if u cant download the direct x via san andreas cd then download it from microsoft website u handicap!

Guy if u wanna get to work get the Latest version of DirectX if ur Windows user get the latest DirectX9.0 if ur Vista get the latest DirectX10.0 or is it 1.0 i think its 10.0

dude i had this problem too open dxdiag and check if any of ur direct x 9.0 files are missing if they are search it nad dl it and put it into windows system 32

it is not a directX 9.oc problem it means that you have already installed it if gta doesn"t start some files are missing or you havent installed crack yet if you have

looks like you allready have the directx version it requires to run,however if your game doesnt run,then i think you dont..but your registry keys keeps saying to the installer program that you have it.

i have this same exact problem when i try to install directx on my computer. it says that 9.0c is on the computer, but when i run the diagnostic tool it says that 9.0b is on instead. this sucks because i can't play half life 2 without it!

go to google, search: directx click the first result click on:"gamers" click on:"Get all DirectX downloads" click no:"DirectX Redist (August 2008)" download it and save it make a folder on desktop, name it "dx" double click after you agree, a window well popup. select:browse/select:desktop/s­elect:the folder you named "dx". select ok. open the "dx" folder look for "DXSETUP.exe" and select it! Install! after the installation, trash the folder. now you direct x is up to date.

this is to all that are unsure whether they downloaded DirectX 9.0c

1.Select RUN from the Windows Start Button

2.Type dxdiag.exe in the Open Field and click OK. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window appears.

3.If prompted to allow Windows to run the Diagnostic select YES

4.On the System tab , under the System Information, the DirectX Version listed should be DirectX 9.0c

P.S I could be wrong and the DirectX 9.0c could be broken

when u start the dxdiag , for some users , a box will appear and ask u if u allow dxdiag to run on ur windows...

go to Dxdiag

click the Display tab

check - Directdraw  -Direct3D

make sure they are both ENABLED

if u cant enable them... check if u have anything in the Device area and/or Drivers

i can only think of 2problems

1. The directx from torrent is cracked and does not have all the files

2. Your computer does not have the correct specifications to play GTA
