  • screw that i got the asus eee pad transformer for 399 no 499

  • LOL looks like ipad? Must be blind as the German judge.

  • @MobileTechReview

Whats Is Motorola Xoom's Price In India

  • @abhishek99977 the 32 GB one comes at around 27K...

  • Are both work with .mkv format movie?

  • @SuperALyN10 Use a 3rd party player to play .mkv if the built-in doesn't work.

  • why are you supporting a black market item??????? its a dead item! cannot update the Xoom Firmware. why put the update in and kill it????????????????????????????????? Motorola is a scam! a Fucking Scam. customer service is fucked up!

  • nO nO NO xOOM IS FUCKED UP. TAKE IT FROM THE EXPERT THAT GOT FUCKED 600.00 + SHIPPING AND ABES OF MAINE FUCKED ME OVER. PULLING THE FUCKING SHIT OF ALL SALES ARE FUCKING FINAL

  • xoom is shit! dead firmware. cnnot update update 3.1. CPU TOO SLOW. Micro SD slot dead.

blame on both firmware and harware., apps dead force shut down. LCD screen most of the time I cannot see the screen due to sun light and lighting fixture, Motorola service is fucked up. fake repair service. fucking rude service made in black market china. do not buy the Xoom

  • Galaxy far better

  • Thank you for your great review. Going to order me a Motorola XOOM right now :) I couldn't decide until I saw your video.

  • @xzystence Excellent! Let us know how you like it.

  • @MobileTechReview I got mine from Newegg.com for $379 it was labeled as "refurbished", however it came brand new, sealed - 0 scratches...in box and everything. I am in love with this thing, it's very fast & finally I can keep all my data / contacts organized! Great piece of hardware :)

  • Great review!!

The USB connectivity and adapters are a turn off in the Samsung, I think I'll go for the MOTO :)

  • Saw good deals on both of these tablets selling on a site called MYLILTOYBOX. samsung galaxy for $256.94 and the motorola xoom is goin for $467.31

  • Great review!

Are any of them compatible with Microsoft office (Word in particular)?

  • @TheStardustinthesky There are mobile Office suites that work with Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and you can get them from the Android Market.

  • 1080p like always - I LOVE IT!

  • does the Xoom has call function?

  • her voice gives me a head ache :(

  • which do you prefer for school? Samsung galaxy tab or ipad 2

  • @rukisan159 hardly depending on your opinion for the OSs. Both are more than enough in terms of speed and graphics - probably more or less the same (my opinion). Your decision is iOS or Android...

  • @rukisan159 I myself would opt for the Galaxy Tab because it's easier to load office docs on. With an iPad 2 you would need to connect to iTunes -_-

If you want to play games though you may want to go for the iPad 2 -- we all know that the iPad 2 has more games than Honeycomb.

  • @faizsaleem118 hehe tnx, i'd rather go for the productive stuff games will come and adroid is growing anyway.

  • Yet another informative & interesting review from the Lisa. Thanks.

  • @johnm9billion Thanks very much for the support!

  • the galaxy Tab I have it

  • im buying a xoom.......

  • got the galaxy tab... read that the xoom has bunch of bugs

  • Xoom

  • why wouldnt she have the same background if shes going to do a Color test?

  • Comment removed

  • Are any of them adequate for being a primary computer or should I still stick with a PC?

I only use the PC for web browsing, watching movies, downloading music, playing video games, administering work projects, and communicate with my peers.

    Thanks! :)

  • @PREstudz000 The Android tablets run a different OS than PCs. While power and functions are plenty, make sure that the apps, games and services you use on the PC are also available on tablets first.

  • @MobileTechReview Thanks. I'll be reflecting on that. :)

  • @PREstudz000 Use a Desktop PC and a tablet.

No point in having to portable devices lol

  • thanks for the review...

Would the GPS work without 3G or 4G?

Also, are the drives on xoom (MicroSD and HDMI) totally operational and updated by google?

    thanks again!

  • @TheVision4Him You need a connection for real time navigation, though you can check the map data any time. If you have a phone that offers mobile hotspot, you can use that to connect the tablet on the go. Yes, Google can update firmwares on the Xoom.

  • Well I would much rather get one of these than the ipad

  • expandable memory, sturdier build, not much extra software, google having bought motorola mobility, hdmi port, faster response....I think I'll get the xoom!

samsung definitely seems to be going towards the apple route.

    good review, pretty informative.

  • @1erichesse where?

  • the xoom costs 199.99 today only

  • @1erichesse where?

  • this video has the wrong title, it should be: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 defeats in all aspects the Motorola Xoom

  • so is there a model without 3g so i dont have to pay monthly

  • @HasNoLife111 Yes, there is a WiFi only Galaxy Tab.

