best cover of blackbird i've ever heard (the beatles were my favorite group growing up)....love it when people make covers their own to the point you barely hear the original song anymore - but, the spirit of the original still remains. THAT'S talent....

@MrRandomWritings Although local, Liane plays worldwide & regularly at Ronnie Scotts. As for Russell, the drummer, he can turn his drumming hands to anything. He used to be Midge Ure's drummer, amongst others.

I missed Liane everywhere except the finale, in which, of course, it was impossible to distinguish individual voices. She's always amazing though - and unrehearsed? Whoa. Russell too though. Wotta guy!

@penguinspetpumpkin Well, Liane was asked if she'd fill in & do a couple of songs for us, which she agreed to. If it was rehearsed, it was done in the dressing room, as these things often are! I suspect that Liane may have done Blackbird at a previous BD & Russell can play anything & with anyone.

Did you see her version of Eleanor Rigby with the Hastings Horns? That was amazing & once again, unscheduled.

Thanks for putting this up Andy. I missed it, but caught Liane downstairs and she was stunning. She was also wonderfully complimentary to my daughter Hana following her (very different) performance of Blackbird later.  Liane is an absolute star!

@mrsclem I didn't realise that Liane had played downstairs as well. It did seem that as soon as we got her onto the stage, she couldn't get enough of it & kept coming back for more.

Yes, she is a true star & we're very lucky to have her in Hastings.
