Everyone's a critic! I've heard all the hoopla about Bose, but I'm sold on them. It's probably more brand loyalty than anything. What you dont see are are the 4 subs (1 bose AM-7 sub for the front, 2 AM-5 subs for the surround and rear surrounds on the bar shelves, and the Yamaha powered 12 under the Gramaphone. I know it doesnt sound like much using a wimpy little cannon powershot, but it really does fill the room with sound. 7.1 is definately the way to go.

Well positioned? Are you serious? The fronts are supposed to be ear level while sitting down. The rears are supposed to be ear level standing up.

Also, fact that Bose speakers are cheaply mad, yet VERY overpriced. Do some research, Google it. A real home theater does NOT have Bose.

@Site4Animation jep, your totally right, my home build cyburgs needles cost me arround 70euro and they are wayyyyy better than the bose system of my friend and the logitech system of my brother,.... but hey, if your room is sized bigger or more little it might be sound differend etc! the room, the amp, the position of the speaker, it all influence the sound of your system! :) if all the bose fanboys have too much money or just like the kind the speaker sound, let them have there fun ;)

I've got a yamaha 12 that gets the job done. IMHO, no passive system will ever get the bass response a seperate, active sub will. And even the 12 is a tad too small to get the job done for that space.
