@zellersboy Many Special Forces groups such as SFOD-D or "Delta Force", Navy SEAL's, and Army Special Forces aka "Green Berets", are allowed to grow there hair out and facial hair. Its sort of like saying "yeah you've survived the toughest and most intense training in the world, so go head and grow a beard if you want." The actual Green Beret is worn at ceremonies with the Army dress uniform, and close to never in the field now days.

Just like recently, on March 25 2011, four Afghan civilians were killed by a British RAF drone strike in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Travelling with family also helps to ensure they don't have troops snatch them off the roads, accuse them of being insurgents and throw them in a detention center for a year (or more) without trial. If you don't SEE weapons, VESTS or Explosives you don't fucking AIM at civilians travelling on an unmarked road and fire.

@purplebui No there are other NATO nations that does this type of shit, not just Americans. Go to Wikipedia type up "civilians casualties caused by ISAF troops" and you see other NATO troops doing it. Just like recently, on March 25 2011, four Afghan civilians were killed by a British RAF drone strike in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
With US deployed nearly as 10 times more troops than any any NATO nations, meaning that US will suffer a higher casualties rate.

@mookixox well if you don't KNOW if they are hostile or not then you do have to take steps to be safe, however he shouldn't have been aiming in the vicinity of the truck but richottes are hard to account for, you cant shoot into the air cos the round will travel a couple k's or even several k's before returning to the ground and possibly hitting someone, you need to aim for something you can hit, richottes are just part of the fact the guns are a tool for war.

The troops have been fighting for a DECADE and the death toll of troops is getting heavier and heavier which means the PEOPLE are turning against them to the Talibans side. Have you seen the Afghan army fight? The majority shoot to waste ammo and collect a pay check and eventually go AWOL with a free assault rifle you fool.
