always hated the ending where you "gave" the tablet to Esher. Seemed to be a little unrealistic. Here he is, gloating about how superior he is and how "feeble" your mind is. Sure enough... you just stand there, dumb as a post, for a good 2 minutes or so.
*how the scene played out in my head when i got this ending*
Me: *places tablet in holder*
Ester: *links in and gapes at the tablet*
Me: Hey Esher! See that tablet? Touch it and you'll meet my friend "Remington". Capisce?
I don't like how after 6 games ... you still are not able to go back to "earth - aka - the real world". You are stuck in these fantasy worlds either by yourself or with Atrus and Yeesha forever.
@GEES44DC not exactly. Atrus lets you go through the Fissure at the end of Riven, thinking it will return you back to Earth, which it does. His family moved to a place on Earth: Tomahna, a hidden place in the New Mexico desert, like Black Mesa! That's also the place it connects to the Cleft in URU, although you can't tell because the cable car used to reach it is gone.
@Flutist11 More, it's the guy who played Jumba in Lilo + Stitch, and the Clock guy, "Cogsworth", in Beauty and the Beast: David Odgen Stiers, a famous Disney actor.
i really dislike both the endings from myst V to be honest, as a child always played trough them all as a family activity, the refrence to the original myst was in it but the true FMV's are what made the game so much more then just the sprites in this game which was honestly, the end at mysy IV
@PufferfishCreations he seems to be actually writing on it with a pen or stylus, like how Egyptians wrote on clay. That seems to be remotely controlling the Bahro, because it is linked to them.
There are 3 endings not 4. Good ending and 2 bad endings. First two from your movie are one. When you give tablet to Yeeshe you go on the island and there will be the second movie with Esher and as you can see he said "...now it has slipped through her hands...". When you leave the tablet on piedestal and go to island he tells same thing, but as you know from game, she can't take tablet alone :)
Can someone please tell me, the good ending means you leave the slate for the bahro, but if you drop the slate in dn'i that means you never get to see myst island. I dont think it's very good that you can only see myst island in the bad endings, to recieve the good ending you dont even get to go there.
@Voytek1985 there are actually 4. the tone of Esher's voice changes if it's a different circumstance about not bringing the Tablet. happened to me, anyway.
*Esher begins to gloat*
Me: This guy and Gehn should meet. They both love to hear themselves talk.

Giving the tablet to Esher is the most hilarious bad ending.

What a strange family; Sirius and Achenar were crazy, Gehn was evil, and Yeesha was just weird.
