@OKandNOWwhat Come out on the street with me in an English area and I will preach in English and you in Hebrew and Greek and we can count the number that understand us. Anyway, Muslims agree with you that Christians don't have a trust worthy Bible, thanks to "Christian" commentaries and corrupt translations.
Good word about preaching in English, but I was referring to individual comprehension & right dividing of the Word, which is immeasurably elucidated by knowledge of the original languages.
As to Muslims agreeing with me, friend, you ascribe to me a view which I neither stated nor do I hold. I appreciate your zeal for the integrity of Scripture, but when your polemic strays to false attribution, you may want to consider getting permission from Jesus before you press "post." Bless U
@OKandNOWwhat You have no final authority, except your intellect and I do have an email from a Muslim who presented proof from the commentaries and corrupt translations. The cults (LDS, Catholic, etc.) would also agree with you as they have multiple authorities. You can have your "immeasurably elucidated by knowledge of the original languages", but as for me, I can tell others that when they read the KJV, they are reading the very words of God. Hope to see you at the judgment seat of Christ.
The Onlyist cult love to lie. Tell me this KJVer, why are you a Bible-corrector? Why are you not reading the Bishop's Bible but are instead reading a Bible version commissioned by a wicked King James 1 who was really a Roman Catholic at heart?
I'm sick of the KJVists, they are Bible-correctors!!! Get yourself a Bishop's Bible and read the version God inspired for all English speaking people.
@JimDeferio Next time you meet your brother, a Muslim, give him a hug because he is in complete agreement with you, about us Bible believers. Muslims use all your arguments to prove we don't have the words of God as they do in the Quran.
Are you kidding??? I have preached and witnessed to Muslims many times and they use KJV-type arguments for their most unholy Qur'an!!! What are you talking about. If you put the Qur'an through textual criticism, it fails miserably but the Bible comes through with an A (the KJV with a B). You're dumb arguments actually give Muslims ammunition, I know because I have heard them and I have read them.
i dont see why new translation of the same ancient text is bad if anything it should be good because now with our greater knowledge it will be more correct translation.
Gotta love those religious folks. They will bicker over any and everything. Its not enough to believe in a ridiculous ancient text, it has to be the RIGHT ridiculous religious text published at a certain time.
Now, WorshipinTruth, read the 8,200 plus marginal notes and the preface and tell me that this is not an Anglican/Roman Catholic Bible. "St. Jerome" is cited MORE than 35 times!!! Augustine is cited at least 15 times. The Septuagint is cited more than 10 times.
The KJV takes away the Godhood of Jesus in Titus 2:13 & 2Peter 1:1. There are numerous syntax errors in the KJV because the translators did not know koine Greek. More than 15 times the KJV uses the name "God" in a vain way.
Then you should reject the underlying text of the KJV ! Do you even have an inkling of how we got the English Bible? Look, I am an EX-Roman Catholic and hate the false doctrines in this harlot church and I have put my life in jeopardy preaching to RC's. However, the KJV is basically an Anglican/Roman Catholic Bible. Let's be honest before God.
JimDeferio are you kidding? The Original KJV 1611 is THE Reformation Bible. How could you sat that it is basically an "anglican/roman catholic" Bible??
Obviously you don't know the history of the 1611 KJV. Read James R. White's book, "The King James Only Controversy, Can You Trust Modern Translations?"
Go to the KJV-Only website.
The man in this video is just repeating the lies of 3-time married Gail Riplinger. If you believe her then what's next for you, the Book of Mormon???
Finally, READ a 1611 KJV. You can buy one from CBD. Make sure you read the preface and the footnotes and the Apocrypha.
Gail Riplinger, Peter Ruckman, Sam Gipp, Texe Marrs and others of their ilk love to spread deception in the church with their KJV Onlyism cultish beliefs. The best way to combat these liars is to put a 1611 KJV in their face and let them see how the 1611 cites the Septuagint and has over 8,000 margin notes. The 1611 preface and the diabolical artwork also completely undermines KJV Onlyism.
bbbfohio is proving my point about how mean and nasty KJVers can be.
First of all you use Deut. 24:4 but Jesus says in Mark 10:5 , "Because of the hardness of your heart he (Moses) wrote you this precept" (i.e. Deut. 24:1-4). Under the NEW Covenant there is NO divorce! Read the rest of Mark.
Stop following man ! Those heretics have NO authority over you so stop licking their dirty feet. No adulterer will inherit the kingdom of God.
Oh, I almost forgot. Did you know that my KJV Bible that I sometimes bring with me when I go out to preach is a "counterfeit KJV" because it has "savior" instead of "saviour"??? Yeah, that's right! According to these KJV crazies my savior is Satan because "savior" has 6 letters. However, if your KJV has the 7-letter "saviour" , then that's none other than Jesus Christ Himself. How can anyone be so dumb and still remember to breath?
For years I've put up with you nut jobs but no longer!
You're too stupid to understand or admit that a handful of nuts don't represent the whole.
"these KJV crazies?"
Then we should be consistent and lump you Pope-Bible crazies together. You're all using Satanic crap... Jehovah's Witnesses, Roman Catholics, liberals and apostates of all sorts. Those are YOUR crazy friends, pretender.
You're no more a preacher than David Koresh. You are your own authority.
I know it's been 2 months since you posted what I'm responding to, but it's so stupid that I just can't let it go.
You used the term "Pope-Bible crazies" to describe bibles other than the KJV(I'm assuming the alleged 1611 version) - clearly you don't know that the KJV was based on a Greek translation put together on some scraps of manuscript by Erasmus, a CATHOLIC PRIEST. Further, the 1611 included the Apocrypha - a CATHOLIC set of books!
Your ignorance is hilarious & sad at the same time.
Erasmus was given Vaticanus readings and REJECTED them.
Erasmus used several Byzantine (Antioch) manuscripts and your comment about his use of "scraps" is hilarious and sad at the same time.
Your new versions are nothing but Vaticanus (POPES BIBLE) with edits where it is missing portions. For that, your new version editors turn to Tischendorfs Monk Trash Sinaiticus.
You should write the Pope and thank him for your "bible".
Truly hilarious. Actually, Erasmus pieced LARGE portions of his "bible" together from rumour & other people's writings. His base manuscriptes have LONG since been proven to be FAR less accurate than the manuscripts available today.
Your pathetic clinging to this Catholic Bible you call the KJV is ridiculous and ill-informed.
Anyone reading your post can find the facts and see that your claims are baseless and you are a bold-faced liar.
Your Bible is Vaticanus. Owned by the Pope and kept in the Vatican library.
