@AnthonyDeldeo I'm afraid that I can't give you much advice. All I did was look online to see what reviewers thought were the best, then searched on YouTube for a specific mic to see if it sounded as good as I wanted it to be (I imagine that this is what you've already been doing). I also wanted a USB connection because it's simple for my vlogging needs. I would say that the Samson C01U is a good quality mic if you want to keep it at the bottom end of your budget. I hope this helps. :)

@MissLina7 If you mean the SoftPre software then you no longer need it, it should work fine with most modern OS. According to Samson's website it's been discontinued. You can do a Google search for "Samson softpre download" to find out more.

The reason we the viewers watch the 'unboxing' video, is to get a good understanding of what is exactly in the box. Whats 3 minutes to the £60.00 you'll spend on the mic.

There are purposes to 'unboxing' videos. Websites are quite obscure about what is included. Not to mention variations depending on 'product code' or even the website. Its nice to know what a person is getting, before they commit to a purchase....but I agree with you regarding the rampant proliferation of them, a couple are fine, but we don't need to see EVERY one's unboxing, we get the idea. That said, the same can be applied to 'reviews'. At least you included some entertainment.
