loved 'The Stones" just nothing after Stickey Fingers....seemed to kinda go main stream, even went a little disco sounding.Hey...I guess its about making money
Hey, who cares. Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile On Main Street all made the RS as famous as they were, as far as great album makers go.
Is it just me or was the 60s and the 70s THE SHIT as far as rock 'n' roll is concerned? Elvis and Chuck Berry were earlier, OK, but come on, everything great about rock happened in those two decades especially - phenomenal.
This song is the reason why Keith is and was such an underrated guitarist. Simple song, but I can play this a thousand times and still not capture the emotion he manages to wrench from Johnson's classic.
@jkgeiger1 yeah man haha theres just too many to choose... doesn't feel right ranking them. Although i'd say that even though i loved black and blue (especially that song memory motel) that might be one of their weaker album from that time period. not saying its bad, i love that album, i'm just saying it doesn't have as many gems as the others...
Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet, Exile, Sticky Fingers, I think those are the stones top 4. I'd put Let It Bleed over Exile, but Exile is still incredibly classic and phenomenal as an album. Then you've got the other greats, Some Girls, Goats Head Soup, Aftermath, It's Only Rock N Roll. Through and Tattoo You & some of the real early stuff. The best rock band in the world!!!
what a great cover from back when covers really were tributes rather than money making ventures. jagger never sounded better imo, well maybe cant you hear me knocking. this could bring a tear to a glass eye

Well no matter which album is best, all their songs still kick the shit out of the junk being spoon-fed today.

@Henry8544 IMO their most clever cover was the graffiti-covered bathroom stall wall on "Beggar's Banquet".