You just prove how dishonest and/or ignorant you are calling a Book produced by Anglicans and Puritans in the 17th century under a Protestant King James I who called the Pope the Antichrist a CATHOLIC Bible.
LOL
Keep demonstrating your stupidity. It certainly makes it easy to win the debate.
Do you believe just saying something makes it true? Obviously you must since the only accusation levelled against King James came two decades after his death by a man who hated him.
You're an idiot and a liar. And you will answer to God for your love for Satan's Vatican bible translated into English (NKJV, NAS and NIV).
Call your "father" in Italy and thank him for your Bible Judas.
Wow, the apostate evangelicals just keep lying even though they are attacking an Anglican/Puritan translation condemned by the Pope and calling it "Catholic"...
Believing1Thomas denies the historical and factual reality that he used the Vatican Bible translated into English.
And he's such a Sodomite that he can't have a legitimate discussion without throwing "hate bombs" in his own defense.
You demonstrate a blank ignorance of your own "bible". It is Vaticanus with edits where Vaticanus is mutliated, as Canon Cook (an associate of Westcott and Hort) admitted saying the supposed Revisions were, " adopted on the authority of two manuscripts, or even of ONE manuscript, against the distinct testimony of all other manuscripts, uncial and cursive... The Vatican Codex."
Quoted by "Forever Settled," Jack Moorman, pg. 276
You're like an infantile child - you can't come up with a substantive argument, so you throw out this catholic nonsense.
What's REALLY funny is that the ONLY version discussed here that has ANYTHING to do with the catholic church, either historically or currently, is the KJV!
bbbfohio - REALLY interesting that you post obnoxious things to me, so I'll get them in email, then remove them so as to remove the evidence. I'll provide the details for all to see, since you don't want to, in successive posts...
I use a number of translations, including NKJV, NIV, NAS, RSV, and (gasp) even KJV. I spend a lot of time checking the verbiage in the ORIGINAL Hebrew and Greek.
You've never seen the "ORIGINAL Hebrew and Greek" a day in your life. The "ORIGINAL Hebrew and Greek" isn't available to anyone and hasn't been at any one time on planet earth.
If you talked like this in a room filled with scholars (Alexandrian OR Antiochian) they'd laugh you out of the room.
You are checking the Pope's Vatican manuscript with edits (due to it's many corruptions) from Sinaiticus and other sources.
Here's the rest: "The 1611 placed the Apocrypha between the Old and New Testaments and were for historical information. The translators made this clear in their post-1611 comments and even King James clarified this in his books. "
So - name-calling... the refuge of the soundrel & typical of those without intellectual ammunition.
Historical information? Why would anyone include something so clearly inaccurate as historical information? It was INCLUDED as part of the Bible. Period.
I have preached on Ohio college campuses before and I can try to come this spring. I live in Syracuse, NY.
I have grown weary of the lies of the KJV crazies and I will NOT be quiet any longer. I dare you to show up on a campus that I'm preaching on and start something with your KJV Onlyism. You better come prepared with some more than Ruckmanisms and Gippisms and D.A. Waitisms! How about it???
Be ready to answer the documented chart showing that gnostics, Alexandrian heretics, Popes and liberal apostates gave you YOUR bible.
Be ready to explain why you use the Pope's Vaticanus MSS and a trash-can MSS from an occult monastery.
Be ready to explain why you would use a bible that removes the blood from Colossians 1:14, the deity of Christ from 1 Timothy 3:16, half of Romans 8:1, etc.
bbbfohio makes a good point, if there were no such thing as reason and logic that is. Using this guy's faulty reasoning then I should become a Jehovah Witness because they have been the only ones leaving their tracts and publications on my door and on the doors of my neighbors houses.
Why, in this nation where education is stressed so much, are there so many ignorant and illogical people.
Also, I have a 1611 KJV and some of you crazies need to read the marginal notes and the preface!
When the KJV crazies call the modern version "gnostic Bibles" or a "Roman Catholic Bibles" the diabolical twist to all of their accusations is that a solid case can be made for the KJV being a "Roman Catholic Bible" or a gnostic Bible". Scholarship concerning church history or textual criticism doesn't appear to even exist among the KJV crazies. And talk about mean-spirited angry preachers! Well, as a full time openair evangelist, I have noted that most KJV Only advocates are plain old MEAN!
Scholarship has appeared in the writings of Dean Buron, Edward Miller, Edward Hills (Ivy League), Herman Hoskier, David Otis Fuller (Princeton), Ernest Pickering, Peter Ruckman, Theodore Letis, Alfred Martin, Frank Lodsdon, Donald Waite, etc.
And you can add Zane Hodges, Arthur Farstad and others who embrace a revised Majority Text and clearly exposed your queer Pope bible as coming from Satanically corrupt Alexandrian Manuscripts.
You definitely would make a good Jehovah's Witness.
Imagine, you're such a shameless punk. I've seen this same post on other sites, including my own.
Anyone reading ImagineFree should know that he has been given the Scripture in Job and Isaiah where the Bible says the earth is a CIRCLE and "hangs upon nothing".
Humans ARE made of dirt and I even shared the scientific composition showing that you will find that the human body decays into DIRT as it is made of the same chemical makeup.
bbbfohio Why does this seem tediously familiar? I post some verifiable facts about the Bible (which is the topic of this video). You respond with insults, judgements, snide comments, and never address the topic under discussion. You seem to feel that throwing stones at me is as legitimate an argument as actually bringing a few FACTS to the table. Why is that? You are nimbly avoiding the issue. If my statements are wrong, grab your bible and correct them. Or pipe down.
The King James Bible isn't a standard with which to make any comparisons to other translations! The KJV has always been a SUB-standard translation in need of total revision. I have a facsimile of the 1611 KJV and it is a huge eye opener as to the shoddy work the translators did. Gail Riplinger and Peter Ruckman are liars besides being adulterers. Start searching things out for yourself and ignore these immoral charlatans,
Insomuch as I therefore doeth not wish to hinder thee, or the church, which belongeth to Christ Jesus our LORD; I shalt not love the Bible more than God, neither shall I further engage in thy debate unto which thou seemest to pursue with great zeal. This Christ Jesus dist call thee to"Love the LORD...and love your neighbor". Thy splitting of hairs over translations doeth distract thee from the message of thy Bible that was so inspired by God. Translation- Quit attacking God's word, and live it!
Gail Riplinger is completely untrustworthy. Her book is not scholarly, not methodical, and not objective. She wrote the book to fulfill her twisted objective. She's nothing more than a conspiracy-theorist whacko.
