  • in the video it shows Sri Lankan Monks, but the voice is completely a foreign, this video been mixed with different audio it seems..... and it is not spelled out very well... because the rhyming is not actually spells pali, to spell pali perfectly you need to learn Sinhalese properly first, because Pali language is 80% pure Sinhalese.

and when this sutta starts, he is not inviting the gods, and this monk or the person does not worship buddha, dhamma and sangha....

  • May I know from which country is it??

  • @yeewai87 Sri Lanka

  • 1 person wants to go to hell

  • Awesome Pali...

  • Ratana Sutta is one of my favorites. Lord Buddha chanted this sutta in Vesali to bless the city inhabitants who underwent hardship by famine, drought, diseases and bad spirits (many people died).

    Sadhuuuu!

  • It's about the sound vibrations that Pali chanting has its effects. Not so much about the meaning of the words.

Hebrew language has the same effects of sounds.

  • well..In my opinion, this chanting is done just for the sake of doing it . The monks don't seemed to be well disciplined and in control. They roll their eyes and looking around. Just reading it like a stupid parrot.

There is no weight, seriousness and devoted feelings around.

For me they are not genuinely true Buddhist monks. at least they cant pretend it.

  • @tincoster hello my friend, please look at the video, this video is not the real one which matches the audio, also these monks are in some kind of a mental pressure becase of this video recording.. this voice mostly near to the tai or tibet monk chanting, and he is spelling out the words very strongly which is not real pali..

  • @tincoster 'real' monks in Thailand roll there eyes too, lol they are not the serious type monks we are led to think of as 'real' because they are also real people.