  • is the xoom good with viewing movies

  • Hey Lisa!!! I love your videos!! I have a question, I have three tablet options for this holiday season. They are, the Motorola Xoom, Asus Transformer, and the HTC Flyer. Which one overall is the best of these three? Thank you, and KEEP IT UP!! :D

  • So at the end of the day witch one is better for my 12 year old?

He wants one for Xmas and its the only thing he wants sooo.....?

  • is that a chick or guy speaking

    no offence

  • tab

  • The hell! when you bump the xoom to the wall the wall be dented LMAO!

  • @animeware where did u get it for $250.00

  • @shotsnhops ur veal a giant piece of crap

  • I've just got my Motorola Xoom Wifi for $250

  • @animeware $250? You got be kidding. Xoom tops in all aspects of hardware. Motorola didn't put any effort of cost reduction in its design and manufacture. Motorola didn't make any money by selling Xoom.

  • Questions for motorala xoom:

can you download from the internet?

dose it come with a pen with a pencial like tip?

what kinds of imports (like for a USB and ect) dose it have?

  • Im gonna go with the Xoom! Besides, I think the screen looks just as good on the Xoom!

  • I seriously dont understand why Samsung removed micro-sd card driver, usb. And a tablet like that must have hdmi out.

  • @ceduardoam believe me, its just much better lke that. When you have an sd card, and the memory is full, and you want to change it, then all that info will be lost. It is just better having your data in one only single memory, it just makes things more organized. btw, they give you an election between how many gb...

  • @danhoot12 It seems that samsung now is selling some adapters. Btw I bought a Galaxy. Really a nice tab.

  • @ceduardoam im buying one this week, but there is a very high probability of buying the galaxy. Just looks from a simple computer screen like an amazing tab.

  • @danhoot12 Yeah its amazing :) Have fun

  • @ceduardoam thanx (cant wait for it XD)

  • Salesperson:

    Xoom = Powerful + Masculine + Solid + SD Card + USB.

    Galax...

Me: wait, I'll take the Xoom :D.

  • theres a newer samsung galaxy tablet (samsung galaxy 2tablet 10.1) ,t has the same name but it has 8megepixel camera

  • @prohacker883 actually i think its the samsung galaxy 10.1v

  • plaese does the xoom have a USB port?

  • it is pleasure to see your reviews, please can you let me whether Motrola xoom supports USB charging via 3.0 USB and also I have found a link which mentioned its supports USB charging, please can you add your comments on it.

  • They are both good tablets. Xoom looks more manly and Galaxy 10.1 more girly. Xoom is bulky and Galaxy fragile. Therefore Xoom is more male oriented and Galaxy more female oriented. Xoom was released much earlier than Galaxy 10.1. (Feb 24, 2011 vs June 8, 2011). If you are not Apple fanboy, you can't be wrong to choose either one. BTW, besides Xoom, Galaxy 10.1 and Ipad 2, the rest of tablets are all junks.

  • @goldmonkey77 The Asus EEE Pad Transformer is good

  • A review without compare them by launching game??

  • Can I make calls on Motorola xoom? thnx

  • @thilakmal Not via cellular but you can via VoIP.

  • I would say it's more xoom is better because you get a lot, usb, hdmi, sd card ect, while Samsung, you have to buy a lot of cables to get the features, apple style samsung is copying. Xoom is at £299-£309 price, it's dropping. I decided I was going to buy the xoom even newer tablets come in. I won't spend a price of a good laptop on a tablet. Plus i want a tab thats looks good, surfs net and plays movies. Xoom has that so xoom all the way.

  • MOTOROLA XOOM ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great review.

Though, please try and keep the camera completely still

  • Which tablet should i get for a middle schooler ?? i want to get something that i get a lot of apps.

  • @cuteartemisjody123 The ipad is not great for browsing and customization but for apps i would get the ipad 2.

  • When it comes to image quality for Black and white photographs, which one is better? I want to use a tablet as a sort of portable portfolio.

  • what u think which tablet i have to get in india ?

  • i think your hot

  • Which one would you recommend me to buy, i want one that is good for gaming, good camera, better resolution, better speed and better internet experience, please help??

  • the Motorola xoom is £329.99 for the wifi only version at pc world , by far the best buy !

  • Thank u for the vid now I know what I want now am picking the xoom

  • motorola xoom was better

  • Only if Xoom was as pretty as Samsung Tab :(

  • can you review the touchwize plz?