She has such looney admonitions as "watch out for the letter 's'-sin, Satan, Sodom, Saul. The added 's" is the hiss of the serpent." This thinking would lead us to abandon such terms as salvation, Savior, and sanctification as well
You need to research her a little further. It's easy to believe someone if they make a good presentation, but if you don't know the facts, then you don't know you're being lied to. She made a lot of stuff up and slanted other things to prove her point. I wouldn't listen to anything she has to say.
Further, why make such a big deal about it? Have you read the other versions? Can you tell me if the NASB teaches something different than the KJV?
The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level compares based on a simple formula: The average number of words per sentence minus the average number of syllables per word. This overly-simplistic method doesn't take into consideration the common usage of any of the words. Common usage is a far greater determining factor for readability than this weak method.
Does this make sense, or am I communicating at too high a level?
Riiiiiight... God spoke through Jesus, to Jesus, to the apostles, to Moses, etc, in 17th century English. This is just ridiculous.
Let me guess - Christian "contemporary" music is of the devil, too, right?
"They did a study" - I hear this all the time, but have never seen this alleged study. The KJV is almost completely unreadable by most people today. You guys sound like the Catholic church, forbidding any but Latin.
I have to say, I did find the study that is often referenced, but it's nonsense. They "calculate" the reading level, as I said earlier, by the number of words in a sentence & the number of syllables in a word. This speaks to vocabulary, not readability.
This religious adherence to the KJV is really pathetic. If they spent HALF the energy used in tearing down other versions to actually preach the gospel, a few people might get saved, rather than just making more people more religious.
Of course. You can't deal with the facts so you play the "soul winners" card.
The fact is, the only people to ever come to my door, leave something on my windshield, hand me something on the street, etc., are KJV churches in central Ohio.
You pretenders only care about spending "energy" defending Satanic Bibles. Why were you wasting YOUR time on this site when YOU should be out winning souls.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been in a coma for the past two decades while the Baptist Bible Fellowship, more than 20 colleges and universities, more than 5,000 local churches and tens of thousands of Christians have all looked at the evidence and REJECTED your Pope's "bible".
Go kiss his ring, read his bible and burn with him in his home. Bible Believers will stand with God and defend His Book.
You must be getting your info from the adulterer and pro-abort Peter Ruckman or from adultress Gail Riplinger - both of whom have been divorced twice and are currently shacked up with their third "spouse".
Oh, I see, because Gipp, Ruckman, Riplinger and the few other crazies call everything that is not KJV a "Satanic Bible" then it must be true and I must not search things out for myself, and I must not actually THINK!
I can show you many errors and corruptions in the KJV.
Proven character IS an issue of utmost importance to Christians. "Husband of one wife" disqualifies Ruckman and many more from ministry.
The only people who can marry more than once are those whose spouse dies (1Cor. 7:39) and those who were saved while married to an unbeliever and then their unbelieving spouse deserts them (1Cor. 7:15). Hmmm, maybe YOU need to repent of adultery too! Is that why you're so upset?
Coward? I'd love to debate you on a college campus.
I like the NKJV It is good But I also read from the KJV and the amplified bible, Lots of Words there, to me the spirit will teach us all truth and bring all things back to our remberance, God is not hung up on translations, only those translation that change the truth about Jesus and what He did on the cross and accrding to the Gosple
I'm with you, blessed - I read the NKJV & the NIV, following up with Strongs to examine it in the original language. This KJV only doctrine is rank heresy.
no,I'm still wondering what the most direct translation is,but the NKJV should be discredited all together........any ideas of what THE most direct scripture is ????
The NIV removes scripture all together,it has missing verses, look it up,it shocked me too, until I looked in mine, that's why they # the versus in paragraph, instead of to the side, thanx for the idea though......
calciumboy has done a really extreme study on this and I suggest for everyone to check out his playlist, the dude has done his homework,I use the NIV,and found actually whole important verses missing, you can even google it, God bless all of you........
the strongs is a corruption to and Jesus is a direct translation from Ieosous, wich is translated from Yeshua, zeus and son of zues were spelled entirly different than what those people have told you, watch the last vidoe I favorited.
I'm just asking you to look into it more,Iesous is nowhere near " son of zues " in greek spelling, Jesus is an acceptable translation of Yahshua/Yeshua,I just studied all of this when I discovered this argument and didn't just settle on Yahshua/Yeshua without due study,God bless you.....
I don't have any problem at all with the NKJV. The NASB seems to me to be the most accurate, the NIV & NKJV the most readable. The KJV is the least accurate of major translations and the least readable.
The NIV isn't actually a translation - it's what is referred to as a transliteration, meaning, they translated, then revised it to make it more readable, then through a translation effort again.
It's good to compare the different versions to Greek/Hebrew if there's a point of contention.
I'd say lets get beyond this version of scripture arguement and lets (if we are of the body of believers) focus our time and attention on either spreading the news of what Christ has done, or demonstrating what Christ has done in us by giving to those that have real needs of modest food and clothing.
And if we really must discuss the much less important point of which version of the scripture to use then try pondering for a moment whether you have ever heard of a spanish, french, tagalog, or german version of the NIV or KJV version of the scriptures. ... If you understand how that sentence doesn't really make any sense than you might be able to understand how language changes over the centuries and how, if you really want to address ... cont;
No it doesnt work like that, lest when you witness they turn and tear you to pieces. Example jehova witnesses say Holy spirit is just a active force not a spirit. when debating them I went to the beginning genises 1. to show god creating and Holy spirit over water--the good news said Gods Active force --so the jw was smiling at me as he won. I said no its supposed to say holy spirit--it did some dummy in foot notes said --OR holy spirit-OR wind OR mighty wind. Thats blasphemy'' THE KJV is best
I wish this comment section would give me more room or it would let me post links. ... In any case you can see my full comment on this by doing a google search for "gottmilk Which Version of the Scripture should I Use". My blog on this topic should come up as the first hit. ... Hope this method of posting my comment doesn't bother anyone.
