Smith is great. Douglas byrds band is garbage and so is Jack britts. South View and Cape fear are the best core bands in cuberland county. too bad south view blew smith away this year. especially our mellos.
It is all about them DB Eagles we are the BEST band in Cumberland County, so if you want to listen to a true band you know where Douglas Byrd is at. Nuff said

I played with jack britt in high school and now in college i play for a show band cuz i'm at a HBCU and to be honest if you just love music and love what you do then you should give props to where it's due. It's fun doing both styles in my opinion cuz the audience is a mixed bunch...some get tired of listening to the same songs that are on the radio and wanna see something different while others just wanna be entertain...all this BEEF is just stupid.

as a person who marched both corps style and show.... i would have to say that hands down show style is a thousand times harder. try bringing ur knees up high, and playing at the same time, and not role stepping. i've done carolina crown and all that shit so trust i know.

Cause I marched Crown, and there is no way on god's green earth that humping the ground and playing outside of the bell is harder than keeping your feet in time at 200bpm while spread from 20 to 20 and marching your ass off and stopping on a dime. I saw a kid break his leg on the field at Crown this year.....snapped it in 2. Never seen a show band kid do that.
@dcimonkey ok for one corps style marching is not that hard, if you want to act hard try marching in the United States Marine Corps. i promise you it's harder then crown.... now crown was in 06.... i only did a couple performances, because it was too expensive for me... maybe you should give respect were it is due... if all your gonna talk about is how a show band sucks, then don't watch the fucking videos bitch!!!!!

On certain songs we do have good quality sound, key changes, great dynamics and so on and so on but when it comes down to ESPN no one cares about all that stuff on a judge's score sheet, we're just ready to blow a band out. Thats what ESPN is suppose to be like!!!! ESPN is a repeated rythym so what, Jack Britt played it too as a matter of fact almost all bands play ESPN. . . .

I mean ya, I got respect for the MMM. I just don't think anyone gives the Marching Buccaneer Band any credit ever. I mean they defiantly sound better than quite a few bands in fayetteville. I won't even compare field shows because you can't compare showbands and corps band. Its like apples and oranges.
