I loved this ride but I rode it when I was 9 so it was pretty traumatic!!! And when I rode both carts were going and I beat my uncle and sis and dad so it was funny and so much fun!!!!!!
Gemini is a mind trick. It looks like a wooden coaster, but its rails are actually the steel coaster style. That makes it quite smooth, but you get the added excitement of the wooden structure flying by and the "race coaster" effect. I've only ridden it once when they weren't running both trains, and it wasn't nearly as much fun.
k so im going to cedar point for two days in august and i know i probably won't be able to get on ever coaster so i'm trying to get on the big ones like ttd, millenium, wicked twister, maverick, etc. But i'm also trying to get on at least one of the following: corkscrew, blue streak, gemini, mean streak, and cedar creek mine ride. could someone who has been here before rank these in order from best worst? thanks!
@Kukes9095 Well it depends on what you enjoy. some people do not like the corkscrew because of the head smacking. the meanstreak can jerk you around so id put my feet against the wall, or seat, in front of you. but if you want my opinion, My fav is gemini, then corkscrew, then the blue streak, mind ride, then mean streak. hope this helps!

@Kukes9095 normaly the lines are any where from 15-30 minutes long. i have never seen them longer than that. it depends on how busy they are. but on fridays and saturdays shouldnt be more than 20 minutes. Id be suprised if they were. also id recomend riding it at night because the trim breaks are disengaged for a slightly faster ride.

1 of the wooden roller coasters @ 6 Flags Magic Mountain, the park I go 2 here in California, it's a twin race like this 1. The 1 here in California has a really close idea of this design of how this ride goes. I'ts not exact but it has the same idea
I think this is most eveyones first. And at the time it was built it was the tallest and the fastest in the world. This one and the Magnum really set the standard when it comes to modern day roller coasters. They can both be credited to starting the Coaster wars. So I thank you

@SupaAznSaiyan you might wanna try something like the Wicked Twister or the Mantis, really fast rides don't go so well for first timers (unless you're an adrenaline junkie). I thought my heart stopped when I rode the Raptor for the first time, it was my first roller coaster too. After that I chickened out & didn't wanna ride anything else lol
@xXxOchibaxXx im used to fast. i drive with many asian drivers. but not so fast as up to over 80 its the height that scares me....i was considering iron dragon or raptor as first....then magnum or maverick if i dont chicken out. and finnaly millenium top thrill is a no no in my book
@SupaAznSaiyan Yeah both of the rides are good for first timers. The mean streak is longer, has a few more drops, and its a little bit faster than the Gemini. Yes, I was scared at first but if you keep riding rides over and over, you can overcome that fear. Throw your hands up and take a deep breath and then scream on drops, works for me. I don't know about the head chopper part, seems like your going so fast that it looks like you might hit your head but you won't hit it.

Not the best ride in the park, but fun anyways. It usually has very short lines, so there really is no excuse why u shouldn't ride it. I loved going around the turns and giving high fives to the train next to u. It was pretty smooth because it is an imitation coaster, wood supports, but steel track.

I went on this today! It was awesome! I love the "headchopper" part, it's hilarious to see everyone duck because they think they're gonna hit the wood.

Everytime I go to Cedar Point I say I'm not getting on that crazy ride again. That beam is a death trap. And every year I find myself riding the coaster at least 3 times.
Love this ride....very smooth with lots of hills. One time a few years back, it was near closing time & the operator allowed us to ride it 2x in a row without having to get off......lots of fun!!
This ride is very smooth as far as wooden roller coasters go, but that low beam on the first drop never fails to scare the crap out of me. i think thats the point.
It's not a wooden coaster. The structure is wood, the rails are steel...it has more in common with Magnum or MF than it does Blue Streak or Mean Streak. Whatever the case...this is a great ride!
This is truly a great ride! Even after 30 years. But when I first rode the Gemini, I heard music in the background and the radio's were playing "Funky Town". Now every time I see Gemini, I think of Funky town as the Gemini's theme. I even listened to the song while watching the video!

Everytime I go to Cedar Point I say I'm not getting on that crazy ride again. That beam is a death trap. And every year I find myself riding the coaster at least 3 times.

Love this ride....very smooth with lots of hills. One time a few years back, it was near closing time & the operator allowed us to ride it 2x in a row without having to get off......lots of fun!!

This ride is very smooth as far as wooden roller coasters go, but that low beam on the first drop never fails to scare the crap out of me. i think thats the point.

It's not a wooden coaster. The structure is wood, the rails are steel...it has more in common with Magnum or MF than it does Blue Streak or Mean Streak. Whatever the case...this is a great ride!

This is truly a great ride! Even after 30 years. But when I first rode the Gemini, I heard music in the background and the radio's were playing "Funky Town". Now every time I see Gemini, I think of Funky town as the Gemini's theme. I even listened to the song while watching the video!

Yeah,I went to Ceder Point yesterday.First I went on the blue car for my first ride ever,It was nice and smooth we must have been in row 3 I think.Then For My second ride I rode in red I WONT DO THAT AGAIN! Red was rickity and a lot less smooth.Next time i will make sure to go on blue!!