Some copies of the NKJV bear the Mobius symbol (serpent noad). This occult symbol was popularized by satanist Aleister Crowley and is an ancient depiction of 666. Led Zeppelin's album THE PRESENCE had this symbol. Also, the book THE AQUARIAN CONSPIRACY by New Age author Marilyn Ferguson has the symbol. Apparently some Christians believe this symbol represents the Godhead, which is in violation of Acts 17:29 "..we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto.." Cont'...
Then it holds NO place in our scriptures. Yhe problem is christians allow too much to be done and say nO biggie. I hear it with icons, running after pictures of jesus crying etc..
No one says that a man is less saved by knowing or coming to christ in the NIV,ASB,NT,ETC.. The problem is that people dont take for granted the falliblity of the words of God. King James new the dangers and placed 16 scribes over one verse to be translated, thats right if you took one word one sentence--15 other people reread and agreed before it was allowed into the bible. King James's soul was at stake when he took on mission. Why dont you see who publishing todays bibles, bet you they at a bar
Or have they forgotten the bibles New Testament Was in hebrew/aramaic? So if disciples translated from original tounge-who are we to think we can just go and meke a bible today? I give you my word--The good news bible--2005 --must be BURNED
True but you limit edward---You can find aramaic in jesus speaking on the cross, and if you didnt know--the new testament was translated by our brothers who wrote the books. What I am trying to say is that example thomas spoke of isiah well he had to translate hebrew into greek right?
No doubt we can find Aramaic as well as Latin words in the scriptures. I am not sure what you are speaking of about Thomas,(do you mean Philip with the Eunich in Acts 8 who was reading Isaiah 53?) but the Old Testament was in Hebrew and those who translated the Old Testament quotes had to do so into the Greek of the New Testament. No doubt there is a strong Hebrew influence in the New Testament, with the use of many Hebraism's
No my friend what I speak of is this---in the new testament, when you read any comments on qoutes from old testament they are (translations) They were in aramaic, hebrew language in OLD TESTAMENT---our teachings in the NEW (matt john luke etc..) Were translated for us into greek, latin in the bible its self before ever being translated.
The NT was written in Greek. The Old Testament in Hebrew and some Aramaic. Quotes from the Old into the New were ofcourse translated into the Greek from the Hebrew.
I wonder what the poor folks in the non-English speaking world do seeing that they can't even understand the living Bible in English, let alone the King James? I guess that they are all in grave danger since their Bibles are in another language that King James did not speak! How Ridiculous!
Hi, good point. You do know that the Living Bible is not a Bible translation, don't you? It's a paraphrase, meaning that a guy just took the english Bible and put it in his own words rather than consulting the Greek and Hebrew. It has errors in it because of this. It also came out under another name--"The Book", if I'm correct.
I wonder what the poor non-Hebrew speaking folks did when God gave his words in Hebrew back then. I also wonder what the poor folks did back when God gave his words in Greek and not the other languages of the world. How ridiculous your argument!
With all respect, this video barely has any Bible study in it at all; yet he's trying to denounce an entire translation. Really, I wonder if he has any language training at all in anything but English. I wonder if he thinks that non-english-speaking people need to learn English in order to read the Bible. He didn't make his point in this video.
consider Acts 2:27-Did Jesus go to Hell after He died or did He go to Paradise as He promised the dying thief? A thorough study would show that the Jews believed in a place where there were two compartments: the wicked on one side and the righteous on the other. (See again Luke16:23-31)
So it's possible that on that day, the thief did go to heaven. This is confirmed when you read Revelations 12:9-17, specifically between versus 9 and 10.
djemil5-Perhaps I need to clarify my point - Jesus and the thief weren't in hell (as the KJV mistranslates), but on the paradise side of hades, which is the term used in both of the verses.
"weren't in hell (as the KJV mistranslates), but on the paradise side of hades"
Here's my own theory as to why the KJV says "Hell" in these and some other verses: I think the translators believed that a person goes straight to Heaven or straight to Hell when they die; and they couldn't grasp the idea of Hades, the unseen. Again, my own theory.
"Hades" corresponds to "Sheol" in the OT. (See Luke 16:23-31) I was debating a JW at the time I discovered that the KJV had mistranslated it as "hell" As much as I like the KJV, it does contain errors of translation. There is also no reason why words that mean the opposite of what they did when the KJV was penned should not be updated. "Prevent" in the KJV now means "precede" etc.
Can someone still get saved from the NIV version? If so, then it's good enough to start with. People who want to learn more can start learning Hebrew if they Really want to know what God said. Everything other than the Hebrew is a paraphrased version, everyone.
yesiriamfat, one can get saved without any bible at all. Learn Hebrew? Yeah, the common man who can't even read English well, because of our wonderful public schools, who you would say cannot read the outdated KJV...yeah, you're gonna recommend learning Hebrew. Right.
The word "lord" isn't even in the Christian Testament, nor is the word "god." The King James Authorized Revision used those words in its version because William Tyndale added them to his version--- they are not in the "original" manuscripts. Why complain about the words being removed when Tyndale added them?
Oops I meant the Hebrew Testament: the words "god" and "lord" are found no where in the Hebrew Testament. The words were added over 1000 years after the texts were written.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Okay, but who said the old KJV was the plumb line? Shouldn't we be comparing ALL translations to the original manuscripts? Otherwise we are putting the translators of the KJV on the same level with the original inspired writers.
There are no such things as "the original manuscripts." The "originals" were rewritten (for political reasons) for many centuries by hundreds or writers. At what point within 500+ years does a random and politically-motivated book become "original?"
key2yeshua: "Okay, but who said the old KJV was the plumb line?"
Good point. It reminds me of the Amish--they seem to think that changes in our language and culture add up to changes in morality. And he didn't make his point; it's mainly a bunch of statistics on the changes and his own opinion that the NKJB is evil for making these changes. Barely any Bible study.
Learn Hebrew and Greek so you will not have to argue about this.
Don't have time? You have Eternity. Get started.
Jesus bless you

