The settlements are not an overstated issue. This liar insinuates that the settlement occupy just 1.7% of Palestinian land. The truth is that they control 85% of water, 60% of all the land, the highways and roadblocks and checkpoints (400) break up the communities, and are home to half a million Jews and probably 100,000 soldiers, tanks, bulldozers, helicopters and more. 1.7% is a horrendous pile of bullshit from this lying, dog-eared greaseball.

@INdiverCT I'm not sure what you mean...the Germans came illegally and had to leave...just like the settlers will have to leave. Palestine in 1948 wasn't desolate and was full of Arabs. The JEws who moved into the Israeli borders established by the UN have done nothing wrong, it is the ones moving into the occupied territories uninvited with military force. With the same logic, I can move 250,000 Christian Czechs into Israel (which would of course, not be welcomed by Israel)

the real problem is the acceptance of Jews living in the region. In Israel there live about 20% arab Israeli, why are jewish settlers in the way of a Palestinian state? There could be jewish Palestinians right? Like in any country in the world... why I ask is it that Jews cannot live in the territories? THey had a vision of coming back to their former land. About 10% allways have been there throuout the centuries, so it's not like some alien people coming to some other country. and it was partitioned by UN and legalized. The settlements are generally viewed by critics as part of an on-going state of war with the Arab population of the West Bank, and to a lesser extent Arab countries in the region. He mentions that giving them up now would be "strategically premature". Many feel that while they are there, Israel isn't serious about peace or the idea of a two state solution, but wants to annex territory. Dismantling would be a show of good will.

Israel still has an eye on more land in the West Bank and Jerusalem to take. Once they have all that they want, then and only then will they cement the theft with a so-called peace deal.
