  • It is a little amazing, however that, to my knowkedge, there was never a triple whammy out, which would have been a game with the maximum of 12 whammies, not couinting games where whammies were lost. Frankly, I wanted to see a game with 12 whammies, but that never happened.

  • 3:50 That was absurd. Eight whammies showing and he hits the one square where the whammy just left!

  • LOVE The Cyndi whammy.

  • I noticed when Jacquie whammied out Matt didn't look all that thrilled

  • What was the highest total of cash earned in the 1980's back-to-school? XD

  • 11 whammies?? woooww. i never saw that many in one game. i bet there are a couple more game where this happened

  • @barber215 It happened at least one other time on PYL, and I recall it happening once on Whammy!

  • why didn't he took disneyworld he's already the winner

  • I realized hecould have had $6322 if he didn't whammy.

  • well he does land on it but the smart thing would to do is to stop

  • @Hawkwing4556 How you figure that ?

  • I'm surprised there was a winner at all.

  • Oh my god! Ok! Who forgot to feed the whammies? LOL (I always say that when two players whammy out.)

  • I agree someone must not have fed them or sumthing for them to run amok (I think that with game with 9 or more whammies)

  • @TheDragonBoss I would say now that the Whammy World Order (wWo) has taken over! LOL!

  • Whammies are out today! 11 whammies! crazy game! I can kinda see why this never aired on CBS originally

  • That doesn't make any sense.

  • I have no doubt it's serious, but that doesn't make it true. A likelier explanation is that it was the first game with the new board and a sort of dry run. Unless Jacquie, Matt, or Roxy can tell us, all we're doing is speculating.

  • You don't know what you're talking about. The Back to School Week games were the first filmed with the new board.

  • Which already had been filmed. An old friend of mine was there.

I don't want to argue about it, so this is my last post about it.

  • I can imagine their parents' reaction to the kids if they whammied out. D:

  • These were actually taped first, before the two episodes that week with the new board. They aired the other way, though.

  • All I can say is....WOW

  • Oy, another "Hasta luego! Arrivaderci! Bon voyage! That means GOODBYE!!!"

  • I think the way it goes...if they didn't give the winnings due to the episode not airing, GSN would have had to give out the winnings. Of course, with inflation and such, it'd probably be cheaper for them to just give the cash instead of the prizes as they were...

...which really wouldn't be the worst thing. You figure you won't ever see the money, forget about it, and a few decades later a check comes in.

  • Whew! That was TOO close!! One more whammy on that and Matt would've lost and we would have ALL losers!! Congrats, Matt!!!! YOU"RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD, BABY!!!!!!!!!!! WHOO!!!

  • That was really something to see.

  • On an interesting note, Press Your Luck has never had three straight Whammy eliminations. They've had three $0 survivors, but that's a different situation compared to this episode.