The Onlyist cult love to lie. Tell me this KJVer, why are you a Bible-corrector? Why are you not reading the Bishop's Bible but are instead reading a Bible version commissioned by a wicked King James 1 who was really a Roman Catholic at heart?
I'm sick of the KJVists, they are Bible-correctors!!! Get yourself a Bishop's Bible and read the version God inspired for all English speaking people.
Does this argument sound familiar? LOL

@JimDeferio Next time you meet your brother, a Muslim, give him a hug because he is in complete agreement with you, about us Bible believers. Muslims use all your arguments to prove we don't have the words of God as they do in the Quran.

You act like I have not done my homework, I assure you I have.
I spent several years studying the different Bible translations.
I HAVE a 1611 KJV and I have read it.

KJV Onlyism IS the New Age Deception!!!

bbbfohio is proving my point about how mean and nasty KJVers can be.
So what college campus shall I meet you at?
JimDeferio 2 years ago
Anyone dumb enough to claim there is no divorce with 1 Corinthians 7 in his Bible is no real preacher.
You are a fraud, Jim.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Jim Deferio is a pretender using a Vatican Bible.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Oh, I almost forgot. Did you know that my KJV Bible that I sometimes bring with me when I go out to preach is a "counterfeit KJV" because it has "savior" instead of "saviour"??? Yeah, that's right! According to these KJV crazies my savior is Satan because "savior" has 6 letters. However, if your KJV has the 7-letter "saviour" , then that's none other than Jesus Christ Himself. How can anyone be so dumb and still remember to breath?
For years I've put up with you nut jobs but no longer!
JimDeferio 2 years ago
You're too stupid to understand or admit that a handful of nuts don't represent the whole.
"these KJV crazies?"
Then we should be consistent and lump you Pope-Bible crazies together. You're all using Satanic crap... Jehovah's Witnesses, Roman Catholics, liberals and apostates of all sorts. Those are YOUR crazy friends, pretender.
You're no more a preacher than David Koresh. You are your own authority.
bbbfohio 2 years ago

