him because of things I was told, but he is a part of my life now. I PRAY to GOD my son's dad will realize what an AMAZING thing he is missing out on! My father just passed away a little over a year ago & I hadn't met him until 4 years ago. I was raised by a man who loved me as his own, but when my father died it killed a part of me. I never heard HIS reason for not being in my life. My mom told me that it was because she wouldn't let him have custody of me. Now I guess I'll never know for sure. There can be fathers with problems, But their our dads no matter what. My dad liked to smoke, he died of lung cancer. I wish I knew who my dad was. My dad died when I was first born. I know he will always be un my heart. I wish he was here to watch me how much I have grown. I know my dad was there when I went through my surgery. We I get older I know I will still have a dad but he won't be here. That was a very simplistic telling of the events, but I didn't have much room. YouTube doesn't give you space to testify. (feel weird using that word but I guess that's what it is) Still praying, still talking to my Dad and God. Don't care what people think about that. As a child I didn't understand, as an adult I try to. But He's always been there for me when I needed Him the most. Any other time, we're on our own on to a certain extent. He gave us free will. Lost my Dad when I was 9 to ALS. Begged God to just bring him back. I was taught that if you asked in Jesus name, prayer was answered. It didn't happen, and I lost faith. Refused to pray and almost hated God for 2 years. One evening during service at the youth camp Mom sent us to, I went up to the alter. Don't remember why. Knelt and spoke to God, apologized, asked him to give Dad my love. Bawled for over an hour. Went out and sat in the dark (I was afraid of the dark) and just felt... peace.