  • the zoom is the better of the 2 tablets, even though samsung might look better i can tell just by the reputations of each company that samsung has allot of plastic on there tab while motorola will use allot of metal or aluminum & quality build. also the bezel on the moto xoom is shorter than the galaxy tabs, which to me makes it look better over all. one thing though that samsung will usually have above its competitiors is the screen technology, sammy has an LPS screen *better than ips*

  • How good is the bluetooth keyboard compared to Asus eee pads keyboard and how does the zoom perform in writing with documents with e.g QuickOffice

  • can u add portable speakers like bose to xoom for loudness

  • @koolkay35 The Xoom has both a 3.5mm audio out jack and Bluetooth A2DP for wireless audio streaming.

  • it'll dent the wall instead XD

  • i tried both of them and i didn't see much of a difference between the two.

  • Nice review, a good amount of objectivity and clear and concise explanations.

A few tips for future comparisons:

    1) If you're going to test the touch responsiveness and/or speed at which the tablets open apps it would help viewers to press a particular app (which should be the same) at the same time as its difficult to discern the difference without this methodology.

    2) Compare apples to apples (no pun intended) when comparing the display, it might help to have the same wallpaper.

  • If I want to get a motorola xoom with 3G, do I have to have a data plan to use the 3G network?

  • @samshrew12 yes

  • the xoom is a secret gem. its either xoom or the Ipad.

  • and yes the xoom has full flash and is currently running on 3.2 in the US

  • love them both but in the end (especially after the touchwiz update) xoom is the better pick.

  • can the Xoom play flash?

  • is the xoom wifi gonna have 3.2?

  • xoom the best

  • I have Samsung galaxy phone so i got the tab...the first time the screen had a permanent mark as if someone press down on it really hard...now on my second one just went dead..i will return back to day but im scared to replace it again...i love it but now I'm thinking of getting the Motorola... I have no idea if it's my luck or if in best buy they handle the apple with love and Samsung with hate...or maybe Samsung tabs suck. Anyway im really mad cause i really want the Samsung tab

  • can u please start the video at the same time to let us compare

  • I'll have to disagree with you. I like the look and feel of my Motorola Xoom more than the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

  • SD card works for Xoom 3g model and also the other models, finally

  • I bought my 32 gig xoom at staples for $399. one because they where having a sale and two because they messed up and gave me the 32 gig when I asked for the 16.

  • @goglee2 they only have 32 gigabyte model for 499

  • haha. she's right, it is a tank. I was pouting stuff on my bed and I stretched my arm out and slammed it into my ceiling and it busted a small hole in to the ceiling with no damage to the xoom.

  • I wish Samsung galaxy tab came in 64 gig as well does anyone know if the SD slot works on the xoom yet ?

  • @CHILDOFHARLEM ... yes .. if you are in U.S. the Xoom has been updated to 3.2 ..And the SD Card slot officially works .. i have the Xoom WiFi only version .. love it .. still has a few bugs to be ironed out , but nothing is perfect .. i have had my Xoom for 5 months .. glad i picked the XOOM over the others on the market , but hey, to each his/her own .. it's all about preference .. i like customization and i love Android OS ..

  • So since they lowered the price of the Xoom to 499 for 32 gigs, would you say its the winner for 100 less?

  • Hi just wanted to know the difference between a netbook and tablet anyone?

and also if you can save documents pictures music just like an laptop/ netbook...

  • @KSHAY9 .. apps , customization, and operating system .. i like to use apps, i like to customize things and move what i want where i want , and make it look like i want , i like widgets and live wallpapers, and i like Android operating system .. that's why i personally bought a tablet rather than a netbook .. can't speak for others .. only my own personal experience ..

  • Thanks Lisa for another great informative video. I was going for the Galaxy 10.1, but now after watching your video the Xoom is the better pick for me.

  • ,,,,I prefer Galaxy, but prob Buy XOOM, X has official battery replacemnt service,,,,

  • Could a tablet replace a laptop? Btw I'm going into university and was debating on whether or not a tablet could work out for me.

  • @Bassman9393 In my opinion, tablets work best as compliments to laptops. For university, I'd advise you buy/keep your laptop and buy a tablet if you've got money to spare. A desktop & tablet combo works pretty well too.

  • The Xoom has SD CARD SUPPORT!!!

  • @jacknumber13000 Motorola announced today (July 20, 2011) that the Android Honeycomb 3.2 update is rolling out and it will have support for the SD card slot for the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi version in the U.S. They expect the roll out will continue to the Verizon Xoom models in the coming weeks.

  • @MobileTechReview Noooooo!!!! Just wondering what would you prefer: Toshiba Thrive, Asus Transformer, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Xoom, and HP TouchPad. I like a tablet that can do Music, Videos, some games, and Good Web Browser(that includes Flash). Mainly the Web Browser:) What would offer the best experience?

  • @MobileTechReview

Do you know if 3.1 or 3.2 is available for canada yet? Its been so long and they havent released it. Only the U.S gets these updates

  • @MobileTechReview CAN YOU CALL USING SAMSUNG G 10.1?