You should write the Pope and thank him for your "bible".
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Truly hilarious. Actually, Erasmus pieced LARGE portions of his "bible" together from rumour & other people's writings. His base manuscriptes have LONG since been proven to be FAR less accurate than the manuscripts available today.
Your pathetic clinging to this Catholic Bible you call the KJV is ridiculous and ill-informed.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Anyone reading your post can find the facts and see that your claims are baseless and you are a bold-faced liar.
Your Bible is Vaticanus. Owned by the Pope and kept in the Vatican library.
You just prove how dishonest and/or ignorant you are calling a Book produced by Anglicans and Puritans in the 17th century under a Protestant King James I who called the Pope the Antichrist a CATHOLIC Bible.
LOL
Keep demonstrating your stupidity. It certainly makes it easy to win the debate.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Your "Protestant King James" was a flaming homosexual. Real spiritual guy.
The NKJV, NAS, and NIV were ALL translated from BETTER Greek and Hebrew manuscripts than the KJV.
The KJV, differing from the versions I mentioned, has been modified HUNDREDS OF TIMES.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Do you believe just saying something makes it true? Obviously you must since the only accusation levelled against King James came two decades after his death by a man who hated him.
You're an idiot and a liar. And you will answer to God for your love for Satan's Vatican bible translated into English (NKJV, NAS and NIV).
Call your "father" in Italy and thank him for your Bible Judas.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Wow - the pharisees are definitely alive and well today. Rather than dealing with truth, you throw out accusations and slander.
Your hatefulness shows through in EVERY comment you make. Hatefulness is NOT a fruit of the Spirit, even in the KJV.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Wow, the apostate evangelicals just keep lying even though they are attacking an Anglican/Puritan translation condemned by the Pope and calling it "Catholic"...
Believing1Thomas denies the historical and factual reality that he used the Vatican Bible translated into English.
And he's such a Sodomite that he can't have a legitimate discussion without throwing "hate bombs" in his own defense.
Flamer. What's your boyfriends name, Thomas?
bbbfohio 2 years ago
You demonstrate a blank ignorance of your own "bible". It is Vaticanus with edits where Vaticanus is mutliated, as Canon Cook (an associate of Westcott and Hort) admitted saying the supposed Revisions were, " adopted on the authority of two manuscripts, or even of ONE manuscript, against the distinct testimony of all other manuscripts, uncial and cursive... The Vatican Codex."
Quoted by "Forever Settled," Jack Moorman, pg. 276
You, Doubting1Thomas are ignorant of the facts.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
The 1611KJV is THE most modified version of the Bible ever!
I honestly don't care what Jack Moorman has to say.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Thank you for admitting that you don't care about factual quotations.
You are a deceived fool, publicly posting your embrace of the Pope's corrupt Vatican Bible.

You obviously haven't had a logical thought since 3rd grade.
Vaticanus is your bible. Thank your Pope.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
You're like an infantile child - you can't come up with a substantive argument, so you throw out this catholic nonsense.
What's REALLY funny is that the ONLY version discussed here that has ANYTHING to do with the catholic church, either historically or currently, is the KJV!
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Thank you for repeatedly posting just how STUPID you are. LOL
You use the Vatican MSS translated into English and deny it's a Catholic bible. LOL
Then you accuse the Anglican King James (who called the Pope the Antichrist) of producing a Catholic KJV--while the Pope condemned the KJV.
So, Tommy-girl, why did the Pope condemn his own bible if the KJV is Catholic?
And, while you're pulling tricks from under your skirt, explain how the Vaticanus translated into English is NOT Catholic.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
bbbfohio - REALLY interesting that you post obnoxious things to me, so I'll get them in email, then remove them so as to remove the evidence. I'll provide the details for all to see, since you don't want to, in successive posts...

And what's more interesting is that you still use the Pope's Bible and want to talk about anything else but that.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
I've never used "the Pope's Bible" - that's what YOU use. It's hilarious that you have convinced yourself this isn't so.
You're like the pharisees - whitewashed graves - or supulchers, since you prefer the KJV.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Which translation do you use? NIV, It's the Vatican bible translated to English.
Do you use the NASV? It's the Vatican bible translated into English.
You're a liar and don't have the integrity or character, evidently, to admit you use the Vatican bible translations.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
I use a number of translations, including NKJV, NIV, NAS, RSV, and (gasp) even KJV. I spend a lot of time checking the verbiage in the ORIGINAL Hebrew and Greek.
You're a moron.
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
What a shameless liar.
You check the Pope's bible.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Here's the quote: "The TEXT is the issue, dork.
The text used by Erasmus was the Antioch Greek test. He was given Vaticanus (Vatican...where the POPE lives) readings and rejected them.
Not even the most rabid Alexandrian scholar would agree with your stupid statement about Erasmus using "scraps". lol
More coming...
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Here's the rest: "The 1611 placed the Apocrypha between the Old and New Testaments and were for historical information. The translators made this clear in their post-1611 comments and even King James clarified this in his books. "
So - name-calling... the refuge of the soundrel & typical of those without intellectual ammunition.
Historical information? Why would anyone include something so clearly inaccurate as historical information? It was INCLUDED as part of the Bible. Period.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
I wonder which of these you exmplify here?
Believing1Thomas 2 years ago
Are you going to accuse Jesus of sin when he referred to religious nuts like you as "white washed sepulchres"?
Or what about Paul who referred to people like you as "fools"?
Face it. By application, you think Jesus and Paul lack the fruit of the Spirit and you do so with the Vatican bible as your guide.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Actually, white-washed grave is an apt descriptor for you.
Your "logic" is all over the place.
Why in the WORLD would I doubt the fruit of the Spirit in Paul? Jesus is God, you loon, so He didn't have the "fruit of the Spirit" per se.

