@METALlicaisking what are you talking about ? its like comparing dimmu borgir and aerosmith ! WASP and Mötley Crüe had their own styles, Mötley wanted mostly to win the teen girls' heart and being famous because of them. WASP wanted to do black, shocking things, and be agressive. both band is great ,
@AngelofAnguish For real!! My family worked with Chris Holmes in the L.A. area on recordings. I have worked with a few in the industry. I went to High School with Jerry dixon. Pretty cool dude. But yes, we really had alot of energy back then and really loved what we did and we still do.
@TheKevo7777 What was Chris Holmes like back then? Was he hard or easy to work with? I got a kick out of Chris' interview on the video "the Decline of Western Civilization: the Metal Years!" Drunk, laying on a floatation device, in a swimming pool-THAT'S METAL ALRIGHT, in my opinion! On the WASP home video, "Videos...In The Raw," Blackie says that Chris Holmes is 6' 7"-is this true? Are there ANY recordings of Blackie's pre-WASP band Sister available?
@AngelofAnguish Funny you ask. He was nice enough but was drunk allot. A full blown drinker. One day at the studio Chris was to lay tracks for my brother-In-Laws band. When he was really drunk he would use speed to bring himm back so he could play correctly. One day he was drunk and he could not find his speed and he thought one of the band memebers stole his stash so he threatened them. They told him to look better and that he was drunk and probably did not remember. (Continued above)
@AngelofAnguish .He did and found it in the pick-case part. Once he snorted the speed they said he started playing good because it brough his drunk down. Once he was ok he was easy to work with. i never myself work with Chris but he lived one town over but I knew many people Chris knew. He is tall. If he is that tall I'm not sure but I do beleive he is from what I have heard. as far as records od Sister I'll post what I found next. (Continued above)
@AngelofAnguish Sister began record on a Teac 3340 reel to reel at Piper’s Magnum Opus Studio. Piper and Lawless accumulated numerous songs. They jammed with a couple of friends who were rehearsing at Magnum Opus until Lawless brought in Joey Palemo and Jimi Image. Sister was reborn. The line-up would include Blackie Lawless, lead vocals and guitar, Randy Piper, guitar and vocals, Joey Palemo on bass and Jimi Image on drums. (continued)
@AngelofAnguish During the days of Sister, Lawless had just returned home from a red-eye flight from Las Vegas with an idea to change the name of the band from Sister to Circus Circus. So I think you will find what they wrote recorded under Circus Circus and some as W.A.S.P i hope this helps and thanks for the questions.
@Daim0th It's fairly common for live concerts that were recorded with a separate audio and video feed. It's the editors job to make sure they synch up when they cut it.
Damn it, I´m just 13, and argentinian. I wish I was a teenager in the 80s, living there and whatever. I now it´s an really used story, but well, I can wish.
did anybody else notice that you could hear blackie singing even though he wasnt near his mike??? dont get me wrong though, i LOVE wasp!! always have and always will!!!
@WusshA backing vocals sound an awful like blackie and i dont know of any people who has a unique voice like blackie. but if you say backing vocals we can go with that
@ericfffggg lots of doubt... they got their image from W.A.S.P, nobody else, it was blackie's vision given form to take rock from "socially acceptable" bands and make it into something nasty and dirty that your parents would hate, he saw the potential for what we now know as heavy metal and he made it a reality... most people dont realise it but WASP are just as responsible for modern metal as bands like Motorhead or even Metallica.
My concert was M arch 17th and it was WASP!!!!!!! BLackie pointed at me, touched my bandana, Mike duda gave me his pick, and Doug blair pointed at me. I LOVE WASP!!!!!!!!!!! \,,/

Chris Holmes is one of the most underrated guitarists in metal, esp. since his guitar looks like it went through a woodchipper and he was shitfaced 99% of the time.
I had this tape back in the day. Anyone know if it was ever released on DVD? It's a classic!
LMFAO you can hear when the sequencer kicks out and all the backing vocals are gone lol without their sequencer they are not good harmony lol.. don't get me wrong.. WASP friggin rocks and they are still my favorite 80's band of all time!!!
@boutcha1 You call Disturbed, Chevelle, Sevendust, Slipknot, Mudvayne, POD, Godsmack, A perfect circle, Deftones, just to name a few, mindless talentless crap? You just couldn't be any further than the truth.
I think that it is probably the best W.A.S.P. concert I have ever seen ! Here (on yt) are another clips fron this concert. They played Sleeping (in the fire), Helion etc. Songs which were played were briliant ! It's like on the studio version. W.A.S.P. in '80 was incredible ! Now they still rock (but concerts it's not the same...but I know it;s normal... time goes by)

@foxman123456789 you dont even know man, im a drummer theres definatly way less musicans now and i can say that. worst part of that i wasnt even alive back then! if i put a poster up in my highschool like sabbath did itd be pointless. i know every muscian and they all suck. americas turning to garbage , dam mexicans
@foxman123456789 Yeah you missed a good time.......there was nothing like running to the record store to pick up a new album. And listenting to 80's metal now (I'm 41, some songs really bring you back to a certain time and place, and when songs can still get you worked up, you know the music has stood the test of time. Can't say that many bands out these days will be able to say the same thing 25-30 years later. I'm glad you are into a genre of music that made such an impact.
I want to say Metallica opened up for these guys on this tour, my reasoning being that I have a bootleg of them playing the same venue in the same year. Metallica also toured with Venom in '84 so it could have been from that tour but who knows...it's all good!

A-FUCKIN-MAZING!!! W.A.S.P. rule, sadly as previous comments have stated metal will never be this good again... but i think we'd get bored of the classics if it was... and anyway, aslong as blackie got breath in his lungs n a guitar in his hand W.A.S.P. will always be there, and i don't beleive that any of their albums have ever been bad, the vast majority have been great
Most meaningless and unoriginal song I've ever heard. This is an insult to the actually talented artists like Tool or Porcupine Tree.

Blackie is so f-ing raw! He sounds and looks like a damn beast. He brings out something primal, hidden, forbidden and wonderfully dangerous!
I couldn't say any better !!! So true Ragnarmannen

hmmm... only one thing can be said...