  • @wenzlinon29 Not via cellular. You can via VoIP.

  • great review. i think im gonna buy a xoom

  • Good review. Well detailed.

  • Such a fantastic review! You don't find reviews this good often. Thank you for the comparison. I went with the Samsung Galaxy just because of it's lightweight and beautiful screen.

  • I have my doubts.Whats better anyway?

  • Comment removed

  • XOOM continue kickin asses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    xD

  • Xoom is crap

  • @shotsnhops explain

  • Android 3.2 coming to the Xoom in the next few days. Looking forward to new features, maybe SD card support?? Great review as always.

  • Is Touch Wiz really going to make a difference though?

  • @KiddFresh96 We will try it as soon as Samsung has it and report back!

  • @KiddFresh96 i have a galaxy s and touchwiz had completely crippled my phone. even after a deodexed custom rom it still suffers from that samsung garbage

  • @soulshot96 you can easily disable touchwiz

  • @fossilshale How can you disable touchwiz because I am looking at the Galaxy Tab 10.1 but TouchWiz is holding me back

  • nice review, if i was to take this unit say to Singapore could i use a local carrier there or wld the unit have to be unlocked like those mobile phones and i heard the sdcard slot doesn't actually work off the bat. I was thinking of taking my camera sdcard and putting it straight to the xoom, wld that actually work? sorry for all the questions :)

  • @princeterry1 For the Motorola Xoom, the US version doesn't yet have the support for the SD card slot, Google is working on it. The European version of the Xoom got an update that included the SD card support. The Xoom WiFi version is unlocked. Check with your local carrier to see if they supports the Xoom for data.

  • @MobileTechReview therefore the xoom is hardware specific based on where u buy the unit only the OS is flexible am i right in saying so...? i bought the US model n do a lot of travelling overseas, what wld u suggest?

  • Xoom kicks every tablets ass, galaxy tab and Ipad2 included.

  • Can I use a tablet without signing up with a carrier. Im thinking buying the MOTOROLA XOOM..

    Nice video tho.

  • @molotono12 If you get the WiFi only version you certainly don't have sign up with a carrier. If you get the Xoom from Verizon, you can get the retail price and use the data month to month without a contract also.

  • @MobileTechReview Thanks!

  • Great video , very helpful .

  • i disagree the xoom looks better

  • You know guys sense pretty much most of us are android fans why dont we talk.about why are tablets are better than the ipad so the apple fanboys know what there missing!....... Im jusss sayin.

  • Nice review as usual guys. Galaxy tab 10.1 will still be my first choice once it comes around to my area. But i recon the Asus Transformer is better than the Xoom, you get all the same ports plus a physical keyboard and a better display for a cheaper price.

  • Que caso tiene comparar dos tabletas android sabiendo que sol casi la misma pendejada

  • Excellent comparison but the Samsung rules!!

  • Thanks for the great reviews.

  • Im throwing out my ipad and im getting a xoom today.

  • the aspect ratio of honeycomb tablets is actually 16:10 not 16:9. both support flash

  • my XOOM xoomssss pass the galaxy tab or even ipad. yuhuuuuuu

  • Nice review. I'm going with the xoom personally

  • Has Samsung said anything on the availability on the USB adapter?

  • @DarknessAlchemist00 It should be out very soon. We posted news on a new line of Tab accessories coming soon from Samsung MobileTechReview, do a search for "Galaxy Tab Accessories" on the site, you will see all the details.

  • 2 things to say: I liked your review, objective and quick (i am getting the xoom).

AND on the xoom, on the browsing experience, is it easily succeptible to viruses? If so, how can I prevent that without having to pay or do anything illegal?

    thnx

  • Just to clear ppls doubts: THEY BOTH HAVE ADOBE FLASH PLAYER...

  • @Thegoob95 In what way is the Tab 10.1 a TOTAL copy of the iPad 2.Give some examples and spare us the apple fanboyism. I can tell you how the Tab 10.1 is NOT 1. 16:9 aspect ration vs 4:3 2. NO bezel vs black or white bezel 3. camera in landscape mode vs portrait mode 4. no physical home button vs physical home button 5. volume rocker and power button in totally different positions 6. edge to edge screen vs no edge to edge screen 7. TOTALLY different OS and Screen layout. 8. all of the above
  • Great video! What about the battery life?

  • Both

  • Any of these have flash?

  • @XxSSjUltimatexX Yes, they do. You download it on Android market. Works great on browser and flash games

  • The heavier the product, the harder it falls on the ground. Therefore, the XOOM hits the pavement harder causing MORE damage.

  • @Thegoob95

Wrong. Galaxy Tab is 16:9 aspect ratio, iFad is 4:3.

  • Wow, before this video I though galaxy tab was BETTER