Just preach it, "I use the Pope's Bible!"
bbbfohio 2 years ago
bbbfohio makes a good point, if there were no such thing as reason and logic that is.
JimDeferio 2 years ago
When the KJV crazies call the modern version "gnostic Bibles" or a "Roman Catholic Bibles" the diabolical twist to all of their accusations is that a solid case can be made for the KJV being a "Roman Catholic Bible" or a gnostic Bible". Scholarship concerning church history or textual criticism doesn't appear to even exist among the KJV crazies. And talk about mean-spirited angry preachers! Well, as a full time openair evangelist, I have noted that most KJV Only advocates are plain old MEAN!
JimDeferio 2 years ago

The King James Bible isn't a standard with which to make any comparisons to other translations! The KJV has always been a SUB-standard translation in need of total revision. Google - Gail Riplinger.
She rips apart all of the So Called New Bibles. she rocks!
boomya555 3 years ago
Gail Riplinger is completely untrustworthy. Her book is not scholarly, not methodical, and not objective. She wrote the book to fulfill her twisted objective. She's nothing more than a conspiracy-theorist whacko.
She has such looney admonitions as "watch out for the letter 's'-sin, Satan, Sodom, Saul. The added 's" is the hiss of the serpent." This thinking would lead us to abandon such terms as salvation, Savior, and sanctification as well
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
She seemed extremely methodical with all of the work she had done in the 2Hr30min video.
she went into Great detail showed all of her work on a big screen.
don't know about any of her other work so I cant comment on that.
boomya555 3 years ago
You need to research her a little further. It's easy to believe someone if they make a good presentation, but if you don't know the facts, then you don't know you're being lied to. She made a lot of stuff up and slanted other things to prove her point. I wouldn't listen to anything she has to say.
Further, why make such a big deal about it? Have you read the other versions? Can you tell me if the NASB teaches something different than the KJV?
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level compares based on a simple formula: The average number of words per sentence minus the average number of syllables per word. This overly-simplistic method doesn't take into consideration the common usage of any of the words. Common usage is a far greater determining factor for readability than this weak method.
Does this make sense, or am I communicating at too high a level?
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
Riiiiiight... God spoke through Jesus, to Jesus, to the apostles, to Moses, etc, in 17th century English. This is just ridiculous.
Let me guess - Christian "contemporary" music is of the devil, too, right?
"They did a study" - I hear this all the time, but have never seen this alleged study. The KJV is almost completely unreadable by most people today. You guys sound like the Catholic church, forbidding any but Latin.
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
I like you you make sense.
or for those kjv inclined]
thou maketh much senseth and I thinketh alotehth like thou doth
lawdestroyer 3 years ago
LOL - funny guy.
I have to say, I did find the study that is often referenced, but it's nonsense. They "calculate" the reading level, as I said earlier, by the number of words in a sentence & the number of syllables in a word. This speaks to vocabulary, not readability.
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
hey the religious didnt get it back then either so why should we be any different?
if they want to get ubertechnical
they misnamr Jesus,Isaiah and Elijah in the nt.
lawdestroyer 3 years ago
This religious adherence to the KJV is really pathetic. If they spent HALF the energy used in tearing down other versions to actually preach the gospel, a few people might get saved, rather than just making more people more religious.
Believing1Thomas 3 years ago
Hypocrite.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Riiiiight... throwing a few Chick tracts on a windshield really leads a lot of people to Christ. Spare me.
Why are YOU wasting YOUR time on this site?
The Bible (regardless of which version) tells us to speak the truth. This is just one forum to speak the truth.
You haven't, nor has any KJV-only loon, given any evidence to support the idea that the KJV is the only version "authorized" by God.

JimDeferio 2 years ago
Of course. You are bankrupt on the issue so you run like a coward to the personal attack mode.
God designed divorce for people who have been abandoned or violated by adultery.
There isn't a single passage of Scripture that says a man whose spouse adandon's the marriage or commits adultery is disqualified from ministry.
So, you're a liar bearing false witness.
You're a blasphemer twisting God's word and accusing HIM of sin.
And you are a coward running from the ISSUES.
bbbfohio 2 years ago
Proven character IS an issue of utmost importance to Christians. "Husband of one wife" disqualifies Ruckman and many more from ministry.
The only people who can marry more than once are those whose spouse dies (1Cor. 7:39) and those who were saved while married to an unbeliever and then their unbelieving spouse deserts them (1Cor. 7:15). Hmmm, maybe YOU need to repent of adultery too! Is that why you're so upset?
Coward? I'd love to debate you on a college campus.
JimDeferio 2 years ago
God says that when a person is divorced, the spouse is "the FORMER" husband.
So, you accuse God of sin.
You accuse God of being WRONG.
You twist the Scripture and attack a real man of God.
How can you distort God's word so shamelessly and call yourself a preacher?
God says, "Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife,..." Deut. 24:4
JimD says, "No, God. You're wrong. She's the wife of TWO husbands."
You're sick n the head, man.

