I know it's cold to say this, but I just can't find a way to give a fuck when something bad happens to a cop. As far as I'm concerned, even if the cop didn't do anything to deserve it in that particular instance, it's karma balancing the cosmic scales for all the bad shit the cop has done to people and all the rights he has violated. I'm not going to cheer the guy who kills a cop, but I sure as hell am not going to feel bad for the cop either.

If police officers would read the constitution before swearing an oath to protect and defend it then things like this would not happen. All crimes fall under 4 catagorys and 4 catagorys only. 1 someone has been harmed 2 property has been stolen 3 property has been destroyed 4 property has been trespassed upon. There must be a victim to either to file a claim or a victim that is deceased that a claim must be filed for. Uniform commercial code does not apply to americans without a signed contract.