Why dont you see who publishing todays bibles, bet you they at a bar
rightlydivide08 3 years ago
Amen brother. The translating committee was very careful in making sure that the translation was checked and rechecked to ensure its accuracy.
edwardpf123 3 years ago
Or have they forgotten the bibles New Testament Was in hebrew/aramaic? So if disciples translated from original tounge-who are we to think we can just go and meke a bible today? I give you my word--The good news bible--2005 --must be BURNED
rightlydivide08 3 years ago
The New Testament was in Greek, not Hebrew/Aramaic.
edwardpf123 3 years ago
True but you limit edward---You can find aramaic in jesus speaking on the cross, and if you didnt know--the new testament was translated by our brothers who wrote the books. What I am trying to say is that example thomas spoke of isiah well he had to translate hebrew into greek right?
rightlydivide08 3 years ago
No doubt we can find Aramaic as well as Latin words in the scriptures. I am not sure what you are speaking of about Thomas,(do you mean Philip with the Eunich in Acts 8 who was reading Isaiah 53?) but the Old Testament was in Hebrew and those who translated the Old Testament quotes had to do so into the Greek of the New Testament. No doubt there is a strong Hebrew influence in the New Testament, with the use of many Hebraism's
edwardpf123 3 years ago
No my friend what I speak of is this---in the new testament, when you read any comments on qoutes from old testament they are (translations) They were in aramaic, hebrew language in OLD TESTAMENT---our teachings in the NEW (matt john luke etc..) Were translated for us into greek, latin in the bible its self before ever being translated.
rightlydivide08 3 years ago
The NT was written in Greek. The Old Testament in Hebrew and some Aramaic. Quotes from the Old into the New were ofcourse translated into the Greek from the Hebrew.

I wonder what the poor folks in the non-English speaking world do seeing that they can't even understand the living Bible in English, let alone the King James? I guess that they are all in grave danger since their Bibles are in another language that King James did not speak! How Ridiculous!
upret66 4 years ago
upret66:
Hi, good point. You do know that the Living Bible is not a Bible translation, don't you? It's a paraphrase, meaning that a guy just took the english Bible and put it in his own words rather than consulting the Greek and Hebrew. It has errors in it because of this. It also came out under another name--"The Book", if I'm correct.
gregm27 3 years ago
I wonder what the poor non-Hebrew speaking folks did when God gave his words in Hebrew back then. I also wonder what the poor folks did back when God gave his words in Greek and not the other languages of the world. How ridiculous your argument!
k8ai 3 years ago
With all respect, this video barely has any Bible study in it at all; yet he's trying to denounce an entire translation. Really, I wonder if he has any language training at all in anything but English. I wonder if he thinks that non-english-speaking people need to learn English in order to read the Bible. He didn't make his point in this video.

consider Acts 2:27-Did Jesus go to Hell after He died or did He go to Paradise as He promised the dying thief? A thorough study would show that the Jews believed in a place where there were two compartments: the wicked on one side and the righteous on the other. (See again Luke16:23-31)
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Note, in heaven there is no time.
So it's possible that on that day, the thief did go to heaven. This is confirmed when you read Revelations 12:9-17, specifically between versus 9 and 10.
djemil5 4 years ago
djemil5-Perhaps I need to clarify my point - Jesus and the thief weren't in hell (as the KJV mistranslates), but on the paradise side of hades, which is the term used in both of the verses.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
thrufaithalone:
"weren't in hell (as the KJV mistranslates), but on the paradise side of hades"
Here's my own theory as to why the KJV says "Hell" in these and some other verses: I think the translators believed that a person goes straight to Heaven or straight to Hell when they die; and they couldn't grasp the idea of Hades, the unseen. Again, my own theory.
gregm27 4 years ago
"Hades" corresponds to "Sheol" in the OT. (See Luke 16:23-31) I was debating a JW at the time I discovered that the KJV had mistranslated it as "hell" As much as I like the KJV, it does contain errors of translation. There is also no reason why words that mean the opposite of what they did when the KJV was penned should not be updated. "Prevent" in the KJV now means "precede" etc.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Can someone still get saved from the NIV version? If so, then it's good enough to start with. People who want to learn more can start learning Hebrew if they Really want to know what God said. Everything other than the Hebrew is a paraphrased version, everyone.
yesiriamfat 4 years ago
yesiriamfat, one can get saved without any bible at all. Learn Hebrew? Yeah, the common man who can't even read English well, because of our wonderful public schools, who you would say cannot read the outdated KJV...yeah, you're gonna recommend learning Hebrew. Right.
crazy650c 4 years ago
The word "lord" isn't even in the Christian Testament, nor is the word "god." The King James Authorized Revision used those words in its version because William Tyndale added them to his version--- they are not in the "original" manuscripts. Why complain about the words being removed when Tyndale added them?
menotfree 4 years ago 2
Oops I meant the Hebrew Testament: the words "god" and "lord" are found no where in the Hebrew Testament. The words were added over 1000 years after the texts were written.

Okay, but who said the old KJV was the plumb line? Shouldn't we be comparing ALL translations to the original manuscripts? Otherwise we are putting the translators of the KJV on the same level with the original inspired writers.
key2yeshua 4 years ago
There are no such things as "the original manuscripts." The "originals" were rewritten (for political reasons) for many centuries by hundreds or writers. At what point within 500+ years does a random and politically-motivated book become "original?"

key2yeshua: "Okay, but who said the old KJV was the plumb line?"
Good point. It reminds me of the Amish--they seem to think that changes in our language and culture add up to changes in morality. And he didn't make his point; it's mainly a bunch of statistics on the changes and his own opinion that the NKJB is evil for making these changes. Barely any Bible study.
